Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! Happy Monday (or whichever day you visit!) to you. Hope you’re having a lovely day. Today sees the release of Altenew’s latest Craft-A-Flower die set and this month it’s a Peruvian Lily. What a stunning flower and so easy to create using these dies.

For those of you that have come via Laura Jane’s blog, then a big hello to you! If you’d like to the beginning!..please go to Altenew’s Card Blog.

Isn’t it a stunning die set! It might look complicated, but it isn’t really and the diagrams from Altenew are so helpful in giving you the directions for which piece goes where. The hardest part is deciding which colours to choose!

(the following links are affiliate ones. I really appreciate your support x). You can get the Craft-A-Flower Peruvian Lily die set from the Altenew store but maybe you’d like to simplify things and get every monthly release in a discounted subscription (($35.99 →$29.99). If you don’t want to have to try and put coordinating colours together, why not try the discounted Craft-A-flower Peruvian Lily with matching gradient cardstock bundle?

The flower doesn’t need much embellishment…you’ve heard the phrase about gilding the lily 😉 I just used the same coloured strips from creating the flower and put them at angles using different widths onto a tent folded white card. Super easy and quick. Finishing off with some white gel pen dots just adds a little depth and detail to it.

Of course, with every blog hop there are PRIZES to be won..

Giveaway Prizes. There is a total of $200 in prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 6/13/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 06/15/2021.

So it’s time to move along to the next blog, and you’re lucky enough to be going to Verity Biddlecombe’s amazing blog.

August Clearly Besotted Teasers Day 3

Aloha! Welcome to the 3rd day of Sneak Peeks for the Clearly Besotted August release! These flower stamps are the perfect set for creating relaxed floral cards. The set is called ‘Oops A Daisy’. Simple stamping with gorgeous inks will make a quick card. Ok- this one wasn’t very quick due to the fussy cutting- but the stamping was quick enough!!I got my Catherine Pooler inks out (which I really recommend) and stamped a random pattern, allowing the elements to touch each other in places (allowing for easier cutting out1)Then simply get your craft knife out and create a simple cover plate type of element which I added foam pads to and put at an angle onto a contrasting navy blue piece. The sentiment is lovely- I just chopped it up for easy placement and added a couple of Nuvo sequins and drops (Dandelion Yellow). I loved making this card and it’s a great ‘just because’ card to send.Hope you’ve been enjoying what Michelle and Lisa have been creating. Do go and say Hi and see what they’ve been up to… not forgetting the Clearly Besotted blog too!Do come again tomorrow for some more teasers!Keren x

Clearly Besotted July Teasers Day 3

Hello ! Great to see you again with the 3rd day of teasers for July’s release from Clearly Besotted stamps. Clearly Besotted are well loved for their floral stamps and this one is no exception. It”s called Hydrangea Harmony and is a 2-step image that looks great in a variety of colours.

As I was creating this card, I happened to go to a park where there were so many gorgeous hydrangeas- EDITED…these aren’t hydrangeas…but they’re still very gorgeous 😉!

To create this card I simple attached a semicircle of acetate onto the top of the tall tent folded card. This gives an easy structure to attach your blooms but has a little stability too.

There are individual flowers too to add depth to your design. It’s a really tranquil and beautiful set.

I finished off the card with some Nuvo drops to add movement to the design and the sentiment is from last month’s release; Brushed Sentiments

I’ll see you tomorrow with some cute critters. Do visit the Clearly Besotted blog along with Michelle and Lisa’s blog!

Take care,

Keren x

Clearly Besotted June Release Day!

It’s here! Release Day!

I hope you’ve managed to pick your favourites! Which ones are you loving?

I’ve done a quick card for today using the Cooling Off set ( this is a mini set)

There’s nothing like an ice cream van on a hot and sunny day. Kids swarm around and the ’99’ is always a favourite with the super sweet raspberry sauce.

By creating a van shape and trimming out the windows and adding a partial acetate window, I could add the hippo server and his ice-lolly ( or lolly-ice depending on the continent you live in!) into it!

We sometimes have ice cream vans come up our road in the middle of winter, but I have a theory about that 😉. The set lends itself to creating fun scenes and I know you’ll all create amazing things with it!

The release is available at 8pm BST in the Clearly Besotted store and in Simon Says Stamp

I’d love to know which stamps are on your wish-list!

See you soon, and thanks so much for visiting today!

Winnie & Walter May Re-Run

(For the Clearly Besotted Day 2 teaser, please scroll down to the next post!)

