Introducing … Background Blocks Nautical Stripes and more!

Hello everyone! So lovely to have you visiting. Today marks Day 3 of looking at the Uniko Release.

Uniko are reintroducing the Nautical Treasures which is a lovely set. I really want to stamp this up in lighter prettier colours; there are lots of female sailors too!

Background Blocks Nautical Stripes is definitely a firm favourite with me. I can see me using this a lot. I wanted to use it with different colours on to create a scene!

Now you might not be able to see much of the stencilling, but it’s in the background and I wanted more to show, but ended up hiding up. I’ve loved doing lots more stencilling- it adds such impact to the card!

So- here’s my little project; a porthole with a stormy sea background!! The inking on the stripes was intentionally imperfect; it’s supposed to look a little like a choppy sea ( or that was what I was trying to achieve!!)

Start with the lighter ink colours and then progress to the dark. It saves contaminating your ink pads! Simply stamp the compass onto some cardstock and then die cut a circular frame using wood grain effect paper. I mounted the frame on foam pads and then onto my stamped stripes.

I added some mini brads around for effect and added the sentiment. Such an easy card!

You can see this other stencil that pairs well with these products. Uniko have done such a fab job with this release. Please visit the Uniko Blog to see the whole hop list. There’s so much inspiration to see. I’m loving guesting with them !

Do visit tomorrow when we’re going just a little wild!!

LOVE anything nautical so your card and this set are right up my alley, I can see all kinds of possibilities for that compass image and you beautifully pulled off one of them perfectly.

Keren, your colourful striped background looks fabulous! Also the stenciled anchors with the gradient from dark to light blue (although most of them are hidden beneath the other layer).
Great idea to create a compass with a wooden body!

    Kind greetings from Wiebke

This is genius and a clever way to use up those brads we’ve all got stashed away! Love this design. Hugs Bev x
