Altenew Storybook Fantasy Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello! This is a filled to the brim post, so kick back and enjoy a little nosey into what I’ve been creating with this amazing new release from Altenew. Who doesn’t love a good fairytale or a wonderful story? This is the theme for Altenew’s March release and there’s a wonderfully diverse set of goodies. You might have come from Agnieszka Malyszek and this is nearly the last point on the hop, but I’ll link the start point and the full list at the bottom in case you’ve landed here first. The Altenew card blog is hosting this new release blog hop here.
I’m beginning with a product that I’d not tried from Altenew; their Layered Stencil sets. They are really easy to use (with easy to follow lining up points) and you only need ink and a blending tool. You end up with such a detailed image; I was wowed with the results. The set is called Hill Blossoms Layering Stencil set.
I fussy cut this but there are dies available to take the work out of it (I love fussy cutting so I just find it therapeutic!). Just using two sprays and plonked on some dark grey card with a few ‘textural’ white gel pen dots creates a wonderful effect.
Next up is the Fairy Tale Rose Stamp set. You could imagine it in so many story books. I’ve combined it with a great new die called Tall Tale Bookmark Die. Rather than make a ordinary card, I created a multi-folded one.
The bookmark has a little cut out piece to attach to the page, but you could also adapt it to slot money in or even a gift card. I’ve just laid out 6 bookmarks, adding ribbon in the middle.
See where I’ve slotted the faux gift card? This is the inside..
The sentiments are from the Fairy Tale Rose set too. Now…don’t think that it’s only for bookmarks. How about something a little different.
If you love reading, lots of people love to record the books they’ve read, so using the bookmark die, folded in at the ends and adhered together you can create a mini album.
If you only glue around the edges of the folded parts, you can slot another strip of cardstock to write a review of the book on it. The main bookshelf image from the Tall Tale Stamp set (along with accompanying die) is coloured in with alcohol markers. To hide all the outside joins I used the new Aurora Borealis washi tape.
My next project is using the Garden Harmony 3D embossing folder. I used cardstock with a white core so after embossing it, I sanded it back to reveal the white and accentuate the beautiful pattern.
Then I just added a Duralar Matt layer over the top and stamped it with the fun sentiment from the mini ‘One Card‘ set. A little stitching and layering onto a base card and you’re done.
My last project is using something super simple that’s brightened up my crafting space and is using the Vintage Roses Decal Set Mini. It’s a set of sturdy decal stickers and they’re perfect for anywhere and everywhere!
I took a wooden letter rack, painted it blue, added some crackle glaze and then white paint over the top. Simply placing the roses at the corner really finished it off. I added a rose and leaves to a simply covered notebook too.
I do hope you’ve loved seeing some of the new products from the release. Now just to mention how you get hold of these lovelies! This will take you to the whole Storybook Fantasy Collection

Looks like you had a bit of fun preparing for this fabulous release. I love each and every idea you came up with…those bookmarks struck my fancy the minute I saw them. Since I seem to be hoarding stencils, I think that floral swag you’ve made is fantastic. Makes for a quick and easy card. My other current addiction is 3D embossing folders, clearly I’m going to need the one you used…the card is beautiful done, especially with that stitching. Last but not least, I nearly swooned when I saw that caddy you created…simply lovely.

That is an amazing group of beautiful projects for this release! Well done! My personal fav is the first card just because i love the Hill blossoms layering stencils, but I love the idea of the journal for keeping track of the books you read.
