Dotty Fabric Card & Farms!

I’ve been sorting out my fabric pile and making bags again. My Etsy shop will be updated soon when I can get some decent light to take pictures of the bags. I’ll also be selling many of my cards, so I’ll let you know when they’re posted. Back to the card- because I was doing a clear out- I dug out some little pieces of fabric and decided to create some cards with them. I simply ironed some fusible interfacing onto some spare fabric and cut the flower and leaves out. Once you’ve used the interfacing, the fabric is really easy to cut and won’t fray. I then used a dotted stamp to add some detail in pink. The blue dotted paper was made more exciting bu punching out circles and adding a backing coloured piece behind so the colour showed through. I sewed a long stitch through some light yellow and gathered it together to create the mini flower. The heart button is a set from Cath Kidston. The sentiment is from SU! along with the rhinestones. I’m still using up bits of papers from K & Co & LittleYellow Bicycle.  It really is an ode to dots!

Speaking of dots, I got a lovely email from  lady called Sue who wanted to show me what she’d created after seeing some of my recent cards. I love getting feedback so I thought I’d show you one of the pictures she’d sent me of some of her lovely cards!

She created her definition paper herself on her computer. I love that we can all be inspired by each other! Thanks for sending those pics Sue!

I’ve been staying in again this week. Out of the two germ ridden kids, one of their schools said they didn’t want to see them in school until all their symptoms were gone. As this could be 7-10 days she’s stuck at home- although she’s perfectly happy and not at all ill! Such a shame they couldn’t all be infectious and I could have avoided the school run for a whole week!  Last week I did venture out to a farm with Will. One of the challenges with having a large number  of kids is that it doesn’t leave much time to do fun things as there is so much other stuff to do. I decided to go and visit a farm with Will who is really easily pleased. He really delighted in taking charge and being the ‘leader’ on a walk and then we paid for some animal food so he could feed the chickens or ducks. He was somewhat freaked out by one of the cockerels who headed towards us like an Exocet missile. Once he realised that the cockerel only wanted the brown bag, and I looked after it, he happily threw a handful of feed at the rooster and ran in the opposite direction!

I was a little peturbed by his choosing process- he decided who got fed and when. We walked past some pretty little Bantam hens, and I asked whether he was going to throw them a handful. ‘No’ he said. I asked why , particularly as ‘they look really hungry’. ‘Nope’ he replied, ‘because they’re ugly’! Fortunately he’s not in charge of feeding our family or I wonder whether I’d ever get fed!

Need to go; see you when I’ve made some fabric hearts.. x
