Dazzling Diva Challenge #53

dd53 Hi! Hope you’re all having a lovely day. Being Wednesday- it’s a challenge day. Looking at that photo- what would you have created? I loved the texture on the bottles and went with the turquoise too. Also this week, the Add A Little Dazzle team were challenged to use either a ‘No More Shims’ mat or embossing paste. I chose the mat and created this project trees1You create a crafty sandwich; cutting base, stencil, metal, no more shims mat & then the top cutting plate. I used this amazing stencilHow gorgeous is that? Both the stencil and mat are available in the Add A Little Dazzle Boutique. Once I’d laid the metal over with black side down , it meant that the texture I’d created with the trees to the front was on the silver side. I created another piece with the black face up, which resulted in the piece as it is now. I used a Black Diamond metal sheet I wanted to give it a moonlit look so decided to remove the colour from the surface of the metal. I used Stazon cleaner on tiny cottonbud sticks. It took a little while as I had to remove specific sections. I love the look of it and simply embellished with mini stars from Mama Elephant Embellished Tag cut with Perfect Peacock metal. trees2 I needed a sentiment and dug out a set I’d created last year when I was dabbling in creating stamp sets. Tomorrow, it’s Black Friday in the US (& it’s creeping in here too).Add A Little Dazzle is going to have a special offer, so do check back on Fridayblackfriday As usual, we’d love you join in with the challenge. Do have a go and creating something by being inspired by the picture. Link up here. I’ve now got a link in my sidebar for those that fancy having a try of the sheets. You can get them from here. See you back here Friday (or might even be before 😉 ) xx

Add A Little Dazzle & Fancy Pants Hop!

fphopshineHey! Happy Monday!

Welcome to the Add A Little Dazzle & Fancy Pants Hop. Fancy Pants is a great fun and bright papercrafting company. I’ve had various ranges from them over the years & I’ve got the MEology range which Fancy Pants kindly sent me to craft with.

I’ve decided to go a little quirky..when I saw the paper with this lady on, I knew I wanted to give her a metal ‘skirt’. The metal bends so well, it was easy to give her a fluid short skirt. The metal skirt ‘shines’ so it gave me the idea for the sentiment. The MEology pack contains stickers so everything on the card is Fancy Pants or Add A Little Dazzle.

I’ve used Pucker Me Pink & Golden Glimmer (see her shimmering shoes 😉 )

Golden Glimmer Pucker Me Pink

If you go and visit each companies blog & leave a comment, you could win one prize pack donated from each company. Visit Add A Little Dazzle and Fancy Pants and leave comments on each blog for a chance to win the prizes. There will be an extra prize foe those who hop around the Add A Little Dazzle Design Team’s blogs. Just pop to Add A Little Dazzle’s blog and start from there!

Well, back tomorrow with two posts!

Add A Little Dazzle & Avery Elle Blog Hop Day #2!

DazzleAEBlogHop-e1411954221978Hi! Welcome to the Add A Little Dazzle & Avery Elle blog hop! It’s a week long affair, full to the brim of craft metal and stampy goodness. Avery Elle are a manufacturer of ‘fun, fresh and modern’ designs & their Design Team & ours have combined to hopefully show you some of the things you can achieve when you combine stamps and metal!

For my project, I’ve combined two Avery Elle sets ‘#Smile’ & ‘Storybook’

Combining the two sets creates something a bit different. I’ve used the aluminium metal and embossed it with a Herringbone folder (XCut) which gives a lovely crisp texture to the metalAALD1When I was thinking about the design, the phrase ‘watch the birdie’ sprang to mind. This phrase became popular at photography sessions in early photographic history. If you look closely, on the next picture, you’ll see the bird is actually flying (via a piece of acetate!!) at the front of the camera. The ‘flash’ is one of the starbursts from the StoryBook set and the butterfly from the same set is in the middle of the multi layered acetate lens!!

AALD2I’ve also used some Avery Elle sequins which just add movement to the card.

Prize Alert!!

Be sure to leave a comment on the Avery Elle Blog, Add a Little Dazzle Blog, and each of the Design Team Member’s Blogs each day for a chance to win a prize pack from both companies! You must leave a comment on all blogs.

Add A Little Dazzle Dazzling Divas Challenge #44 & Believe in Better!

