STAMPtember with Clearly Besotted!

The month-long celebration with Simon Says Stamp is fully underway. It’s a celebration of all things stampy, inky and papercrafting.

Clearly Besotted have designed a wonderful stamp set, which also has a matching die set and it’s available NOW at Simon Says Stamp here!! . You’ll want to be quick- as these certainly sell out quickly! Want to see what I’ve made?

It’s called ‘Skating Around’ and this is what the set looks like..

I stamped it first and traced around the bottom icerink with some vellum. I then hand sewed around it so there were no adhesive bits showing . I’d already coloured the area in icy blues.

The idea behind the scene was that one poor friend had crashed into the ice, it had cracked and his other friends were busy pulling him out whilst throwing a few snowballs!!

The scene is totally adorable! You’ll love the stamp set. If you want the set with the a accompanying die set- then check here

Don’t leave it too long though- these sets don’t hang around. They’re only available in the Simon Says Stamp store and only whilst stocks last. Sadly, when it’s gone, it’s gone…just like a snowball that’s melted.

This would make the cutest Christmas cards but also great for winter birthdays or just fun cards! Shaker cards would be awesome with this set! Whilst I leave you thinking about the possibilities I’ll let you know that the next Clearly Besotted release isn’t far away and it’s a corker!

Thanks for joining me. I’d love to know what other STAMPtember sets have caught your eye too!

I know my Clearly Besotted teamies have created something with this set- so do check out Michelle and Lisa’s blogs too. Pop over to the Clearly Besotted blog– I think they’ll have something wonderful too!

See you soon!

Simon Says STAMPtember with Clearly Besotted!

Hello everyone!

I was really thrilled to get the special STAMPtember Clearly Besotted set from Simon Says Stamp. It’s called ‘Celebrate The Season’ (SSS102057) and is perfect for Christmas papercrafting. For some reason I decided to do a No-line Alcohol marker colouring technique. Not sure why, as my last attempt was only passable, but these beautiful images seemed to warrant this treatment.

Isn’t it a completely stunning set!! There is a matching die set which, (although I do love fussy cutting), makes it so much quicker and actually cuts pretty close which I really like.

To colour in, I used Nuvo Alcohol markers and the cardstock was completely awesome but it was a random sheet given to me by a friend so I can’t tell even you what it was 😂!

Once I’d finished shading with the alcohol colours, I used my Prismacolors on top for a greater depth of colour. I have to say I found it really absorbing and whiled away an hour or two! The patterned paper on the base card is from Reverse Confetti ‘Pattern Play‘ and the woodgrain paper is some I had in my stash -but it’s pretty easy to get hold of!

I added a few dots of white gel pen and then a little sparkle from Nuvo Drops White Blizzard. It came together pretty quickly and I love the combo of flowers and foliage. I added some Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops to the centre of the poinsettia flowers for some dimension.

Do check out the set as there are extra flowers, a bow and some chunkier sentiments in a gorgeous scripty font.

I’d love to know what STAMPtember sets you’ve been eyeing up and I might go and peek too. You’ll be able to see some amazing inspiration on the Simon Says Stamp blog, which I’ll be heading over for a nosey too!

Thanks for joining me today!

I’ll see you soon

STAMPtember and Clearly Besotted

Good morning! How are you all?

It’s my great pleasure to introduce the latest STAMPtember set from Simon Says Stamp’s collaboration with Clearly Besotted. It’s a beautiful 3-step floral set.

Here’s the set; ‘My Best Friend’. As with the multi step stamping images, start with the lightest colour for the most solid image and then go to a slightly darker colour for the next smaller image and the darkest for the smallest.
I used the black for the final colour to add the most contrast- so I chose that for the base colour. Adding some coloured diagonals gave a base to ground the floral images on. I added some pencil details although they’re very feint and the set actually doesn’t really need any embellishing.

To purchase the set- visit the STAMPtember new products page where you’ll be able to find it! In case you were wondering, STAMPtember is a month long celebration of stamping with lots of stamp companies providing exclusive stamp sets for Simon Says Stamp.

