Winnie & Walter and Chibitronics Blog Hop

33236533_1591960680927292_5857833108203634688_o

Hi! I’m joining the Winnie and Walter design team to collaborate with Chibitronics to create some fun cards that light up. Hopefully you’ll have arrived here from the lovely Kate Capper but if you’re here at my blog first- the list from the start is at the bottom of the post

I was sent the Chibi lights pack and although initially thought “help- I’ve never done this before! “- once I read the instruction leaflet and watched a video, it was really very straightforward!

You can see where it lights up on the photo above. To give you a better idea of how I put it together, I’ve created a simple video

You can see some of the elements I used here. The Winnie and Walter Flawless Diamond Cutaways

w_w_FlawlessDiamondCutaways_web_large

I also used the lovely ‘Shine Script Cutaway’

w_w_IAWShineScript_Cutaway_web_large

For the wonderful Chibi Lights, if you’re in the US, then please go to their Chibitronics site. For any in the UK , then they are available from CountryView Crafts here

In my project I’ve added some shine using Tonic Studios Nuvo drops in White Blizzard and Rose Pink. The Pink dot is where you press to make it light up- and I’d recommend adding a little note inside the card so the recipient doesn’t miss out on the fact that it’s interactive with a ‘bright’ surprise!

What would a blog hop be without prizes? Prizes will be a $30 Chibitronics start kit (which is what I had) and $30 credit to the w&w shop. Just comment by the 29th May at 23:59 ( CST).

If you’d like to see more inspiration, please go to the incredibly inspiring Lea Lawson’s blog

Winnie & Walter Re-Run Challenge

Hey!

How are you? Hope you’re doing ok.

Each month Winnie and Walter have a challenge focusing on a previously released set. This month it’s Framed with Evelin T Designs

I’ve gone with a chalkboard look that was so popular a few years back. I had in mind a wall in your house complete with empty frames and flower decked walls

I’ve used the Catherine Pooler inks available from Winnie and Walter – such vibrant colours and juicy inks !

I used the foliage from the set alongside the flowers from the In Bloom; Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans which is so great for any occasion ( it’s really a Christmas set!)

The sentiment is from Sketchy Thoughts.

I created this project in the evening and was surprised the white ink didn’t show up. It was only the next morning that I realised it was there in abundance!! Maybe some techniques in crafting are best done in daylight!

Do join in with the sketch challenge- there’s always a chance to win!

Pop over to the Winnie and Walter blog to see what the other teamies came up with!

See you soon!

Winnie and Walter 4th Birthday Hop!

Hello! Welcome to the Winnie and Walter Birthday Blog Hop. Hopefully you might have arrived here from one of my all time favourite designers; Miriam Prantner.

It’s to celebrate their 4th Birthday and there’s a wonderful blog hop with some amazing designers all celebrating Love and Friendship. Such a great thing to celebrate particularly when Shay (the owner) is truly one of the loveliest people you’ll ever meet.

I’ve created a card using a mix-up of new and older Winnie & Walter products.

The new products from the release are the Purrfect With Evelin T Designs set– I just love those cats! By stamping them on acetate (plus they’re usefully an outline image) I can have a hint of the image at the same time as allowing the sentiment underneath to still be visible.

The cats tails looked like they were in a heart so I added a tiny punched heart which also gave me the area to which I could add glue and attach it onto the In A Word: Friend cutaway die.

I added some concentrated colour using the Tonic Nuvo AquaFlow pens onto the tag from Essentials : Katharine Cutaways. The tiny ‘giant hugs’ (haha!!) is from Sending You with Evelin T Designs

One of my favourite elements is the slither of die cut acetate giving some spiky texture and I’ve used Cover Model: Multifaceted Cutaway.

There will be 4 winners picked at random from the entire blog hop
which will each receive $40 credit to the w&w store. The deadline for leaving comments for the chance to win the prizes is February 28 11:59 p.m. CST. The more comments you leave, the greater your chances are!

Next on the hop is Emily Leiphart who always creates something amazing. If you get lost, just head back to the Winnie and Walter blog, for the full list.

Hope you enjoy hopping- you can never celebrate love and friendship enough!

Winnie & Walter Nov Release Day 4

Morning!

How are you all? Today is the last day of Premieres from Winnie and Walter! I hope you’ve enjoyed them!

The release will be available much later today (Nov 10th) in store and shortly after in your favourite Winnie & Walter stockists.

Today I’ve got a set using stamps from the sets designed by Evelin T Designs ‘Sweet Holiday’ and ‘Winter Wishes’. This little guy is making the most of the snow!….

In an ideal world, the UK would get snow like this that magically disappeared really quickly! We get very little snow in reality and it doesn’t half make people lose their minds- we just aren’t used to it! Everyone wishes for a white Christmas, but it rarely happens.

I’ve used the die from Essentials: Lana Cutaways which always reminds me of a giant postage stamp! I handcut the hills and added a little White Blizzard Nuvo drops and coloured the puffin in with alcohol markers. Just a really easy card!

Do go and visit the blog to see what everyone else came up with!

See you soon and thanks for visiting!

Winnie & Walter November Release

Hey! How are you all? I’m just getting back to normal after travelling working so I’m popping in to show you the brand new release from Winnie & Walter.

Today is a quick and simple card using the gorgeous In A Word: Merry Stamp set. Gorgeous bold fonts that will make designing your seasonal cards easy and quick!!

IMG_2149

So easy to just stamp in different colours and if you left the enamel dots off (from Pinkfresh Studios) then you’d have a one-layer card that’s cheap to send through the post too!

I’ll be back soon with some more ideas using the other sets in the release.

’til then!

New Winnie and Walter Premiere Day 4

Hello again! I hope you’re having a fantastic day.

