Kinetic Card & Spending Time!

I'm not getting bored of different yet- can honestly say its been a steep learning curve recently. I'm actually attempting to colour in images with Artiste pens. Gorjuss girls none the less. That’s not something I ever thought I’d write!
This card is using the latest in kinetic ( or moving) dies. Of course, there’s nothing to see but if you check this link you’ll see how they work. My version is a pared back mini one that would be fab for little boys ( or larger ones too!)
Time is escaping again. My kiddos are having to get used to a mum whose not quite as available as she used to be. I was chatting with a girlfriend and we were deciding just how much guilt most parents seem to carry around with them.
My kids are even better at unknowingly piling it on.
From the one who couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t go out and buy a perfect replica of both Harry Potter’s grey jumper and a Hogwarts school tie.
To the next one who came to see me and asked me to do something with her.
I hesitatingly replied that I couldn’t right then as I had work to do.
She looked across, quite unimpressed.
‘But can’t you do it, I want to spend some time with you’.
Oh dear. The guilt factor is starting to rachet up a gear.
‘Im really sorry, honey. I have to finish this first.’
She looked directly at me, eyeballing me and issuing the fatal blow
“Well, I want to spend some time with you now. The time will come when I don’t want to spend any time with you- like Suzie and Heather; they don’t want to spend any time with you”.
Arrgggh. Straight through the heart.
Perfect aim.
Bullseye.
It’s great for your self esteem.
Not.
Ah well. The balancing act ( which isn’t very well balanced ) continues.
I must finish by saying to a whole bunch of lovely girls at Weaver Vale Craft Shop. Both the staff and customers made my day really enjoyable. We had a laugh, swapped ideas and I spent time demonstrating some great products.
Better go. Need some serious beauty sleep.
Hope those in the UK enjoy their Mother’s Day. Whether you’re a mother, have a mother, or are mother to others. xx

I never had parental guilt big style until last September and a shift of full time work. About 4 weeks in S told me that I was missing her last year at primary and I’d never get this chance again! Fortunately she likes part time so guilt be gone…..
But I think children are hardwired to create guilt. They want your attention but only when they want it! And that’s usually when you’re really busy isn’t it?

Happy Mothers Day!!! May it be guilt free and beautiful!
Love your card … I wondered what the kinetic die was … my class would love these … I prefer your static version and especially the touch of paper piercing ….

Ouch. I think we all suffer from the Mommy guilt to varying degrees on a daily basis. There’s never enough time, is there? Always more time to be working with them on homework, encouraging creativity vs. screen time, even just making a better dinner. Always love reading your stories, you’ve got such a great writing style, Keren! And of course your cards are top-notch too. Love the paper piercing on this one. I just finished up one with piercing as well … but it’s only because the sewing machine ran out of thread and I was too lazy to rewind the bobbin : ) So now it’s pierced!
