Altenew April 2022 Spring Garden Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)
Hello everyone! Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! I’m back celebrating a fun new release from Altenew involving dies, hot foil plates and stencils. You may have arrived from the blog of the lovely Laura Jane but if you want to start at the beginning, please head to Altenew’s card blog.
There are lots of wonderful new products including some Ultra Sticky Double Sided Tape which is going to be soo useful! I chose a couple of dies and one of the new hot foil plates to get creative with. I picked the Antique Blossoms die and Chevron Background Hot Plate.
I don’t do a lot of foiling, but this plate foiled easily and beautifully. I love the contrast between the foil and the dark blue. It delivers a gorgeous precise result. With having the chevron design, once it’s foiled, there is some leftover foil with the negative design, which I decided to turn into a second project. There’s an easy way to do it using a foil plate that comes with the Gemini Junior.
Once the leftover foil was transferred onto white cardstock, I simply added die cuts from the Itty Bitty Branches die cut from white cardstock. I also used the Hello Hugs die and added some black and pink dots to add depth. Such an easy technique and you could easily do this on a plain gold piece of cardstock if you don’t do hot foiling. Hot foiling is such a lot of fun, it’s worth trying it!
You can purchase anything from the new collection here. Here’s what the the new double sided sticky tape looks like too. Isn’t it nice having essential products that look beautiful too.

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: African Daisy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hi everyone! Hasn’t it been a great few days with the Altenew 8th Birthday celebrations? Do check out the Birthday post (scroll down) for more details. Today we’re onto something new and beautiful; the latest Craft-A-Flower which is the lovely African Daisy. You may want to begin at the beginning, which is at Altenew’s card blog here, but if you’ve come to my blog via Cheryl Espie then a massive hello!
(all the following links are affiliate ones, thankyou so much)
Here’s what I created using this new set.

The red makes it a real attention grabber doesn’t it. Isn’t it such a glorious flower? It’s really easy to put together and there are different stems- but not that long- so I’ve hidden the cut stems behind the lower flowers- an easy trick! I love playing around with angles so attached the matt layer sticking out. Changing angles just draws the eye around your card design.
You can get hold of this special African Daisy die set here which depending on the colours that you choose, can look like nearly any flower. Add a few more layers of petals and you’ve a entirely different looking flower!

You can see a little folded creases as I wanted to give more dimension to the flowers. They’re nestled on a watercolour background to add a little softness to the hard matt layer and the strong red vibe.
The Craft-A-Flower series is so popular and if you don’t want to miss any of them plus get a discount, then you might like the Craft-A-Flower subscription. This is a monthly subscription plan for our Craft-A-Flower die set. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in the monthly Craft-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($35.99 →$29.99)

You can see the wonderful detail and all the little white gel pen dots and dots of colour matching the watercolour.

Altenew 8th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 2 + Giveaway (over $2,000 in Total Prizes)
Hello everyone! I’m so pleased to be part of Altenew’s Birthday hop. They’re turning 8 and they’ve days of inspiration and prizes. This is Day 2 and Altenew are starting their blog hop today on their blog here. You might have come to my blog from the lovely Laurie Patterson so a big Hello if you’ve never visited my blog before.
I’ve created a simple card for this hop and I’m also going to add a couple of my favourite projects from the past year.

My card uses the Itty Bitty Flowers die and the Reflections Die. I love playing around with transparency and layers so thought adding the Reflections die, die cut from vellum adds texture without making the project look too busy. The stamped sentiment is from the Giant Bellflower Stamp Set
If you look more closely at the card, you’ll see that I sewed through the layer (before adhering to the card base) using my sewing machine but using 3 different widths of stitches so it gives more interest. It’s a quick card to create, just finish with some black gel pen faux splatters.

There are some amazing prizes…just look at this list!

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Belladonna Lily Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hi! Hope you’re having a lovely day. I’m delighted to be part of a wonderful blog hop for the newesr Build-A-Flower set, the Belladonna Lily. As usual you may want to start at the beginning, at the Altenew Card Blog but a special hello if you’ve come from Carol Hintermeier’s wonderful blog.
The set is a multi-layered one and gives you scope for whatever colours you choose. I went with this..

