Clearly Besotted August Release Day!

We’re at Release Day. I’ve loved the range of sets this month ! Today I’m focussing on ‘Jump & Fall’ which is exactly what you don’t want to you if you’re on top of a very high tree!

This is all about treetop fun. Rather than just stamp a full tree, I thought I’d create a scene with 3 tops of trees and all the animals flying or resting on the tops.

Playing ‘juggle the leaves’ with the bluebirds!

I can’t wait to visit Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and then visit Michelle Short for her blog post and round-up video of the whole release, and then pop over to see our awesome guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

As usual, the release goes live at 8pm GMT. Exciting times!

All sets are available tonight on the Clearly Besotted store and also from Simon Says Stamp , Art CreatiuCloud 9 Crafts and Card Nouveau too.

Don’t forget to enter into the giant giveaway over on Clearly Besotted’s Facebook page. It’s a fabulous opportunity to win the whole release!

Do let me know which ones have been your favourites!

Take care,

Clearly Besotted August Teasers Day 4

We’re so near to release day now! Haven’t these been fun sets so far! I’m revisiting ‘Balloon Bunch Autumn’ and using the set a little more simply.

I wanted to use this set how it had been designed – a proper ‘up in the sky’ design. I was tempted to use the Sky stencil to create a background, but I’ve rather enjoyed creating a more clean and simple style cards this month, so thought I’d stick with that.

The trees are part of the set and finish the bottom so perfectly. Easy colouring but keeping it simple. I wanted to combine two of the balloons together on the card so coloured them and trimmed them out. A good bit of relaxing fussy cutting, although I did have to get my craft knife to cut in between the strings.

Those balloons are so much fun! I can imagine a card base just covered in lots of balloons making a perfect background for a birthday greeting.

Please do visit Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and then onto my favourite teamie Michelle Short. Lastly pop over to visit our fabulous guest designers Alberto Gava and Francine Vuilleme to see some inspirational projects.

Hope to see you tomorrow for release day,

Clearly Besotted August Teasers Day 3

So good to have you back! Today I’ve got a different vibe going on, a soft, billowy, light as a…feather one.

I only intended doing a couple of characters, and trimming them out into a scene, but after stamping ‘Floating Feathers’ characters to pick my favourite, I thought they were lined up perfectly for a design.

They’re all having fun…something I definitely need more of! The fact that one of them is upside down was perfect, and by simply trimming a straight line, whilst cutting out the top edges.

I did wonder what the animals were. I thought they might be rabbits, or bears or penguins. who knows- but they’re pretty cute! Answers in the comments please!!

The perfect jubilant band of feather wearing bears?! They could be a marching band, but they’re smiling so it must be good. I’ve kept them coloured grey so they contrast with the feathers as much as possible.

Please pop over to Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and then float over to Michelle Short and then pop over to see our wonderful guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

Hope to see you tomorrow for a bit more autumnal fun,

Keren x

Clearly Besotted August Teasers Day 2

Hello again! We’re looking at ‘Fall Corners’ today and despite gnomes not being a particular passion of mine, I have to admit having a rather soft spot for this one. I’ve kept it super simple and just highlighted ‘Geoffrey’ in all his gnome-y gloriousness.

I just love this character! I also have a thing about mushrooms. I love the orangey red fungi and the white dots (again, who doesn’t love dots!!). If you want to add texture add some brown to help with dimension and notice the blue around all the mushrooms which helps the images ‘pop’! More dots- this month I’ve got a little dot crazy!

What a cutie! In this set, there’s another corner with flowers and leaves and another gorgeous character. If you love the corners, you’ll really love this set. Plenty of alcohol friendly black ink stamped onto more alcohol friendly cardstock.

Pick colours that are similar – oranges, reds and browns and colour and shade. Adding the tiny flecks helps make the mushrooms look more realistic.

First things first, pop over to Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and then see the wonderful Michelle Short and then pop over to see our amazing guest designers Alberto Gava and Francine Vuilleme.

More Clearly Besotted loveliness tomorrow, do call back then!

Clearly Besotted August Teasers Day 1

Hello lovely blog friends! How are you all? Clearly Besotted are gearing up ready for our release on August 1st at 8pm BST. It’s a lovely mix of autumnal/fall, gnomes, nature and feathers.

The set is called ‘Balloon Bunch Autumn’ and when I saw the set, I thought it would make an amazing wreath. I stamped the balloons in a North, South, East, West formation, then mask off either quadrant and stamp in between to end up with a wreath.

Isn’t he adorable?! There are several animals in the set that can hold the balloons but I thought that he also would look perfect snuggled against the wreath. I’ve stamped in Memento ink and coloured in Copic markers.

It’s simply trimmed out and mounted on foam pads. Don’t you love that sentiment?! You know how much I love dots, and there are dots galore with this. Creating a wreath is easy, but it’s also easier with a stamp positioner.

How would you envisage using the set?

We have plenty to see when you visit Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and my lovely team-mate Michelle Short and then pop over to see our amazing guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

See you tomorrow

Clearly Besotted July Release Day

Yay! We’ve made it to July Release Day. So many lovely sets this month that I’ve really enjoyed creating with. The last set called ‘Lovely Lemonade’ was one that made me laugh when I saw it. I don’t know if Clearly Besotted ever watched the kid’s video A Duck Walked Up To A Lemonade Stand (do check it out, if you want an ear worm for the rest of the day!!)

