Dazzling Divas Challenge #72

Yay for a beautiful day! The mood board comes with the theme of Mothers Day ( obviously it’s in the US, as we’ve already had it!)

I went with the colours and the theme. Who doesn’t like a dress? Well- maybe some of you. And pink? Wouldn’t catch me in pink dress ever, but it makes an OK card!! I’ve used an XCut die and cut the skirt portion out again and curved and bent it to create the 3D full skirt effect. Really easy!

I’ve used these beautiful metal colours, Perfect Peacock, Princess Pink and Lovely Lavender.

The stamped ‘Mum’ is using some stamps from PaperArtsy.

The challenge with all the other Design Team’s lovely images is here. You’ll want to go and see what they’ve come up and hopefully have a go yourself!

I’ll be back shortly with a fun project using butterflies and acetate!

See you soon x

Dazzling Diva Challenge #70

Hi! Hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter. The challenge over at Add A Little Dazzle is this mood board. I was inspired by the navy old sign in the top left

It’s using a set by Waltzingmouse Stamps called Old Country Roses  and I’ve used Black Diamond metal

I simply scrunched up a piece of metal, flattened it out and put it through my diecutting machine to flatten in further.

Then add some double sided tape to the back- stick it down on the card base at an angle and emboss around the edges with an embossing tool to create the illusion of a frame.

Then I simply sanded lightly and where the metal has been scrunched it sands away nicely.

Do join in with the challenge- it’s about how the mood board inspires you. You’ve a week to join your makes in the linky here

I’ll be back tomorrow with my make for Make The Day Special stamp store.

Ps- amazingly we’ve still got eggs left in the house. I’ve not touched any of mine which is more of a comment on how busy I’ve been rather than my non existent will power!

Dazzling Diva’s Challenge No. 54

54Hi! I know, it’s me again ūüėČ

It’s ¬†a challenge all about snow or snowflakes. I went with snowflakes and added a pop of red.five
Here’s how I created the dimension- firstly by making a file in Studio (Silhouette software) and cutting it out from cardstock. I turned it over, added the metal to the back and carefully burnished with one of the tools to push the metal all the way into the apertureone
Next turn it over, and tadaaa.. gorgeous dimension (not to mention the shine!!)

Next- I added the cut out heart from the centre of the ‘o’ after adhering Scarlet Red metal to the back. By turning it¬†over and repeating the burnishing process- you get this look with the heart slightly sunken in and the metal rising from the edges of the heart.
I’ve used these metal colours and you buy them from hereBaby Blue
You¬†can I’ve added glitter into the cut out¬†word and also a vinyl cut out onto the snowflake.
It would be great if you joined in with the challenge this week
challengepicClick the challenge image and go and see what the other teamies have created. It’s worth joining as there’s always a store credit prize to win each week.. and then you can have a go at the tons of ways of incorporating metal into your crafting.

See you very very soon, with some family funnies & some offerings using some very gorgeous sprout tape I happened upon recently!!

Add A Little Dazzle & Neat & Tangled Blog Hop Day 5!

bhshine1Welcome to the final day of the Blog Hop. I really hope you’ve enjoyed the fab projects that the girls from both teams have posted.
My final project is just a bit of fun. When I¬†opened this stamp set, ‘Gifts For¬†You’,¬†I was puzzling about what to create with it
I wanted initially to create an Andy Warhol-esque project, with different coloured backgrounds and hair colours and then whilst messing around with creating coloured hair, I finalised on this one. Again, as the hair was a solid stamp, you don’t have the luxury of simply stamping in a colour and cutting out, or the metal wouldn’t be seen. Likewise, stamp the image on the reverse of the metal and your image is the wrong way around once you turn the metal the correct way around. I used the stamping onto metal with Versamark technique, adding the clear embossing powder, heating to set (mind your fingers, the metal gets hot quickly) and then I have a line to cut around with the edge of the embossing but it still allows the colour and shine of the metal to be seen.

For the photo booth look and sentiment I’ve used the Photo Booth set

I’ve used Baby Blue & Pucker Me Pink¬†craft metal a diddly bit of Outrageous Orange for the bow tie!

The boy and girl are fun images and the set is designed to create gorgeous tags too.

Here’s the rest of the list. I’m at the end, so just start at the beginning!