Aren’t they gorgeous! I decided to go with stacking them on top of one another to make a larger bloom. This is how Altenew describes the set. ‘These gorgeous summer bloomers produce multiple fragrant flowers on each impressive stalk. In this stamp set, we have brought this exotic plant to paper through a delicately drawn outline image. The flowers have four coloring layers, and the stem has two coloring layers that will add depth and character to this beautiful flower. The Build-A-Flower: Belladonna Lilies special edition stamp and die set is only sold as a bundle. It includes one 6″ x 8″ clear photopolymer stamp set (20 individual stamp images) and one coordinating die set (1 die).’

Instead of outlining in grey or black, I just chose one of the darkest purple inks I had. It somehow softens the look of the flower. If you want to get hold of the set, visit here and if you love the series, then you can also sign up for the Build-A-Flower monthly subscription plan where you get 14% off.
Altenew are also doing a giveaway…$200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 04/06/2022 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 04/08/2022.

You can see I’ve added a heat embossed sentiment from the Belladonna Lily set– just perfect for sending a smile to a friend. I do hope this new stamp and die set bundle has inspired you to create something floral. I know it’s a set I’ll reach for regularly.
I’m looking forward to visiting Daniel Diaz’s blog next- he always has something creative and inspiring.
Thanks for being with me today, and I’ll see you again soon,
Thanks, Keren x
Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Zinnia Magellan Rose Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in Total Prizes)

Hello Altenew friends and lovely blog readers. How are you? Who doesn’t love a gorgeous floral? Todays we’re celebrating the release of the Zinnia Magellan Rose, the newest in the Paint-A-Flower series. You may have come to my blog from the fab Daniel Diaz, but if you’d like to start at the beginning, please visit the Altenew Card Blog to start.
All following links are affiliate ones…thankyou!!
I’ve used a number of different mediums to create my card- here’s what I’ve done.

The beautiful bloom was coloured in with Copic markers and trimmed out. It’s a good size so easy to fussy cut. The background was created using a gel plate and some blues and white paint. There’s zero skill needed so if you’ve never tried gel printing, I’d really recommend you have a go. You can see the almost cloud like background in the next photo. You can also see on the left where I coloured a few stripes using the Copic Marker so I had the perfect colour match strip!

The Paint-A-Flower Zinnia Magellan Rose is available in the Altenew store now and there’s also a fun subscription club. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in the monthly Paint-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($15.99 →$12.99).

You can also see the fun Positivity Washi Tape that I added in various places on the card. An easy way to add subtle pattern and a modern element.

Altenew Dreamy Bouquet Fabric Release BlogHop + Giveaway

Hello lovely friends- it’s time for something new…and totally new; Altenew are now doing FABRIC!! A big welcome if you’ve arrived from the lovely Terri Koszler’s blog. If you want to start at the beginning- please visit the Altenew Card Blog and then you can hop around everyone’s wonderful blogs.
( All the following links are Affiliate ones– thankyou!)
Altenew do so many different types of products but fabric is a first for them. However- it’ll come as no surprise that their signature beautiful designs are in evidence in this special Fat Quarter pack. If you’re wondering what a Fat Quarter is, it’s simply a Yard cut into 4- so each ‘quarter’ measures around 18”x 22” and there are SO many things you can make with them. These are beautiful cotton fabrics- so there’s tonnes you can make with them.

This collection is called Dreamy Bouquet and as I appreciate that not everyone sews ( or wants to sew) I’ve created a ‘no-sew’, ‘low-sew’ and ‘sew’ set of projects; hopefully catering for everyone. For those of you who simply want to stroke the fabric…of course you can do that too 😂.
The sew one first…

A really simple drawstring shape- but I’ve cut out small squares…

Sewed them back together again and then made a drawstring pouch.

I love how it shows all the different patterns off in one go! But maybe sewing isn’t really a passion of yours but you don’t mind doing a little? Here’s the second one incorporating a little hand sewing.

You can die cut fabric- particularly easily when you add an interfacing to it…which is simply an iron on ‘stiffener’. I use Vlieseline interfacings and it also means that the circles won’t fray after you’ve die cut them. Such a simple design and using the ‘Hello & Hugs’ die set too. I just added a few hand sewn running stitches around 2 circles to give it a little more texture. Before I show you the third project, I’ll tell you about the…

There is $300 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $25 gift certificate to 8 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 02/23/2022 for a chance to win.
Altenew will draw 10 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 02/25/2022.
For my ‘no-sew’ project- it’s just using strips of the fabric, mounted onto card and used as a textural background.

