Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 4

Hello, and welcome back to Day 4. I hope you’ve enjoyed these sneak peeks so far. Today we have a magical fairytale themed card.

Aren’t these ponies/unicorns gorgeous. The set is called ‘Freshwater Friends’ and has a beautiful scenery image complete with waterfall. I’ve just picked out the ponies because they reminded me of ‘My Little Ponies’. I loved picking out the colours for their manes.

For the background, I have used the Branch Out Stencil by adding some Broken China Distress Ink through the stencil and then tracing around the stencil edges using a fine black marker. This is another way to use your stencils and they almost look like stamps! I’ve added lots of Itty Bitty Stars from Little Things By Lucy’s Cards to make it a little more magical.

You can see the extra lines to the left of the stencil which I’ve just used a blue alcohol pen to give dimension.

I’ve added a frame using a stitched die set (Tonic Studios) I trimmed out some green grass and positioned it behind the frame and added the stencilled piece behind it. I added the sentiment to the frame and then added it using foam pads onto the card bases.

This set is called Freshwater Friends but also containing otters- so it’s a really versatile set.

We have so much more inspiration to see yet – so please visit the Clearly Besotted blog then Michelle, Lisa plus don’t forget to visit Francine Vuilleme & Kitty Day .

I’m back again for Release Day tomorrow- wahooo!

Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 3

Hello again, Hope you’re well. Today we’re showcasing the set ‘Colour My World’. It’s a cute chameleon along with rainbows.

I love the rainbows and wanted the chameleon to be sitting on the world on a rainbow. So I dug out the Over The Rainbow set. I stamped that using different inks onto the base card. I then stamped the chameleon and coloured him in.

I thought he should have a multi coloured tail to match the rainbow. Aren’t the images just adorable. It was all coloured with alcohol markers.

I love the sentiment and am glad that our lives can be filled with colour. There are lots of images to choose from in this set- you’re going to love it!

It’s time to head over to Clearly Besotted’s blog then Lisa, Michelle plus pop over to Francine Vuilleme & Kitty Day

I hope you’ll me again tomorrow,

Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 2

Hello! I’m glad you enjoyed yesterday’s set. Today is another fun one starring a sentiment as the whole concept behind the card and two tiny fish. The sentiment is from the new set ‘Brighter Days’ and the little fish..from ‘Freshwater Friends’. When I saw the sentiment I knew exactly what type of card I was going to create..

It’s a really simple card. One you can make with two basic punches or circle dies. You just need a white frame. I added acetate behind but it’s not necessary. I used the negative left from diecutting the frame to colour in some water with alcohol markers and stamp and colour the fish.

The towel is (oddly enough!) a piece of towel. I just added some red liner tape behind the frame and attached it and the towel to the tent folded card base.

I tried to make it more realistic by adding details on the handle using scrap pieces and also mimicked the washing buttons to the right of the sentiment. It took my husband a little while to work out that it was a washing machine, so I’m hoping you have better luck πŸ˜‰

I have a friend in mind who this would be perfect for (she’s no fan of laundry either!!). It’s time to head over to Clearly Besotted’s blog then Michelle, Lisa plus the lovely Francine Vuilleme & Kitty Day

See you tomorrow to meet a fun little guy!

Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 1

Hello lovely friends. Hope that you’re well and enjoying edging ever nearer to summer and sunshine! It’s Teasers time and we have some wonderful new sets to show you. Today’s set is perfectly topical and is called ‘Zoom In Party’. Is there anyone you know who hasn’t tried Zoom or some similar software?! We’ve all had to overcome not liking being virtually connected and I’m sure we’ve all got funny stories. Mine today is an Easel card…I actually have liked easel cards (even when they were trendy) but this one is perfect for the occasion.

There are a bunch of details to talk about. Firstly, if you want to make this yourself, it’s easy. Take a piece of cardstock 29cm x 15cm. Score along the long side at 9cm and 17cm. The larger end is where you’ll pop your faux keyboard on and the opposite end where you’ll attach a 14cm x 12cm piece of grey cardstock (this is the screen). I actually mitred the corners of 4 pieces of cardboard which was actually pretty stupid- just add a piece of white cardstock onto the grey piece (quicker, and much less faffy!).

Here’s the screen. Rather than line up each stamp, I just peeled the back acetate piece away carefully and stuck the 9 straight onto the stamp block. I’m always one for a shortcut. But, you could easily stamp, trim and position onto a piece of card. I did feel my card was missing one realistic part- the buffering sign. I’ve lost count of the amounts of times I’ve been kicked out of a Zoom meeting (not for misbehaving, mind) but because our internet is so rubbish. So I drew on the buffering sign to give it some authenticity!

The keyboard was just strips of grey cardstock. It’s not precise- there are keys missing but the main idea is idea. You do need to put the strip nearest the fold on using foam pads as this is what keeps the easel from collapsing. I used two…just to be fancy πŸ˜‰

The sentiments included in the set are perfect for this time- but once we’ve all stopped using Zoom as much, you can still use this set as stand alone images.

If you fancy making one, this is what it should look like on the side. The ‘screen’ will stick up past the ‘easel’ part and you will need a bigger than normal envelope. I can also imagine this type of card for teens or boys with their favourite game or name on the screen. So many possibilities!

It’s time to visit Clearly Besotted’s blog then Michelle, Lisa and we’re welcoming Francine Vuilleme back plus it’s lovely to have Kitty Day guesting too.

See you tomorrow,
