Clearly Besotted August Release- Part 4

Hi there!

Welcome to any of you who are new here. It’s the final day (for the moment) for my projects using the latest Clearly Besotted August release.

This card is all about the Peacock using the perfectly titled Strut Your Stuff stamp set. When I saw these peacocks, I imagined one of them holding a balancing pole and walking confidently over the city skyline on a rope wire.

I’ve used the Scene It set to create the backdrop- loosely colouring it at the bottom and using alcohol markers to give some perspective.

Had I thought well enough about the whole scene, I’d have added the rope wire at an angle across the page. The horizontal line is too exact and doesn’t add depth to the picture.

The adorable guy was coloured in Prismacolors and I cut into his hands with a craft knife and slotted the pole into them. The sentiment was spot on for the scene and he looks proud as a peacock (ahemm..) to be doing so well. His balance is perfect and with the right poise he’ll make it all the way over without falling off!

I do hope you’ve had a good look at the new sets here and have had a little inspiration from the lovely Design Team plus Stephanie & Jenny.

I’ve loved creating with the sets; these stamps always give me the craziest ideas!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week!

Clearly Besotted August Release-Part 3

Hello again!

I’ve really enjoyed hearing across social media how much you’re loving the sets. We’ve done ‘garden’ and floral and today is…mischief!

Having a little cat myself, I know what sorts of trouble they can get themselves in, and this little kitty is no exception. The set is called Fluffy Furball. It’s another smaller set but with 3 main images plus sentiments means the images are still a great size.

I seem to rarely do CAS, and I pictured the little fella knocking over a vase. Not having a vase or bowl, I turned to the Simply Succulent set which usefully has a bowl and used that instead. I’ve coloured him in with Nuvo Aquaflow, which I’ve already told you are fabulous. He really does look like he’s sorry…after the fact though!!

My second daft scene incorporates two of the kitties and one annoying the other by teasing her with a toy mouse. I’m not sure whether she’s scared or exasperated, but either way, it made me smile creating it.

The door card was simply made by just adding 4 rectangles to give the illusion of a door. A brad for the handle and pop the little cats on afterwards. The cats were coloured with alcohol markers ( in case you’re wondering!)

Really simple!

I do hope you’ve enjoyed the feline fun and call back tomorrow for the final day ( consecutive at least- I’ll be creating some more projects shortly!) and this time a plucky little peacock trying to balance everything!

See you soon!

Clearly Besotted Release Day

Welcome back to the last set of projects before the August release later today.

I’ve created two altogether simpler designs, proving that these designs speak for themselves so well with little adornment.

Firstly, ‘Be Lucky’

IMG_6577

Just love this set, with its wonderfully affirming sentiments. These little guys are enjoying themselves just hanging out on rainbows. I guess if I was perched on one, I’d probably be very happy too!

and, oh, that unicorn!!

IMG_6578

Next, one of the most cute sets this release; ‘Peekaboo’

IMG_6579

This is created principally as a baby congrats set, but I can see scope for sending to friends too. I have a very good friend who is uncannily like me in her tastes. I reckon this card would be perfect to send to her. I think I might add more clothes to the little guys or she might think I was really odd! (I know she thinks that already!)

IMG_6580

I love the way you can use them so simply and they still pack a punch!

All these fab stamps and dies will be available in the store and also at Simon Says Stamp and Ellen Hutson tonight at 10pm BST.

Hope you’ve enjoyed all of these teasers. Do pop over to see Stephanie and the rest of the girls over on the blog. It’s been wonderful having Rubeena & Jen this month- do pop over and see them too!

I’d love to know which has been your favourite set so far!

See you soon

Clearly Besotted Teasers Day 4

Teaser Time

Hey!

I’ve really enjoyed going to visit the girls’ blogs to see what they’ve done with the sets! The Clearly Besotted August sets are all released tomorrow, but whilst you’re waiting, here’s a couple more projects to whet your appetite!

IMG_6552

Bird Bath is a mini A7 set, and those birds are characters! Looking at the sentiments which are quite wide-ranging, the birthday one set me thinking.

When its your Birthday, you sometimes got ‘birthday bumps’. Obviously the birds might find that problematic, but not so a swift dunking.

That cheeky chap grabbed the birds feet and plopped him into the nearest bath.

IMG_6545

The others were just watching and tweeting ‘Happy Bird-day’ to give full effect!

This next one is using the ‘Good To Be Bad’.

Obviously I’m not condoning being bad ;-), and these girls are just having a fun selfie.

If you look carefully, you’ll see a 3D selfie stick coming out of the card.

IMG_6550

One of my daughters wondered why exactly the girl in the middle wasn’t actually holding the selfie stick. Pfft. Details!

I explained that she had a new device called a ‘waist belt selfie stick’.

I know, she didn’t believe it either!

IMG_6551

I do hope these have made you smile a little. Do pop over to see what Stephanie, the lovely guests this month Jen Nelson & Rubeena Naz and of course, my teamies have come up with!