Don’t worry about any stray threads..it really adds to the character of the card. Just trim out pieces of fabric similar widths, overlap them and adhere them to a piece of cardstock. You can use thin amounts of fabric glue, double sided tape or a piece of adhesive sheet. Then die cut a circle from white and blue card, layer them together and mount onto the fabric piece using foam pads.

I’ve used the Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup Layering Die set but in pink to tie the colours together- but the card was made pretty quickly.
I hope this has given you a taster of what you might do with this beautiful Dreamy Bouquet Fat Quarter Collection– but don’t hang around, I can’t see it hanging around in store for long!
Before I go, I’ve added the list of everyone taking part, but the next person on the hop is the wonderful Norine Borys.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the fabric in different ways, and I know you’ll love trying it out too! Thanks for visiting me today,

Altenew: A Year In Review Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! How are you? It’s nearly the New Year and Altenew thought it would be fun to have a blog hop celebrating our favourite projects. What a good excuse to have a blog hop plus a great giveaway too! As usual, the blog hop will begin at Altenew’s blog first, so to see it in order, please start here. You might have come to my blog from Kari VanNoy so a special welcome if it’s the first time you’re visiting me!
It’s really hard to choose my favourites from all the projects I’ve created, but I picked a few and I hope you’ll enjoy seeing them again! First up is a delicate floral what I like to call a ‘Bouquet Card’.

Stamping the outline in pink really adds something to the delicacy of the floral images. First I stamped out some of the flowers plus die cut them out. I started with a tent folded base and cut a strip out towards the right and backed it with some Matt Duralar (Grafix). I love the contrast of the solid and semi-transparent. The set is called the Build-A-Flower Tree Peony and it’s a beauty isn’t it!
The next one is a floral too- but with a simple colour scheme and no colouring!

I just love this Craft-A-Flower Cistus die set.
You might have noticed that I rarely choose the same colours as the flower traditionally is, but I did decide to go with white (they’re often pink too). Creating depth with white is a little more tricky, but armed with some vellum to separate the layers, it adds dimension really easily and gives a wonderful softness. A black background really gives a pop to the flowers.
Next is a defying gravity card…

The stamp set I used is called Folk Art and it also has a matching die which takes the hassle out of trimming round little details. I love how you can use it with different colours and it looks sooo different. Try embossing in gold and see how it takes on an almost Art Deco feel (I know, not the right style..but try it!). The card looks like it’ll topple over but it’s got a slice chopped off the back point of the card so it’s more stable.
My fourth card is probably one of my all time favourites, using one of my favourite sets Craft-A-Flower Antique Rose. The clever design of the different layers gives so much dimension and realism.

Having the flowers flowing down the card leads your eye through the design and extending the flowers over the top of the card (add an extra piece of cardstock to add stability to the structure) makes for a creative greeting.
I love this graphic that Altenew put together!

Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners and a $15 gift certificate to 4 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog HERE or share Altenew projects with #AltenewBest2021 on social media by 01/06/2022 for a chance to win. 9 winners will be announced on the Altenew Winners Page on 01/08/2022.
There’s also the chance to win a $10 gift certificate for all the commenters on my blog, so look out back on my blog on January 8th and I’ll let you know if you’ve won!
What’s your favourite product that Altenew has created this year, or do you have a favourite project?
Well it’s time to hop over to Laura Jane’s blog. I can’t wait to see her favourites.
Thanks for visiting me today and I’ve added the whole blog hop list below. Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year !

Altenew Plentiful Patterns Stand-alone Dies/Stencils Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)
Hello friends! Who doesn’t love a good pattern?! Well I’m so pleased to be joining in with Altenew celebrating their latest collection of dies. These can be stand alone or combined together (as you’ll see in some of my projects). You might have come here from Carol Hintermeier’s blog and if you want to start at the beginning, hop over to the main Altenew Card blog.
(Following links are affiliate ones that earns me a little extra but with no cost to you.)

These two sets are just stunning! I’ve used the Impressionist Bouquet Layering Stencil Set with the Impressionist Bouquet Die Set and combined it with the You Matter Die Set. I love these sets so much. The stencil is easy to use with inks- I used Distress Inks and some plain cardstock to make stripes.

The scripty you is such a beautiful font! The next set I’m showcasing is Itty Bitty Flowers Die Set along with You Matter Die Set. I’ve used black glitter cardstock plus some matt mirror cardstock. Using grey and black for the flowers gives a subtle look. The sentiments that go with the ‘you’ in the You Matter die set are just perfect for so many occasions.

