‘Special Delivery’ From Spellbinders

Hello ! Hope you’re having an amazing day.

Spellbinders kindly sent me some gorgeous stamp and matching die sets. One of these is called ‘New Arrival’ (SDS-122), and is perfect for all baby congratulations cards and handmade gifts.

This set is available from Simon Says Stamp. The set is designed by Debi Adams and every time I use red rubber sets (these are red rubber cling stamps) I remember just how good and crisp the images are and how much I should use them more!

I’ve made a very simple shaker card and added some confetti bits from Nuvo Confetti and glitter collection. I’ve coloured the images using alcohol markers plus a blender pen. Adding a little watercolour using Nuvo AquaFlow pens adds some detailing around the clouds and stops it looking too stark. After all, babies are sweet and cuddly so cards should exude warmth!

Do look out for more Spellbinders products, I am really loving using them!

See you soon with another blog post using another Spellbinders set

Spellbinders ‘Let’s Bake’ Dies!

Hello! Hope you’re having a wonderful day!

It’s only a little while since I did any baking- I’ve managed to avoid doing too much over the school holidays as my kids have taken over that job!

I received some dies from Spellbinders and to my delight, one set is a baking themed one featuring 10 etched dies called ‘Let’s Bake – A Sweet Christmas’ by Sharyn Sowell.

This is what I cooked up 😉

Now you can see there’s not obviously any Christmas slant to it- but that’s the beauty of these- add a little holly or a Christmas patterned tablecloth and you have the perfect ‘from my home to yours’ or to adore tags with freshly baked goodies that you’ve rustled up yourself. Actually, after creating this, I had to top up my baking supplies ready for a session this evening!

If you haven’t ever used Spellbinders dies before, apart from their unique coloured gold dies, they’re a treat to use- they cut so cleanly and beautifully. I cut them out of white cardstock and then used my Nuvo AquaFlow pens to watercolour onto each piece. This easy type of scribbly watercolour suits me perfectly and I have loved creating with these dies.

I’ve other projects coming, so do keep an eye out for them.

The dies are available in the U.K. here and one US stockist with them in stock is Simon Says Stamp

I’d love to know what you think of the dies and how you can see yourself using them.

Thanks so much to Spellbinders for sending them- and I reckon I need to be off…there’s cakes that need baking!!
