Altenew Craft-A-Flower: African Daisy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hi everyone! Hasn’t it been a great few days with the Altenew 8th Birthday celebrations? Do check out the Birthday post (scroll down) for more details. Today we’re onto something new and beautiful; the latest Craft-A-Flower which is the lovely African Daisy. You may want to begin at the beginning, which is at Altenew’s card blog here, but if you’ve come to my blog via Cheryl Espie then a massive hello!
(all the following links are affiliate ones, thankyou so much)
Here’s what I created using this new set.

The red makes it a real attention grabber doesn’t it. Isn’t it such a glorious flower? It’s really easy to put together and there are different stems- but not that long- so I’ve hidden the cut stems behind the lower flowers- an easy trick! I love playing around with angles so attached the matt layer sticking out. Changing angles just draws the eye around your card design.
You can get hold of this special African Daisy die set here which depending on the colours that you choose, can look like nearly any flower. Add a few more layers of petals and you’ve a entirely different looking flower!

You can see a little folded creases as I wanted to give more dimension to the flowers. They’re nestled on a watercolour background to add a little softness to the hard matt layer and the strong red vibe.
The Craft-A-Flower series is so popular and if you don’t want to miss any of them plus get a discount, then you might like the Craft-A-Flower subscription. This is a monthly subscription plan for our Craft-A-Flower die set. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in the monthly Craft-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($35.99 →$29.99)

You can see the wonderful detail and all the little white gel pen dots and dots of colour matching the watercolour.

Altenew: A Year In Review Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! How are you? It’s nearly the New Year and Altenew thought it would be fun to have a blog hop celebrating our favourite projects. What a good excuse to have a blog hop plus a great giveaway too! As usual, the blog hop will begin at Altenew’s blog first, so to see it in order, please start here. You might have come to my blog from Kari VanNoy so a special welcome if it’s the first time you’re visiting me!
It’s really hard to choose my favourites from all the projects I’ve created, but I picked a few and I hope you’ll enjoy seeing them again! First up is a delicate floral what I like to call a ‘Bouquet Card’.

Stamping the outline in pink really adds something to the delicacy of the floral images. First I stamped out some of the flowers plus die cut them out. I started with a tent folded base and cut a strip out towards the right and backed it with some Matt Duralar (Grafix). I love the contrast of the solid and semi-transparent. The set is called the Build-A-Flower Tree Peony and it’s a beauty isn’t it!
The next one is a floral too- but with a simple colour scheme and no colouring!

I just love this Craft-A-Flower Cistus die set.
You might have noticed that I rarely choose the same colours as the flower traditionally is, but I did decide to go with white (they’re often pink too). Creating depth with white is a little more tricky, but armed with some vellum to separate the layers, it adds dimension really easily and gives a wonderful softness. A black background really gives a pop to the flowers.
Next is a defying gravity card…

The stamp set I used is called Folk Art and it also has a matching die which takes the hassle out of trimming round little details. I love how you can use it with different colours and it looks sooo different. Try embossing in gold and see how it takes on an almost Art Deco feel (I know, not the right style..but try it!). The card looks like it’ll topple over but it’s got a slice chopped off the back point of the card so it’s more stable.
My fourth card is probably one of my all time favourites, using one of my favourite sets Craft-A-Flower Antique Rose. The clever design of the different layers gives so much dimension and realism.

Having the flowers flowing down the card leads your eye through the design and extending the flowers over the top of the card (add an extra piece of cardstock to add stability to the structure) makes for a creative greeting.
I love this graphic that Altenew put together!

Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners and a $15 gift certificate to 4 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog HERE or share Altenew projects with #AltenewBest2021 on social media by 01/06/2022 for a chance to win. 9 winners will be announced on the Altenew Winners Page on 01/08/2022.
There’s also the chance to win a $10 gift certificate for all the commenters on my blog, so look out back on my blog on January 8th and I’ll let you know if you’ve won!
What’s your favourite product that Altenew has created this year, or do you have a favourite project?

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: California Giants Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! How are you?
I’m so pleased to be joining in with Altenew’s latest Craft-A-Flower release- the California Giants. This is a really fun flower and as usual there’s a blog hop with lots of designers taking part. You may have come to my blog via lovely Seeka, so hello if that’s the case! You might want to go to the very start- so do visit the Altenew blog if that’s the case.
All following links are affiliate ones- giving me a little extra but costing you nothing! Thanks for your support x
I decided to create something a little unusual with this set. I was just feeling in a rainbow mood. So I did stack just a few layers together 😉

Isn’t it a fabulous die set! Obviously you wouldn’t need to do this- you could just use the individual layers as they’re beautiful by themselves. I simply layered lots of colours on top of each other, shifting each layer slightly. The leaves and sentiment are also part of the set.
If you love the Craft-A-Flower series as much as I do, you might want to consider getting a monthly subscription. This is a monthly subscription plan for Altenew’s Craft-A-Flower die set. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in their monthly Craft-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($35.99 →$29.99).