Last day for Premieres- the release is available for purchase today!!

I decided to use one small stamp on the ‘Wish Big with Evelin T Designs’ set as it was curved, I knew it would be perfect to create a wreath.

Lining it up was reasonably easy. It didn’t quite work out to being a perfectly matched circle, but that was no problem! I knew I wanted some sort of bow or tie to attach it to the card or make it look that way at least- and so used the little bit left over to add my ribbon into. No one knows it was a cover-up! 😉

The sentiment is also in the set and I actually used gold embossing powder ( which hasn’t seen an outing in a long time!) which seemed to finish it off. There are matching cutaways to this set, but as I was creating a continuous wreath, I could use them this time, however, fussy cutting was relatively quick and easy.

Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these new sets- they’re a beautiful collection and I haven’t even showcased them all. Do visit the blog to see other gorgeous males from the design team and don’t forget to enter to win the entire release!

Have a great weekend. I’m trying to hurry through upcycling a kitchen trolley type thingy (nope, I don’t know what it’s called either!!) and I’ll post the results once I’m done!

Winnie and Walter Premiere Day 3

Morning!! ( or afternoon!).

It’s great to hear across the different social media platforms and then blog that people are loving the new stamps. Today I’m using just a couple of Dies; ‘Ring in the Season’ and ‘In A Word; Celebrate’ cutaways. When I saw the scalloped circle I saw ‘Jammy Dodgers’!

Now, I simple die cut about 8 of the light yellow scalloped circles and using the heart die in the same set, diecut hearts from the middle of 4. I had to line them up carefully due to the scalloped edges so when I stacked them, they fitted ok! Then I Die cut one of the circles from red and stacked them slightly at an angle from the bottom sandwich to the top; it just helps with the dimension when taking the photo so you could see there was a stack.

I then poured a load of Glossy Accents in the heart cavity and left it overnight so it looks like real sticky jam! To get the biscuit patterning I just used an Aqua Flow pen and a white gel pen. I just studied a photo and it came out surprisingly like it was a raised biscuit!

In the UK, if you’re ‘jammy’ it means you’ve done well or are lucky, which is why there’s a Jammy Dodger on a celebrate card- because trust me, if I was celebrating something, I’d want more than a biscuit!! 😉

I’ve not really begun to tap the potential of the stamp set- so go over to the blog and see the whole set-

One more day of Premieres, hasn’t it been a fab launch. All products are available to purchase tomorrow!

Till then,

Keren xx

Winnie and Walter Premiere Day 2

Hi! Welcome to Day 2 of the Winnie & Walter new release Premieres.

Day 2 sees the Design Team showcasing…Happy Birthday to You stamp set, In Bloom: Shirley’s Blooms stamp set, Sentimental: Gift (free with qualifying purchase stamp set) + Happy Birthday to You Cutaways + In Bloom: Shirley’s Blooms Cutaways.

I’ve chosen Shirley’s Blooms set with coordinating Cutaways. I’ve included the stamp set I showcased yesterday but did something a little different with the set. I love graphic styled projects so arranged the florals into a more structured design.

I’ve used the Ranger Dye inks because they’re so bright and vibrant. Love the coverage on the solid stamps too.

For more inspiration, do check out the Winnie & Walter blog and don’t forgive the Release Big Giveaway.

Do pop back tomorrow for something a little sweet!

Winnie and Walter Re-Run: Scenery Stripes

Hello!

Slightly late ( oops, sorry!)  I’m posting the project I created for Winnie and Walter’s monthly look back and save! ( aka Re-Run!) This month it’s Scenery:Stripes. Not only do you have a chance to win $25 in store but also the set is on offer – reduced for the whole month!

I’ve gone with a plaid influence and just plaid around ( sorry!) to create a slightly background in one corner. Rather than crowding the whole card, I just put the whole focus in the top left.

I’ve also used the cute little cattipuss from the’Welcome to Family with Evelin T Designs‘ which is also on offer and the In A Word: Hugs cutaway die .

You can see the cat is hanging off the  Essentials : Lana Cutaways and is chasing his little ball of wool.

Do check out the other projects created by the Talent. It’s such a versatile set; you’ll love it!! Oh, and do join in too!

See you soon!

Spring Fling Blog Hop

Hi there! How are you ?

Today I’ve a project on the Winnie and Walter blog joining in with Shay for a prizes galore blog hop.

17 fabulous stamp and papercraft companies have got together to do a special blog hop and will be giving away 17 prizes to 17 lucky winners!

I created something  inspired by The Card Concept “Fresh Flutters” photo challenge and used In Bloom: Addie’s Garden and In Bloom: Addie’s Garden Cutaways for the flowers and leaves and cut out the butterflies using Essentials: Audrey Cutaways and the sentiment is In a Word: Congrats Cutaway. I loosely coloured in the flowers using Distress inks.

The butterflies are attached to some coiled coloured wire. It’s hard to see them, but if you peer hard, the colour of the wire matches the colour of the butterfly. The congrats is die cut and then white gel pen dots added in the centre of each letter.

I cut out over 20 of the flowers (!) stamping in Metro Grey hybrid ink (a brilliant versatile ink from Tonic Studios that you can use for alcohol inks or watercolours or heat dried on non-porous surfaces) arranging onto an acetate semi circle and the blue bottom is supposed to be a blue vase.

Hopefully it is giving a spring vibe and there are a whole lot more beautiful projects on the hop so do take time to see if you fancy prizes and inspiration too!

First stop is DeNami Designs! (who organised this Hop!)

I’m just prepping to go and demonstrate for Fiskars at the Spring Knitting and Stitching show at the Highland Show centre in Edinburgh. Do say hi if you’re going to be there!

See you soon!
