Clearly Besotted August Release-Part 3

Hello again!

I’ve really enjoyed hearing across social media how much you’re loving the sets. We’ve done ‘garden’ and floral and today is…mischief!

Having a little cat myself, I know what sorts of trouble they can get themselves in, and this little kitty is no exception. The set is called Fluffy Furball. It’s another smaller set but with 3 main images plus sentiments means the images are still a great size.

I seem to rarely do CAS, and I pictured the little fella knocking over a vase. Not having a vase or bowl, I turned to the Simply Succulent set which usefully has a bowl and used that instead. I’ve coloured him in with Nuvo Aquaflow, which I’ve already told you are fabulous. He really does look like he’s sorry…after the fact though!!

My second daft scene incorporates two of the kitties and one annoying the other by teasing her with a toy mouse. I’m not sure whether she’s scared or exasperated, but either way, it made me smile creating it.

The door card was simply made by just adding 4 rectangles to give the illusion of a door. A brad for the handle and pop the little cats on afterwards. The cats were coloured with alcohol markers ( in case you’re wondering!)

Really simple!

I do hope you’ve enjoyed the feline fun and call back tomorrow for the final day ( consecutive at least- I’ll be creating some more projects shortly!) and this time a plucky little peacock trying to balance everything!

See you soon!

Tonic Studios Delicate Detail Stamp set

Hi! Hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter. We spent it at church and with our family and I didn’t eat a lot of chocolate as was too busy cooking!

During the Easter weekend, Tonic Studios launched their Delicate Detail stamp sets over on Hochanda and they were really well received. This is the first of two posts showing some of my samples for the launch to give you an idea of what you can create with them.

First up is a box – a simple pizza  box with some basic layers and very simply gold embossed with the beautiful henna stamp.

The tag is using the set of 4 clear sentiments that come with the whole range. At present the sets are only available from Hochanda as one complete set but they will in time, be available separately.

This second project uses one of my favourite styles- the ‘off the page’ with acetate structure behind and lots of fussy cutting from the stamp I’ve photographed alongside.

You can see more of the detail here- the leaves are simply coloured with alcohol markers. It’s hard to see, but the base card is actually purple.

This card was hard to photograph with the lighter colours. Its one of the gorgeous Vintage stamps white embossed and coloured with Distress inks. Simple, but grouped a little differently to give a contemporary look.

This last one is using the henna circle again- but done in a very easy project. We had to prepare some easy demos for Paula Pascual so she could do demonstrations in super quick time.

I’ve loved creating with this stamp set collection and hope you’ll enjoy using them too!

Enjoy the rest of your Easter break and I’ll be back with the second part of projects using this set

Stampin’Up! Winter Catalogue Haul

Having been a demo a little while back, I keep track of what’s happening from my lovely friend Zoe Tant.

I popped in an order for some items ready to do Christmas gifting and when they arrived I had a quick play

This first card is wonderfully simple. That’s one large stamp embossed with some blue glitter embossing powder from Wow!

It’s embossed onto some matt Dura-lar but vellum would have a similar effect. I’ve attached it by an adhesive sticky dot underneath where I was sticking the bow and bells.

It’s called Merry Medley ( 142152) and the great thing about it is that you can cut individual parts out to create smaller sentiments.

This next one shows you the tag I’ve made and it’s relative size to the stamp.

I fell in love with the following die and stamp set. It was the tag that sold it- although the Framelits set comes with way more than just one tag

I’ve created a little shaker tag and coloured the individual elements with Zig clean color markers. Unfortunately I left the tag in the sun and it’s bleached a little so I’m going to have to do it again. I’m going to make simpler ones for my Christmas parcels, they’re just a clever set!

If you fancy having a nose at the new Winter catalogue- check it out here.

If you fancy ordering anything- just pop over to Zoe Tant’s online shop and you can get it delivered to your door!  I’ve also got some lovely stencils ( super cheap too!) but that’s for another post!

Hope you’ve enjoyed something a little different. Have you organised yourself for Christmas gift giving or are you happily ignoring it until December?!

Clearly Besotted Release Day

Welcome back to the last set of projects before the August release later today.

I’ve created two altogether simpler designs, proving that these designs speak for themselves so well with little adornment.

Firstly, ‘Be Lucky’

Just love this set, with its wonderfully affirming sentiments. These little guys are enjoying themselves just hanging out on rainbows. I guess if I was perched on one, I’d probably be very happy too!

and, oh, that unicorn!!

Next, one of the most cute sets this release; ‘Peekaboo’

This is created principally as a baby congrats set, but I can see scope for sending to friends too. I have a very good friend who is uncannily like me in her tastes. I reckon this card would be perfect to send to her. I think I might add more clothes to the little guys or she might think I was really odd! (I know she thinks that already!)

I love the way you can use them so simply and they still pack a punch!

All these fab stamps and dies will be available in the store and also at Simon Says Stamp and Ellen Hutson tonight at 10pm BST.

Hope you’ve enjoyed all of these teasers. Do pop over to see Stephanie and the rest of the girls over on the blog. It’s been wonderful having Rubeena & Jen this month- do pop over and see them too!

I’d love to know which has been your favourite set so far!