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Daffodil & Glitter Cardstock Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! So nice to welcome you to my blog. Today we’ve a double celebration; the Daffodil Craft-A-Flower and a lovely new collection of Glitter Cardstock in the most gorgeous colours. I’ve got one project using the new dies and 2 other projects just using the Glitter Cardstock Sets. You may have come from Maryam Perez’s blog, so a big hello if that’s the case. If you’d like to start at the beginning, do go to the Altenew Card Blog.

I’ve used the beautiful Craft-A-Flower Daffodil set (all links are affiliate ones) and I’ve used the Gilded Glitter Cardstock Set (which is 6 colours and 24 sheets in total) and the Forest Canopy Glitter Cardstock set (4 colours and 16 sheets). The Gilded colour is on the inside of the daffodil and the Forest Canopy on the leaves. You can also get the Craft-A-Flower Daffodil and Gradient Cardstock bundle (there’s a 5% discount).
Initially there will be a limited supply of the cardstock so if it’s not available when you want to purchase please sign up for back-in-stock notification on the product page to get notified by email as soon as the glitter cardstock sets are available again.
You might spy the background Moroccan Lattice Cover Die and the thought provoking sentiment is from the Slim Sentiments Die Set. I added some Grafix Duralar Matt film over the top of the Moroccan Lattice die to soften the effect and so it’s not fighting for the limelight with the beautiful daffodil.
Onto the next projects using the beautiful blues; Ocean Reflection Glitter Cardstock Set (4 colours and 16 sheets).

I chose the gorgeous Craft-A-Flower Buttercup die set to decorate the tag. I used some grey cardstock for the base and trimmed off slithers of the different coloured glitter cardstock and added white cardstock to highlight the glitter. Sometimes we can use it sparingly and it still creates impact.

Glitter is notoriously hard to photograph but the picture gives a real hint of the sparkle from the Ocean Reflection Glitter Cardstock Set. I added strips of each different colour in the set and put the Ornate Cover Die over the top. Adding the Hello from Hello & Hugs die set is the perfect finishing touch.

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! Happy Monday (or whichever day you visit!) to you. Hope you’re having a lovely day. Today sees the release of Altenew’s latest Craft-A-Flower die set and this month it’s a Peruvian Lily. What a stunning flower and so easy to create using these dies.
For those of you that have come via Laura Jane’s blog, then a big hello to you! If you’d like to begin..at the beginning!..please go to Altenew’s Card Blog.

Isn’t it a stunning die set! It might look complicated, but it isn’t really and the diagrams from Altenew are so helpful in giving you the directions for which piece goes where. The hardest part is deciding which colours to choose!
(the following links are affiliate ones. I really appreciate your support x). You can get the Craft-A-Flower Peruvian Lily die set from the Altenew store but maybe you’d like to simplify things and get every monthly release in a discounted subscription (($35.99 →$29.99). If you don’t want to have to try and put coordinating colours together, why not try the discounted Craft-A-flower Peruvian Lily with matching gradient cardstock bundle?

The flower doesn’t need much embellishment…you’ve heard the phrase about gilding the lily 😉 I just used the same coloured strips from creating the flower and put them at angles using different widths onto a tent folded white card. Super easy and quick. Finishing off with some white gel pen dots just adds a little depth and detail to it.
Of course, with every blog hop there are PRIZES to be won..

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello lovely blog friends, it’s lovely to be sharing with you again. Today we’re celebrating the release of Altenew’s latest Craft-A-Flower which I think are one of my favourite things that Altenew release. This blog hop starts at the Altenew Card Blog if you want to start at the beginning. You might have arrived at my blog from the fabulous Joylita Dsouza so if that’s the case, a special welcome!
Onto what I’ve created.. well I did stick to the traditional colours this time!

What a stunner of a die set right?! Its a layering die set which is easy to put together. You can get them as a complete set here (the following links are affiliate ones) Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup Layering Die Set and also the Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup Die Set & Gradient Cardstock Bundle (has a 5% discount).

You can see the details. To ‘ground’ my flowers, I added them to a simple square die cut frame that I mounted onto my base card. The base is pretty simple too- just a basic tent fold card that I marked the centre point at the bottom and then trimmed a triangle out so you have a banner shape. I used different greens for the bottom and centre of the buttercup and leaves. Looking at the set, it would be easy to change colours and transform the buttercup into another kind of flower.
As usual there is a fab giveaway.
