Clearly Besotted July Teasers Day 3

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog with another Clearly Besotted Teaser Day. This June release is really varied and in complete contrast to yesterday, we’ve got a not so cute, but just as versatile set based around feathers and called Tickle My Fancy.
First up- contemporary and fun. Love the way that the feathers give such beautiful movement to the card- they look like they’re floating by virtue of the fact that you know they’re feathers!
I’ve just added a little watercolour marker and some simple stamping. Something anyone could do.
Next up- a card suitable for anyone. Lose the pink and it’s a great ‘guys’ card.
The feathers are actually heat embossed onto Dura-Lar using a Rose gold embossing powder. There’s no warping like you often get with adding heat to vellum so you heat emboss the living daylights out of this product! As I turned them over, I liked the softer effect with a little warmth of tone that came through, so used them the wrong way around!
Adding a smattering of sequins just finishes off the design; I’ve not done anything challenging technique-wise here either.
The last card is using some proper watercolour over the white embossed feathers. A really messy haphazard effect that anyone can get.
I’ve added some more of the heat embossed Dura-Lar feathers to finish the card off. I wanted to convey the effect of leaves with this project. If you don’t include the feather bases, they really look like beautiful leaves!
Hope you’ve enjoyed a little peek at this set. The sentiments are from this set too!
Do pop over and see Stephanie and the girl’s projects on the blog. You’ll be glad you did!
See you tomorrow for cuteness corner!
xx

The cards you’ve created with just this one stamp set are truly beautiful! The feather images definitely lend themselves to many different occasions.

Did you use the matte or clear Dura-lar? Love hearing that there is a heavy duty embossing vellum! And love your cards!

I used the Matt Duralar. It’s not cheap but brilliant for lots of things. It’s a polyester film and doesn’t warp or tear. Highly recommend it.

By anyone…are you talking about me? Find it hard to believe. Placing those feathers so they convey a draft of air on your first card, does appear like they’re wafting down from above. Actually, very clever as are your second and third. I’d say, you have this feather thing down pat.