Ha! Just fun! You can still see the touches of glitter here and there! I sketched out the awning on top of the lemonade stand. You don’t need it (see the duck video!) but I wanted to add some more colour! It’s an easy sketch!

I spent so long colouring and shading the lemons that once I’d taken the photographs for the blog, I realised that I’d not blended the duck! It gives more of an effect, but really would have looked better properly blended! I adore the glittery lemons and think that they should all come glittered!!

The background is just a simple blended area using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide – it is so good to blend onto cardstock. Again, I’ve added dots around the lemonade stand plus the lemons too.

I just think this card screams fun! I have left the sentiments off the cards this month (selfishly!) so I can add them when I need them. It’s something that I really recommend doing if you’re in the habit of making stuff in advance.

There’s more to see from Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and Michelle Short who has her her video and then pop over to see our wonderful guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

As usual, the release goes live at 8pm GMT. Wahoooo.

I’ve loved you joining me this month. Hope you’ve enjoyed the new sets too! Which ones have been your favourite?

Clearly Besotted July Teasers Day 4

Hi again, so glad you’ve come back. If I say Yo,ho ho and a bottle of rum, you’ll probably guess that we’ve got some pirates on board today.

This set is called ‘Pirate Pals’ and contains so many mischievous monkeys ready for fun. The problem is that the island is actually too small for all of them. Some of them have remained on their boat, but three fearless friends decided to search for the treasure.

Swashbuckling glittery swords and a glitter encrusted treasure chest lift the scene. Poor monkey is falling off the side, but it’s ok, he can swim, so he’ll soon dry off in the scorching heat.

A little more glitter on the flag and his hat-kerchief. He’s on top of the palm tree- partly to free up more space for the other monkeys and also because it’s an amazing lookout to catch other monkeying marauders!

What would you create with this set? You could easily cut off the sand, and draw some more grass to make it a landed piratey party.

I can’t wait to visit Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and then see lovely Piratey Michelle Short and then pop over to see our amazing guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

Back tomorrow to celebrate our Release day! x

Clearly Besotted July Teasers Day 3

We’re hurrying towards July 1st when all these sets are released. I wonder if you’ve guessed my theme yet this month?

It’s glitter! Just add it- I’m really a fan of ‘less is more’, so add it to selected areas to brighten smaller elements of the characters or scene.

I’ve combined two sets- the ‘Plushies In Oz’ plus ‘Picture It Oz’. The Picture It set contains a large background set with sentiments and a few more characters. It’s the perfect yellow brick road scene with the glittery Emerald City in the background.

Look at Dorothy- she even has the tiniest red glittery shoes. I actually stamped the set onto some textured green coloured paper then trimmed out each side and glued either side of the Copic coloured brick road.

Isn’t he the cutest tin man you’ve ever seen! They make a fabulous duo and such a great scene. Because I’d stamped onto green paper, rather than coloured it, I had to trim the flowers which actually were pretty teeny tiny!!

The background behind the mountain, emerald city and the rainbow is just a little watercolour. Not too much- just enough to give a little colour.

Two sets that go together just perfectly.

There’s plenty more to see from Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and Michelle Short and then please do visit our fabulous guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

2 more days- do you have any clear favourites yet?

See you tomorrow!

Clearly Besotted July Teasers Day 2

Hi everyone! Back again with a watery project using the new ‘Balloon Bunch Sea’ set which is released on the 1st July along with 5 other sets. Want to see what under the sea vibe I’ve gone for?!

A party is good anywhere- but a fox and a lobster chilling underwater does seem fun. The lobster has his matching balloon. I picked them for their matching colourway and the perfect combination against the sea. Any of you who know much about the colour wheel- know that blue and orange are complementary colours, opposite each other on the colour wheel. I must post on the wheel sometimes- it’s an amazing tool to help get out of a rut, or just find exciting colour schemes. Corally orange is ok as an orange, right?!

You can see the suns rays filtering through the water. I used Sunny Day Stencil from Clearly Besotted. I used with blue Distress inks in Tumbled Glass & Broken China. Then I added streaks of glue and translucent glitter, then some bubbles. An easy background to create.

I know I add lots of dots to my projects, but it really does lift the individual elements and is such an easy technique.

I’d love you to visit Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and my lovely teamie Michelle Short and then to our lovely guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

See you tomorrow, lovely friends,

Clearly Besotted July Teasers Day 1

Hello lovely people! I’m so happy to be back with some teasers with a really fun set of stamps. Just like last month, there are some sets linked to a story. This one is based on the Wizard of Oz and I’ve never seen cuter characters. Plushies in Oz is what the stamp set is called and once I saw the house, it reminded me of the story and I wanted to create a similar scene with the tornado.

It was pretty simple to create- just a few swirly lines and then soften the lines between them with a lighter colour. Lots of colouring with Copic Markers to add colour and dimension.

You know how I often choose a theme, I’ll leave you wondering about it for the first two posts and see if you can guess what it is!

These were so much to colour- and it transported me back to watching the film as a kid. The monkey is far cuter than in the original too.

Lots of lovely dots in black and white and a gorgeous pink fairy. Can’t you imagine already so many scenes with this set. It’s not just these 3 cuties- there are 7 characters plus Toto in this set.

We have plenty more to see today from Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and Michelle Short and then pop over to see our wonderful guest designers Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

See you tomorrow for some underwater fun xx