See you soon

Clearly Besotted Teasers Day 4

Teaser Time

I’ve really enjoyed going to visit the girls’ blogs to see what they’ve done with the sets! The Clearly Besotted August sets are all released tomorrow, but whilst you’re waiting, here’s a couple more projects to whet your appetite!

Bird Bath is a mini A7 set, and those birds are characters! Looking at the sentiments which are quite wide-ranging, the birthday one set me thinking.

When its your Birthday, you sometimes got ‘birthday bumps’. Obviously the birds might find that problematic, but not so a swift dunking.

That cheeky chap grabbed the birds feet and plopped him into the nearest bath.

The others were just watching and tweeting ‘Happy Bird-day’ to give full effect!

This next one is using the ‘Good To Be Bad’.

Obviously I’m not condoning being bad ;-), and these girls are just having a fun selfie.

If you look carefully, you’ll see a 3D selfie stick coming out of the card.

One of my daughters wondered why exactly the girl in the middle wasn’t actually holding the selfie stick. Pfft. Details!

I explained that she had a new device called a ‘waist belt selfie stick’.

I know, she didn’t believe it either!

I do hope these have made you smile a little. Do pop over to see what Stephanie, the lovely guests this month Jen Nelson & Rubeena Naz and of course, my teamies have come up with!

See you tomorrow

Clearly Besotted August Teasers Day 3

Teaser Time

Hey! How are you?

Welcome back to some more teasers. I’m just doing one set today, the beautiful English Rose set.

I’ve used it as it’s intended with the second two projects, but for this first one, I’ve heat embossed the middle image of the 3-step image and simply added some colour using Zig Clean Color Markers.

The sentiment is from the really useful ‘Message Me’. It gives a different vibe to the set- much more subtle and gentle.

Second up is how they’re supposed to be stamped.

Well, ahem.. possibly. I haven’t lined them up perfectly but thankfully they’re designed to be a little forgiving!

Yes, and purple? I really don’t like purple, so what possessed me to stamp in purple I do not know. It might’ve had something to do with the fact that it was the only colour combo I had that looked ok!!

Isn’t it a beautiful set?! I’ve just added a few little splashes of colour and left it alone.

Next up, same colour combo and using them as a filler rather than the main focus.

IMG_6574I love that Hello shaker die– it’s so useful, even when you’re not using it as a shaker. Apologies about the photos- the light wasn’t playing ball and with the kids all off, my time to fix it has been really limited!

Hoping you can get a good idea of the set, with or without dodgy pictures!

Do pop back tomorrow for more teasers, but before that, please visit the blog and see what the other girls have created!

Paperbabe Stamps is 3!

IMG_6497Hi ! How are you?
It’s Paperbabe Stamps third Anniversary month and I’m here today along with some other talented girls to share a sampling of the NEW Paperbabe Stamps JULY 2016 release with you! If you’ve joined from the beginning you have probably come from Kerrie’s blog.
So there are FOUR new mini stamp sets and Three new substrate kits will be available to purchase on July 30th. You will find the new products HERE once they go live.
To add extra fun to our blog hop…Paperbabe Stamps are offering up a prize!
Two prizes –
The Paperbabe Stamps entire July’s release and
a £25. gift to choose what you like in the Paperbabe Stamps online store.
So- first up; the projects…
The four mini sets are all designed to work perfectly with each other and I’ve mixed them together a little. All the critters are solid stamps with an extra matching detailed image, so you can have a least two colours per animal really easily.
Because they’re solid images, they lend themselves beautifully to no-line colouring. I’ve done a simple no-line effect with Copics onto the rabbit and then plonked him onto a distress inked sky. He looked a little forlorn so I added a matching sentiment!
This second CAS card is using the rabbit and fox who just sit so well together (obviously in real life, the rabbit would have been supper a long time ago!) but I’ve just stamped in one colour with no shading and added the details with a darker ink; so simple!
I love adding a bit of humour to projects and when I saw the little hedgehogs, they looked like they’d be up for some mischief. One of the new substrate sets is a dimensional plaque. I’ve used both parts separately and the inner part for this mini project.
Obviously this is a hedgehog playground with tug of war and berry fights. You can angle the faces slightly to give more expression and done in different colours they have their own personality too!IMG_6436
For this last project, I’ve used one of the sentiments from the substrate word set plus the back layer of the plaque and one of the animals from the final set. They’re solid MDF and you could just paint them straight off with a decent quality paint, but I added a Gesso layer first. The rabbit had a layer of Gesso, some paint and then I just stamped over the top. This would make a sweet room sign for a new arrival!
Well those are my projects- now for a barrel load of inspiration and the fine print of the blog hop and draw.
Here are the details:
  • Two winners will be chosen at RANDOM from any of the designer’s blogs and the PaperbabeStamps Blog to win.
  • Just leave a comment on any of the designer’s blogs listed below or the Paperbabe stamps blog for your chance to win! (you do not need to comment on all blogs to qualify but it increases your chances)
  • Deadline: You have until midnight on Sunday, 31st July to leave a comment.
  • Please check the Paperbabe Stamps blog on Monday, 1st August to see if you are one of our lucky winners.
Kim has asked some great designers to join in the birthday hop…
Keren –you’re right here!!
You’re off next to my super lovely friend Aimes. I’ve seen her project and it’s gorgeous!