Good afternoon! Hope you’re all ok. challenge44It’s Wednesday, which means Diva Challenge. We were challenged to use a combination of the following metal sheet colours

Brushed Bronze
Brushed Copper
Outrageously Orange

Me? I used them all!fox2I’ve used the ‘Joy to the Woods’ set by Lawn Fawn, and the Forest Border die too. The metal is so pliable, you are able to add dimension and texture. If you look closely, you can see I ‘ve pushed the foxes body forward from the back and added fur lines with a tool also available from Add a Little Dazzle. To stop the metal from pushing back in, I’ve simply added a little embossing paste to the convex part (on the rear)fox

I used the heart die from the ‘Hello Baby’ die set from Lawn Fawn. I wanted there to be heart leaves!

Isn’t that Outrageously Orange gorgeous (and a fun name to boot!)

outrageously orange1

Do join in, I’m so impressed with the metal- it’s really opened up a whole new way of crafting. You don’t have to use metal craft sheets to enter- but its worth having a go as if you win, you get $15 voucher for the Boutique so you buy your own set of metal sheets and get creating. Add your project to the link here and good luck!

I’m presently trying to believe in better.

That’s the strapline for Sky, who have recently taken on our phone line. I do believe in better..and it’s certainly not with Sky 😉

And lost it.

We have no connection and no internet.

I’m struggling to work. I’m only able to do anything because of a wonderful piece of technology called the personal Hotspot which enables me to link my computer to my phone network. Isn’t technology amazing ?(when it actually works and doesn’t get cut off by an engineer not correctly installing the connection!!).

I have a somewhat funny conversation to relay to you about Sky.. but I think I’ll save that for tomorrow!

See you when I’ve used up my entire internet allowance for the month in one day. Thanks, Sky! xx

Stampendous & Add A Little Dazzle Blog Hop Day 5

Stampendous banner7sta5

Hi! The final day of our Stampendous and Add A Little Dazzle blog hop is here! I hope you’ve been inspired by all the girls taking part. It has been really interesting to see what people could do with metal and stamps! I thought I’d create a little Christmas bag and tag set- perfect for those last minute gifts or making a present look special! I’ve played around with dimension again- choosing a different colour scheme but the same gorgeous snowman. Doesn’t the metal look fab as a frame?!

and don’t forget to hop around for a chance to win PRIZES from Stampendous and Add a Little Dazzle.

Add A Little Dazzle & Demo Hiccups!

10615626_10202741020067956_2970213835502430844_n IMG_4806.JPG

Afternoon everyone!

I’ve another metal craft sheet project. This one more classic than anything. We had the beautiful picture to be inspired by. Rather than be inspired a little more abstractly, I just went with the coloured leaves. These are the beautiful colours

If you fancy joining in, why don’t you create a project using the photo as inspiration! You don’t have to use metal sheet but if you win, you get a $15 prize for the Add A Little Dazzle Boutique. Just enter using the linky tool here. You can add a link from Flickr or your blog, but please just use Dazzling Diva Challenge #42 as a tag or title.

It’s extraordinary, how your best laid plans often go completely awry. Take Saturday.

I had a demo at a new-to-me garden centre called Bookside Garden Centre. I was up about 6:30am (I know..and on a Saturday morning too!)

You should see how long it takes me to pack the car with all the lovely goodies. Anyhow, I’d left extra time to get there- you never know when you’re you’ll hit a traffic jam? Right?

I was pootling around the M60- which is a massive ring road around the outskirts of Manchester, knowing I had to turn onto a junction 1 which according to the Sat Nav was about 3.6 miles away.

I passed a turn off for Junction 1 but as the Sat Nav was telling me I was still over 3.5 miles away, I knew there must be a different road I needed to turn off.

It was about 10 minutes later. The Sat Nav bloke had been uncharacteristically quiet and I glanced down to see how far away the turn off was.

3.5 miles.

I panicked a little.

I pressed the phone over and again. No response.

It was marginally less responsive than my teen girls every Saturday morning!

Bearing in mind, I’m trying to control the car at speed and desperately looking for somewhere to turn off so I could get the phone Sat Nav to work!

Eventually I managed to shut the app down and restart it. Fortunately I was only about 15 minutes out of my way by the time it ‘recalculated’ so I was able to get there 10 minutes before I needed to have arrived.

I was somewhat flustered – but of course gave the appearance that I was absolutely fine (us gals can do that sometimes!).

The day was slow and steady and I was near a little miniature railway which brought lots of kids to the place. Less endearing was the kiddy ride stationed directly outside the shop which was ‘singing’ on a regular basis.

I could just about drown that was when the parents sung along with it :-O

Well, better go- more food to make!

See you when I’ve disappeared under a mountain of potatoes! xx