I did want to try and do something different with the set- and played around with using the solid image and kiss-stamping the smallest image onto it. It created a fun effect although I wished I’d used a darker colour.

It’s not my favourite project but hopefully gives you an idea of some other ways of using the set.

Do check out all the other products available.

Thanks for joining me today; see you again a little later 😉

STAMPtember Clearly Besotted!

Hi there! I’m delighted to be showcasing a new stamp set…all especially designed forexclusive_clearly-besotted-01

I can’t imagine many of you haven’t heard about #Stamptember, but it’s the monthly long celebration from Simon Says Stamp where lots of your favourite stamping companies release new sets especially for the event.

Clearly Besotted are no different, and they’ve designed a wonderful new set called Layered Chrysanthemumssss101661

What a beautiful set! I decided to go with a pink colour way but instead of keeping it as a 2d image, I snipped into some of the petals and glued the overlap so it ended up like this!

I loved creating this acetate based card. This next photo will give you a better idea of how I snipped into the card to create the effect. Aren’t the blooms just gorgeous!img_7572

To stamp them, it’s  a 3 step system. If you call the largest solid flower stamp No.1 and then the next biggest No.2 and the smallest No.3, I found it was easy to stamp if you stamped No.1, then No.3 and lining up No.2 stamp was pretty easy. Start with the solid stamp in the lighter colour and the smallest in the darkest shade.

I actually only stamped two of the leaf stamps rather than the three so it kept the leaves looking lighter.

The sentiment is heat embossed into Dura Lar matt and then attached to the stripes and adding a few sequins to finish.

I hope you love this set as much as I do.

Check out all the releases so far this month for the Stamptember celebration here.

Do go and visit the Simon Says Stamp blog for some gorgeously creative inspiration from the rest of the team.

Thanks for visiting me and hope to see you soon xx

Friends or Superheroes with Super Strong Ears

Stay with me…the title will make sense..eventually.

First the sensical part ( is that even a word)? Simon Says Stamp has a challenge Monday and Wednesday.

This is for the Wednesday challenge and it’s themed ‘Friends or Superheroes’ . There’s an extra focus on Mama Elephant so I decided to put the ‘Playful Pups’ to work.

On the off-chance that you’re all wondering- they’re hanging off a string that’s held in place by superbly concentrated helium contained in a balloon and the pups are trying to make their way up to the bone.

Obviously the bone is far more tempting than the food in their bowl which is proving highly useful in grounding them all.

I realise I have a strange brain. Even I looked at it and wondered quite how I’d imagined such a scene.

Here’s the doggies in full

If you join in the Simon Says Stamp challenge before the closing deadline of tomorrow- there’s a $50 voucher for the store on offer to a randomly picked winner.

I showed this card to my daughter…the one whose love for animals definitely extends past the affection she has for most humankind. She stared in shock at the card.

I asked her if she could work out what was happening- because I appreciate that not all of my ideas are as obvious to others as they are to me.

‘Are you telling me that that poor dog is holding onto the rope by his ear?

If you look carefully, he does seem to have super strength ears. I assured her that dog was indeed fine- and if she glanced more carefully she’d in fact notice that the dexterous doggie was also gripping onto the rope with two of his claws 😉.

She was unimpressed by my explanation and shot me a withering glance. If it was me stuck up a rope about to fall from a height and a pooch, you can probably guess who’d be rescued first.

To be fair it’s unlikely there’d be a helium concentration nor a thick enough latex balloon strong enough to dangle me mid-air. Nor would I be likely to be wrestling with rope in order to reach a new bone. A cake perhaps, or even a new set of stamps 😋.

I doubt my ears are strong enough to even grip a length of twine but it would make a fun party game!

Enough silliness. Hope you enjoy another daft card. One of these days I might just make something terribly sensible ( but where would the fun be in that!).

I’m also entering this into the Mama Elephant White Space Flickr challenge!

See you soon,
