Gift Wrap & Little Boys!

Here’s a peek at a present. It’s not a proper present-just one of the ways I was using different products to gift wrap with at the demo on Saturday. I found the glitter tulle/netting upstairs in Abakhan. I would be wrapping all my presents like this except they’d sold out of it by the end of the afternoon . I might try another trip in to see if there’s anymore. 59p a metre! Bargain. I’d cut the width in half and still not used more than 1/2 a metre. Ok, I wouldn’t wrap every present in it but quite possibly the important ones!
The tag was using tiny bits of ribbon. The haberdashery department upstairs is plain dangerous. I try not to go into it unless there’s something I need! Surrounded by fabric just does something to me. Makes me feel creative.
Anyhow. It’s been quite a packed weekend. Friday night was Will’s Birthday party for his friends. Sadly I hardly got any pictures as I was being ‘present’ at the party.
Those little boys were very cute and amazingly well behaved. One of them handed a card to Will who opened it and fell about laughing ‘… You’re hilarious’ he said ‘you sent a no.5 shaped card’ and continued laughing. They find anything funny.
We played a game that I had my doubts about– ‘Don’t eat Tommy Smartie!’
It had the effect that the originator promised and the sight of 9 little (& not so little) boys crowded around a paper plate shouting ‘don’t eat Tommy Smartie’ was fairly amusing.
The Birthday was a giant lego brick. Someone in my family asked if it was supposed to be the moon (😉) I think I may need to brush up my cake decorating skills.
William had insisted that his Star Wars Lego men were starring on the cake and took great delight in pushing them into the cake. One little guy was half way completely immersed in cake.
I think being half way immersed in chocolate cake sounds like a perfectly good way to spend your Friday night!

The party was short and sweet.
One little boy commented on the fact that it was too short for a party.
Nope.
1 and half hours is quite enough for anyone.
They left still happy.
That’s a success in my book.
I was left shattered.
Sadly there’s only 2 weeks to the next one.
Maybe Tommy Smartie will make a return visit!

See you when I’ve garnered enough energy to party plan a 9 year olds Birthday
( you could be waiting a while!) xx

What a cute idea to tie ribbons around the tag. You are so clever!

Nice tulle Karen, very effective. I know what you mean about the fabric department….

“Don’t eat the smartie” sounds fun – how do you play it?