My final project is using the Pattern Motif Die Set and the sentiment is from the Folk Art Stamp Set

Creating it is simple. I just layered up lots of scrap pieces of cardstock together on a piece of cardstock. Die cut the floral image onto a larger piece of cardstock and use the negative die cut over the top using foam pads.
Then layer the flower over the top and then the stamped sentiment on top of that. It’s a very classy and elegant image.
If you want to check out the whole release, follow this link to see all the different dies.
Next on the hop is Linda Westfall who will have something inspiring for you to see. Thanks for joining me today to see this wonderful collection of dies and if you get lost, I’ve added the whole list below!

The Fresh Bloom stamp set is full of possibilities; your stamp set, your colours! I love reds so added a full on red one in the front and then a subtler reddish mix on the back one. You’ll see more of the leaves later- they’re just so elegant! There’s a matching Fresh Bloom Die set too
My next project is using some simple heat embossing.
For this card, I used several of the foliage images from the Fresh Bloom stamp set and die cut them using the matching Fresh Bloom Die Set. I just heat embossed using silver embossing powder on a dark teal cardstock piece. I used the Woven Stripes stamp set. It’s such a lovely stamp set- you can use it as a background or a bold statement. I white heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of Matt Duralar (from Grafix) and added some of the lovely new Essential White Enamel Dots which come in a pack of black and white in different sizes.

There’s also some new sets of Mixed Media inks being released which I absolutely LOVE !
If you’ve never used them before, here’s a graphic explaining more and showing the whole set of colours. They come in two sets but you can purchase them individually too.
I used Sapphire, Persian Blue, Carribbean Sky and Buttercream pigment inks. I initially created a piece of fabric using the 3 blues but then decided to add in some yellow. So what type of material have I stamped on? Cotton- but if you want the most crisp images, then go for mercerised cotton ( a process which treats the cotton with sodium hydroxide which strengthens the fabric and makes it smoother). Get the individual colours or treat yourself to the Glacier Caves or Summer Afternoon bundles.
So what did I do with it afterwards?

I created a notebook cover adding in a little strip of coordinating fabric plus some old jean fabric. Here’s the inside..

I whipped up a bookmark too. The Mixed Media Inks aren’t just for fabric though- try them on wood, paper- anything that’s porous! If you want to see this lovely Modern & Edgy release in full, please go here
Well you’ve heard enough from me- the next lovely designer to go and visit is Erin Thompson. Thanks so much for joining me today. If you happen to get lost- I’ve added the whole list of designers taking part below.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

(All links are affiliate ones)
Hello lovely people. I’m so happy to be with you again for the latest in the Build-A-Flower series. This month it’s the Fashion Monger Dahlia, and what a beauty it is. Welcome – if you’ve arrived here from Linda Westfall’s blog then an especially large welcome. You might want to start at the beginning- at the Altenew blog.
I’ve created two projects using this beautiful new set.

Firstly, I wanted to use the pretty foliage. I had a shape like a scorpion’s tale in mind. I wasn’t convinced by it towards the end, but the focus is on the lovely flowers anyhow!
Do you want to make a bold statement on your handmade cards? The Fashion Monger Dahlia is the flower for you! This set features one six-layer flower and two three-layer leaves. The leaves have a delicate and lacy feel to them to help you achieve a richer look on your projects. The included sentiments feature a gorgeous pairing of fonts to accompany your floral creations.

Aren’t those leaves amazing! As usual, there’s a great giveaway…
Giveaway Prizes
There are $200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 08/07/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 08/09/2021.
I used the same colour combination for the second project.

I love the multiple layers that give you so many colour options. You can really change up this flower. The Fashion Monger Dahlia is a stamp and die set. There’s also a Stamp/Die set with ink bundle (it has 5% off). If you love the whole Build-A-Flower series, then you could sign up for the Monthly Subscription (which gives you a 14% discount).

To create the black and white backgrounds, I just used some pieces of black cardstock trimmed into different widths and adhered with different spacings.

Now all that’s all for the moment, but there’s lots more to see. Next up is Daniel Diaz who is bound to amaze you. If you get lost along the way, I’ve added the whole list below.
Thanks so much for visiting me, and hope to see you again soon x
