Dazzling Diva’s Challenge #71

Post no.2.

Hope I’m not clogging up your feeds! Dazzling Diva challenge today from Add A Little Dazzle

I went literal again…focussed on those gorgeous peaches!

But what’s a girl to do when she has no peaches? ….use BALLOONS!

See the round balloons? I just stamped them in a light orange, trimmed around cutting the balloon knot off and then using the little white area as the indentation at the top of the peach!  Add in the colours of peaches using some Copics and then add in the metal!

The blue looks great as leaves when contrasted with the orange and I’ve used the Trio of Happy dies for the sentiment in the Princess Pink metal.

Want to have a go? No metal required. Just create using the photo as inspiration and a $15 voucher for the store could be winging its way to you. You’ve a week to enter..what are you waiting for?!!!

Hope you’re all having a lovely wet and dreary day like me!! I’ll be back soon with a tale of the missing glasses!

Dazzling Diva Challenge #62

Hi! This week’s challenge is a colour challenge. We’ve all used Dark Chocolate and Scarlet Red metals

IMG_7175 the picture is very cute and I know it might be hard to see on the picture, but the dark chocolate ( apart from the little heart) is actually pleated on the right hand side of the card-this metal pleats so easily!

IMG_7170 I decided to use some Lawn Fawn dies and wanted to utilise two fonts and treat each font as a shaker element but with different shaker contents! After I cut out the sentiment, I carefully pushed some Scarlet red metal through the heart aperture and rubbed until the heart has dimension and stands a little proud of the cardstock aperture.
If you’re worried about the dimension being squished in transit, you can add in some embossing paste to fill it in.
Wonder if embossing paste would do wonders for my wrinkles too! ūüėČ
The diecut section is backed with acetate, each area surrounded with foam pads/strips, the shaker element added and then encapsulated with some card on the reverse. Despite it looking gold, the stars and micro beads are actually silver.
Micro beads!! Remember them?!! I’ve a little stash from when we were all using them a few years ago!
If you’d like to join in- pop here, leave your photo of any project inspired by the photo – and you don’t need to use metal either!
Enjoy joining in!!

Diva Challenge #61

challenge61Brrr. It’s a freezing Wednesday and the challenge is a photo inspiration- I’ve gone a vague Valentine 5
I thought I might show you how easy it is to do embossing without a die-cutting machine. First I made a template that was supposed to be mittens but looked rather like Oven Gloves ūüėČ Cut them out after tracing onto the metal.
photo 1
Next, lay them onto the embossing folder, close the folder and use a rolling pin with plenty of pressure!
photo 2
And..ta-daah.. perfectly embossed metal with no equipment!
photo 3
The stamps are all from WPlus9 -stamped in London Fog (Memento) and Pale Tomato (Hero Arts)To create the little heart I added glue to some Lawn Fawn twine and held it in the heart shape until it dries. I’ve added some Scarlet Red hearts with the Wondrous White mittens.

Dazzling Diva Challenge #60

Happy Wednesday- the week is flying (or blowing by- it’s a good job I’m not super-thin or I’d be whisked off my feet in this wind!!). For this week- the challenge is to make a 3D flower. I attempted one and was too embarrassed to have put¬†it on here so tried again and was happier with this version!
This flower is made by stamping a flower from a set by Indigo Blu twice onto Black Diamond metal

This metal is more matt than most of the other types, but either way, its easy to emboss onto it using Versamark and I’ve used some Wild Wasabi embossing powder (Stampin’Up!). There’s a not funny story with this stamp set. I’d put up some stamps and dies for sale & sold this set yesterday. I just quickly stamped two of the flowers before I cleaned them and packaged them away and then this morning Monica (who owns Add A Little Dazzle) asked me what on earth I was doing selling the set.

Yup- silly idea- but its too late, the guy has paid for and bought this set- I’m sure he’ll get lots of joy from it (&, isn’t it nice seeing a man stamper has bought it!!)

indiflowerThe metal is trimmed and wound around a paintbrush to give the spirals & then some strips of black and silver cardstock. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.

challengepicDo join in- you don’t have to use metal, and there’s a fab voucher up for grabs for the winner- post any projects link to this post and you have until next¬†Tuesday to enter. 3D flowers are brilliant fun creating- the only problem is how am I going to get this in the post?!! I think this will have to be a ‘hand-delivered’ one or maybe I have to make a box to transport in!!

See you soon- stay safe and stay warm!!

