Clearly Besotted February Teasers Day 2

Hi there! Hope you’re warmer than I am currently! The thaw towards spring shows no sign of coming but instead I will just craft about it instead!

I promised you a ‘spring’ project and so here it is!

Aren’t these little animals gorgeous!! The set is called ‘spring Plushies’ and so I focussed on the springs! 😂

I simply got a bunch of different coloured wires and wrapped them around a kitchen skewer ( full of clever craft tools, me!). Then trim to the desired length and attach to the back. I added them to the tent folded card with some strong ‘red’ double sided tape and then added the grass and the top stamped layer with foam pads.

It makes me smile just looking at it. Perfectly happy little critters boinging around. Makes me wonder if we’d all be happier on springs too!

Do pop across to the Clearly Besotted blog then do visit

See you tomorrow for a little relaxed reading!

Clearly Besotted March Release Day!

Teaser Time

Well, we made it…it’s Release Day! Tonight you can purchase the entire release at 10pm (GMT) from the Clearly Besotted Store, Simon Says Stamp and Ellen Hutson .

But whilst you wait for the hours to pass- here’s a couple of last projects. The first using the ‘Best Easter’ set. IMG_4218Because these guys are balloons, this set is useful waaay past Easter. In fact, once you see the sentiment, the ‘Have the Best’ is separate so you could easily put in ‘Birthday’ etc so it becomes a superbly versatile set.IMG_4222

The little balloons were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured in with Prismacolor pencils. I’m still getting used to these pencils, but they are easy to use, albeit they need a little more working time to get shading etc. I think for the soft textural look they give, it’s worth the extra time.IMG_4221

The balloons are actually attached to acetate and the strings glued both behind the balloons and on top of the front of the card. You’ve probably gathered that I like acetate a LOT!

Anyway! The second sample is a mix-up of ‘From All of Us’ and a brilliantly useful sentiment set called ‘So To Speak II’. I’ve used the stamps to create a pseudo brick wall and used it as a background to add the flowers to.FullSizeRender (3)

It makes more of a feature of the sentiment in a different way. Yes, forgive the slightly ‘leaked’ colouring. It was late…what can I say?! No excuses huh!!

The flowers are stunning stamps aren’t they!

Thankyou so much for joining me again. Please pop over to the Clearly Besotted Stamp Blog and see lots more creative inspiration using these sets!

I have loved seeing new faces over here, and thanks for your continued support!!

Easter with Lawn Fawn & Cleaning

So, I got playing last night. Just for fun. Doesn’t happen much. I was supposed to be working. Oops.
Having done tons of ‘other’ stuff ( more on that later), I hadn’t had chance to crack out Cole’s ABC’s dies. I wanted to try a new hanging technique- nope, not on my hubby (!) but by die cutting the sentiment, leaving the negative as a ‘shadow’ and then hanging the letters on top. It’s so new, I kinda just created it! So I guess it would come under the Lawnscaping ‘try something new’ challenge here ( he he!)

You can see better what I’ve done in that pic. Lining up the hanging letters was such fun ( not). I’ve actually used several sets; Happy Trails ( for the ‘happy’, and Hello Sunshine for the hearts and dashed line. I’ve popped some ‘Let’s Polka’ & ‘Hello Sunshine’ paper on there too.
I didn’t have many bunny stamps. I’ve the Mama Elephant ‘Honey Bunny’ set and I’ve plans for that next week.

With only having 3 kids at home at the mo (the other two return Saturday), life is much more relaxed. So much so that I had chance to sit and gaze out of my windows.
Dearie me.
They’re shocking.
Steve was skitting me as I cleaned them with white vinegar. The room smelled a little like a Fish and Chip shop but at least the windows are somewhat better. There’s just the rest of the house to do.
I also had a bash at the carpets. Took all day. I don’t know how people keep their houses so beautifully – I struggle to keep mine tidy never mind beautifully clean.
I’m a little worried now.
Everytime I get ahead- and tidy and lots of things organised, something tends to come a cropper.
Last time was a couple of weeks back and Steve got taken into hospital. I’m just enjoying the semi-clean feeling and wishing I had a maid and cleaner.
Ha ha.
Can you imagine.
Downton Abbey eat your heart out.
Thing is, they’d quit. With the noise, bustle and kids mess they’d hand in their notice before the week was out.
Guess it’s down to me.
I keep roping the kids in, but they make even more mess straight after!!

Here’s to happy kids and clean homes. I’m not sure I can do both! Any tips for me- I’m all ears!

See you when I’ve enjoyed my last day of calm until two suitcases of dirty washing returns! x
