Clearly Besotted July/Aug Teasers Day 3

We’re getting closer to Release Day and I decided to do a little experiment today. I know from different groups (includng the Facebook Clearly Besotted Fans group) that lots of people are at different stages in their creativity. Not everyone has lots of colouring mediums and lots more don’t feel very confident with their colouring. So, I decided to paper piece this new set ‘Lazy Days’ to illustrate that you can get texture and depth easily by just using patterned paper.

I’ve used cheap paper pads I got from ‘The Works’ but you’ll easily find scraps of paper that would do. I used the main scene image in the darker blue and simply stuck the other elements on top of it. Granted, you have to cut out the leaves and palm tree etc, but you could also use an electronic machine like the Scan’n’Cut to do similar. I have used some very simple extra bits of Copic marker colour- but you can see the detail better on this next photo.

So much quicker , and the beauty is that it takes so little skill- just perfect for beginners or those who don’t want to spend an age blending ( or who might not have many alcohol marker colours).

Granted, it’s a slightly different look, but I had fun creating it and I adore the sentiment. I think I’ve been running on low battery mode for quite a while!!

It’s now time to visit the Clearly Besotted Blog, then onto Michelle, Lisa and Francine Vuilleme plus seeing Mona and Alberto over on Instagram

Tomorrow is a twofer, I’ll explain why tomorrow!

This is fantastic! I love the look you have achieved with the paper piecing. You gave so much texture from the papers and I just love the overall look. Perfect for this adorable scene! xx

*GASP*. This is the ultimate in paper piecing, my friend. I’m dumbfounded by your cutting skills. You’ve matched the paper perfectly to the images. It’s truly a work of art.

It’s ages since I did paper piecing and I forgot how fun it is to do. You got so much texture with the different pieces of paper and I love how this turned out! Wouldn’t it be lovely to be bobbing around in some water at the moment 😁