See you tomorrow

Clearly Besotted August Teasers Day 3

Teaser Time

Hey! How are you?

Welcome back to some more teasers. I’m just doing one set today, the beautiful English Rose set.

IMG_6570

I’ve used it as it’s intended with the second two projects, but for this first one, I’ve heat embossed the middle image of the 3-step image and simply added some colour using Zig Clean Color Markers.

IMG_6571

The sentiment is from the really useful ‘Message Me’. It gives a different vibe to the set- much more subtle and gentle.

Second up is how they’re supposed to be stamped.

Well, ahem.. possibly. I haven’t lined them up perfectly but thankfully they’re designed to be a little forgiving!

IMG_6572

Yes, and purple? I really don’t like purple, so what possessed me to stamp in purple I do not know. It might’ve had something to do with the fact that it was the only colour combo I had that looked ok!!

IMG_6573

Isn’t it a beautiful set?! I’ve just added a few little splashes of colour and left it alone.

Next up, same colour combo and using them as a filler rather than the main focus.

IMG_6574I love that Hello shaker die– it’s so useful, even when you’re not using it as a shaker. Apologies about the photos- the light wasn’t playing ball and with the kids all off, my time to fix it has been really limited!

IMG_6575

Hoping you can get a good idea of the set, with or without dodgy pictures!

Do pop back tomorrow for more teasers, but before that, please visit the blog and see what the other girls have created!

Clearly Besotted August Teasers Day 2

Teaser Time

Hi! Welcome to Day 2 of Clearly Besotted Teasers!

There are wonderful sets as usual and today, I’m showing you a couple of scene cards using the Hip Hop Hooray set and Deer To Me.

First up..The Vikings (Hip Hop Hooray)IMG_6553

When I think of the Vikings, I think of Up Helly Aa and viking boat burning (& other inaccuracies) and well, I just thought they wouldn’t make a very good scene ;-). My next thought was’BIG’. Well, for some reason, I equate big to Vikings…and when I looked at the stamp set and saw all the food, I imagined a giant sized table fit to bursting.

I thought having the table 3D and using acetate as the base would be fun, and naturally the baby wanted to sit on the chicken. The little dog called Ving, was hovering around for scraps, which would come eventually (the chicken leg is just a trimmed off part of the chicken stamp).

IMG_6556

All in all, it made me rather hungry! The table is simply an embossed piece of brown cardstock and adhered to a tent folded acetate base. Granted, the baby is NOT drinking beer, but it’s there simply for artistic effect!

Next up, an entirely more tranquil scene.

Or maybe not.

Think of deers, frolicking in the forest, with lots of beautiful scenery to play amongst?IMG_6554

Or maybe, they just have fun with redundant logs and tree stumps that the humans haven’t purloined just quite yet! It was whilst trying to make the scene work (I colour and cut out the elements and then play around with the shapes), that one of the trees was lying on my desk at an angle, and I thought ‘seesaw’!IMG_6555

The wreaths around their necks are just the bush flowers stamped and cut out. I’ve cut out around the legs so I could slot them onto the see-saw more realistically.

Who knows what the deer get up whilst we’re not looking?!

Please go and join Stephanie and the rest of the DT, with special guests Jen Nelson and Rubeena Naz over on the blog. You’re sure to be blown away!

See you tomorrow for some more sneak peeks!

Clearly Besotted Sneak Peeks Day 4 !

81ad6-teaser2btimeWelcome back to the last fun day of previews before you can be let loose in the Clearly Besotted Stamp store for the release which goes live tomorrow at 10pm (GMT).

Today, I’ve used two sets to make 2 very different cards. The first is using ‘Make A Splash’photo 1-73 copy 5 It’s a brilliantly fun set. I envisaged this little dolphin playing and leaping out of the water. On closer inspection of the set (which you’ll see in full tomorrow), there is a ripple you can stamp in the water- but in just cutting out the outer ring, it created the perfect ‘hoop’ for little dolphin to sail through.photo 2-71 copy 5 You can see the dimension of the elements in that photo- courtesy of some little acetate squares. It lifts them right out of the card and I’ve also used acetate strips to extend the card beyond the usual and add in the clouds. It’s a clever little trick that stops the card looking cluttered but is slightly tricky fitting the card into an envelope 😉photo 3-40 I dug out some old micro beads (remember those?!) and used them to accentuate the waves which were created with distress ink. Stamp some fun drops of water and you’re done!

Onto the next set- the stunning ‘Beautiful Friend’.

It’s got a couple of beautiful sprays in the set, and I just added touches of watercolour (well, water based markers to be precise)photo 4-27 copy 3

I added some white gel pen detailing and some stripes to bring the colour scheme together.photo 5-15 copy 3Hasn’t this release been amazing? It’s not finished yet though- do go and visit the other girl’s blogs and you’ll be wowed!

I will be back tomorrow on Release Day with another project for you, so do check back tomorrow.

Thank you for all your kind comments and hello to all of the lovely new visitors!

See you tomorrow then!