Dazzling Diva Challenge #59

Hi! Happy Wednesday to you all!
We’ve got a challenge to use ‘music’ somewhere in our projects and also kinda sneak in a Valentine Day theme if we can
I’ve done a 3D effort- similar to a card I did back with Gallery Idol- it was really quick to make and uses Scarlet Red metal for the tiny hearts
You can see more clearly how I’ve done it- spot the error in the photo!
Yes- I took the photo before completing it- I realised that it really needed a sentiment. All dies and stamps are Lawn Fawn.
Do join in- we’re getting some fabulous weekly entries- just join in here¬†and you could win a voucher to spend on lovely Add A Little Dazzle goodies
See you tomorrow- with some more Winnie & Walter! xx

Dazzling Diva Challenge #57

Hey! A new year..a new challenge. I’ve not half struggled getting back into the swing of it all. Wednesday means the challenge is up..and it’s this inspirational photo.
I went a little mad!
To make this I’ve used Golden Glimmer, and used a file from the Silhouette online shop.

Golden GlimmerIt took a little while to construct. First I cut out the¬†Glimmer Gold with my Silhouette Cameo. I then backed it with some acetate to give the front of the card¬†some stability. I traced some similar sized circles so I could create a back piece for the shaker part.¬†For the stamping I’ve used some Winnie & Walter stamp sets;¬†The Big, The Bold & You and Big, Bang, Bling.

I stamped the sequins and the sentiment before adding foam pads around the outside. Sprinkle in some glitter, mini-beads and sequins and stick it to the back of the inside of the clock. Then I simply cut out the outline of the shape in black cardstock and attached it to the top of the clock so the card could stand up.
photo 5
I used my new light tent that I got for my Birthday- and despite it only being an iphone and I’ve still got to tweak the set-up, it’s not done badly considering it was pitch black outside.

Back to the challenge!challengepicDo join’s simply an inspirational challenge- whatever inspires you from the picture. Link up here– it would be great to see how you can use metal craft sheets, but it’s not a requirement. Just add the tag Dazzling Diva Challenge #57 if you’re linking up from an online photo gallery or simply link up your blog. There’s a $15 voucher up for grabs- so get creating.

Winnie and Walter are having a big Birthday bash over at their blog here
I’ve added this into the sketch challenge.
See the circles and the two banner shapes- they look a little like clock hands don’t they!!!

I’ll be back soon xx

Add A Little Dazzle Diva’s Challenge #55!

dd55heart1 Hey! I know, two posts at once! And I forgot to post one yesterday that will have to come tomorrow!!!

I’ve chosen to make an ornament. I picked up some of these slate hearts dirt cheap recently to use as present tags. They may be a little heavy to use as that- but they’ll make cute ornaments for my home!
I’ve just sketched the letters in pencil and then added gold gel pen to pad out each word! Super easy!

I’ve used Glimmer Gold and Black Diamond metal

Please link up here Рpull out your crafting supplies and make a project using a White & Gold theme. Then, share it with us by linking to the bottom of the post.  You have until Tuesday, December 16th to enter.  The winner will receive a $15 Metal voucher for the store.

Do join in and see what all the fuss about metal is!

See you tomorrow!

Dazzling Diva Challenge 51!

Hi! Back for another challenge. ..No.51none the less!

Can you see where I got my inspiration from? I picked a more unusual element; actually my eyes were drawn straight there. I think it’s the graphic look lover in me! Anyhow, here’s what I did with it!

Actually, it was rather more finicky than I’d anticipated. The stamp set is a gorgeous one from Waltzingmouse Stamps & the leaves are from a new XCut set. I’ll post the links later- I’m just dashing out now!

Do join in here. It’s open for a week, so that gives you plenty of time!

I’ve used Brushed Copper & Brushed Bronze. This metal stuff is quite addictive! Do grab some- you’ll love it- particularly on your Christmas projects!

Will pop back with the correct links- have to dash for the school run!

Catch you later

Add A Little Dazzle & CAS-ual Fridays Blog Hop Day 5

Add a Little Dazzle and CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog Hop-Day #5! We are back with another exciting day for you. This week we are collaborating with Casual Fridays Stamps. This company has an amazing line of stamps and dies and we are excited to have teamed up with them. Join us this week as we share some awesome projects combining their amazing product line with Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets. It’s been fun, inspirational, and we have prizes for you!

I’ve used CAS-ual Friday’s stamps before on the blog. Their stamps are a mix of funny, bold and modern. Their sentiments are always well thought through & their dies are fab too! Do go and check them out here.

My project is something clean and graphic
using In The Cards set and matching die set, Shuffle Fri-dies

I’ve combined these with Scarlet Red¬†& Wondrous White craft metal.

It’s easy- like paper-piecing but with metal. Just cut out the playing card shape, die cut the spade from the centre & die cut a separate red spade and then fit them together. I love black, white and red so the bold look was easy with black cardstock stripes!

I’ve also created this super-duper-tiny notebook- out of the Shuffle Fri-dies. Just perfect for those phone numbers and little notes! It only measures a few centimetres each way and I’ve attached the pages together with a little metal strip.

Time to hop.. go and enjoy the other great projects!