Hi! How are you?

Every month, Winnie & Walter have a ‘Rerun’ challenge using a slightly older set and giving it a bit of a workout! This month it’s In Bloom: Addie’s Gardenw_w_inbloomaddie_sgarden_6x8stamp_webprv_large

I decided to make a new technique (well, someone else may have done it, but I’ve just thought of it!) called ‘Artistic painting for cheats!’. (if you’ve got a better name- please comment and I might name it after your suggestion!!)

It’s making a messy arty image using the stamp as your guide but NOT sticking to the lines! Here’s how I began. Stamp and heat emboss the images (I’ve done a little masking too). Leave some of the flecks of the powder on the piece- it really adds to the finished texture of the look.

You can see I’d started to lay down some white- just add messy strokes of paint with a thick brush, not worrying if you go beyond the lines- just get a base down that looks like the shape of the stamped images. I’ve used acrylic paint for this. Then add some detail- don’t overthink, just go for light and dark shades/tints to give an illusion of shape. I’m not an artist, and granted- this technique is best viewed from a slight distance!

IMG_5127You can see how by adding a crisp Cutaway ‘Hello’ sentiment, it brings it back to a more contemporary look. Notice also that because you’ve embossed the image, it will still show through the paint, adding more detail too!IMG_5132

Hope you like my new idea- do join in with the Rerun challenge- there’s a prize up for grabs too! Head over to the blog and check it out!

See you soon! xx

Clearly Besotted Stamps Teaser Day 3

It’s March- and I’m really delighted to be back sharing with the Clearly Besotted Stamp’s March releaseTeaser Time

You already must know that Clearly Besotted do flower stamps so exquisitely. Well this ‘From All of Us’ set is the perfect example.

There are 3 flower images plus some lovely scripty sentiments. I’ve mirrored the images

and coloured in using Prismacolor pencils.IMG_4174

My second set for today is using the same set but in a different way and using some of the other flowers in the set.IMG_4300 (1)

These bluebells immediately make me think of shady woods and floors crammed with a carpet of bluebells. They are a stunning design aren’t they?. I’ve masked a couple of them to give them a grouping.IMG_4304

I’ve coloured these with Zig Clean Color markers and I white embossed the flowers first.

I know that Stephanie and the team will have tonnes of inspiration for you so please pop over to the blog and see what loveliness they’ve all created.

If you’re not a regular to this blog or to Clearly Besotted’s release programme. We’ll be posting every day up to and including March 5th, when at 10pm GMT they’ll be available to purchase.

I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 4 of the Teasers..tomorrow we’re going cute- and cute with bells on!!

Clearly Besotted Teasers Day 3

Hi! How are you?

Welcome to Day 3 (well its kinda Day 4 on the Clearly Besotted blog) but this is my 3rd day of posting!

Today, I’ve gone from yesterday’s slightly ridiculous to today’s slightly sublime!

First up…Round Roses.

A totally beautifully two step stamping set.

The roses come in 3 different sizes and the leaves are two step too. You get a circle shape that you stamp in one colour and then the top image for the floral-ly definition.

I don’t know what happened to the colours as the yellow flowers look a little radioactive! It was only once I viewed them on the blog I realised the problem- but it was too late then!

Next up…You Are Wonderful.

Well yes, absolutely. You totally and completely are wonderful for coming to visit here, but that’s the name of the stamp set too 😉

Aren’t these blooms amazing? Clearly Besotted stamps does flowers so sublimely. I chose a more unusual palette for this card. The tulips are just lovely. I’ve coloured the flowers from the next 3 cards in 3 different ways. This card is using Copics/Shin Han and Promarkers (because I can!!!- and I’ve a limited palette in just one range so I just use them all!!)

I’ve added tiny dots with white gel pen. They really help bring the flowers alive.

Now-next up are the daffs. I tried using some Aquamarkers that I’d recently got and colouring them on heat embossed vellum. I love the soft look that it gives.

Last up… the same daffodils heat embossed onto white cardstock with the same Aquamarkers. I’m still finding my way with these and they’re not my preferred ‘watercolouring’ type medium but with a little more playing I might just love them!

I hope you can see just how versatile this little You Are Wonderful set is. For an A6 set, it certainly packs a punch and you’ll love the accompanying sentiments.

Do go and see the Clearly Besotted Design Team’s samples. Stephanie’s will be on the blog too.

They’re available tomorrow evening from 10pm (GMT) and I’ll be back tomorrow morning sharing my last samples!

Thanks for visiting
