Dazzling Diva Challenge 51!

Hi! Back for another challenge. ..No.51none the less!

Can you see where I got my inspiration from? I picked a more unusual element; actually my eyes were drawn straight there. I think it’s the graphic look lover in me! Anyhow, here’s what I did with it!

Actually, it was rather more finicky than I’d anticipated. The stamp set is a gorgeous one from Waltzingmouse Stamps & the leaves are from a new XCut set. I’ll post the links later- I’m just dashing out now!

Do join in here. It’s open for a week, so that gives you plenty of time!

I’ve used Brushed Copper & Brushed Bronze. This metal stuff is quite addictive! Do grab some- you’ll love it- particularly on your Christmas projects!

Will pop back with the correct links- have to dash for the school run!

Catch you later

Remembrance Day & Virginia’s View Challenge

poppies1 Hi!

Today is a day for reflection, thanks & remembrance.

I will chat less today. The card was created for Virginia’s View Challenge where I’m guesting today. With it being Remembrance Day, this Brushed Poppies set from Clearly Besotted seemed the perfect start. Because this set is a solid stamp, you can’t really stamp on the Scarlet Red metal and show the metal through (like you would with an outline image). You can sometimes stamp the image on the reverse and cut out & use the shape, but you have several parts to the set & can’t stamp on the reverse of paper  or the colour won’t show. I wondered how I could use the metal so tried stamping and embossing in clear embossing powder. It worked and gave a lovely sheen and texture too. Definitely a technique I’ll be using on my metal sheets again. I’ll give more details about the challenge with the other project tomorrow.

I leave you with the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

Add A Little Dazzle Diva Challenge #49

#49Hi! This week’s Challenge photo is simply an inspirational photo. Do with it what you will! I went a little ‘left field’.

I went with a couple of colours- the gold and the green. I loved the different textures so added them by way of the textured tag. I wanted to make the tag part of the design so die-cut the words out of the tag to make the design more seamless.

The metal is by way of die-cut tiny stars. It’s a real mix of products. The stars are from Mama Elephant. The happy die is from Wplus9 (Trio of Happy dies), the tag die is from Avery Elle (Gift Tag Elle-ments).

First, cut out the word from the base card, add watercolour around the letters, and then stuck the word back into the aperture except securing it with some Sweater Weather paper (Lawn Fawn) & adding some Green Sparkle twine (Lawn Fawn too).

The Golden Glimmer metal can be found here

If you’d like to join in with this week’s challenge just post a link to your blog post here. If you don’t have a blog, just link up via Flickr or other online gallery with the tag DIVA#49. You could win $15 to spend in store. Do check out what the teamies have created- I love how we all go in such varied directions with the same inspiration.

See you soon xx

Add A Little Dazzle & CAS-ual Fridays Blog Hop Day 5

Add a Little Dazzle and CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog Hop-Day #5! We are back with another exciting day for you. This week we are collaborating with Casual Fridays Stamps. This company has an amazing line of stamps and dies and we are excited to have teamed up with them. Join us this week as we share some awesome projects combining their amazing product line with Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets. It’s been fun, inspirational, and we have prizes for you!

I’ve used CAS-ual Friday’s stamps before on the blog. Their stamps are a mix of funny, bold and modern. Their sentiments are always well thought through & their dies are fab too! Do go and check them out here.

My project is something clean and graphic
using In The Cards set and matching die set, Shuffle Fri-dies

I’ve combined these with Scarlet Red & Wondrous White craft metal.

It’s easy- like paper-piecing but with metal. Just cut out the playing card shape, die cut the spade from the centre & die cut a separate red spade and then fit them together. I love black, white and red so the bold look was easy with black cardstock stripes!

I’ve also created this super-duper-tiny notebook- out of the Shuffle Fri-dies. Just perfect for those phone numbers and little notes! It only measures a few centimetres each way and I’ve attached the pages together with a little metal strip.

Time to hop.. go and enjoy the other great projects!

Add A Little Dazzle & CAS-ual Fridays Blog Hop Day 3

Add a Little Dazzle and CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog Hop-Day #3. We are back with another exciting week for you. This week we are collaborating with Casual Fridays Stamps. Join us this week as we share some awesome projects combining their amazing product line with Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets. It’s going to be fun, inspirational, and we have prizes for you!

I’ve used CAS-ual Friday’s stamps before on the blog & their owner Michele is just plain lovely (well, she’s anything but plain, but you get my drift?!) Their stamps are a mix of funny, bold and modern. Their sentiments are always well thought through & their dies are fab too! Do go and check them out here.

My project is tying in with this week’s challenge photo1236975_10202654062219515_8399332294340067290_n
I’ve created a little acetate box & used the Houndstooth set, Wonderful Words set & the Funky Square Tags dies

I’ve combined this with Princess Pink, Pucker Me Pink & Wondrous White craft metal. I’ve used the Houndstooth set to stamp with Archival Ink onto the pink metal, then burnished the non-stamped parts from the back. To be able to do that, I used a fine paper stump and traced from the front so I have a line to burnish from the back. I made the acetate box to fit the two candles & then added some scrunched seam binding.

For the tag- I wanted the tag shape but the tag was wider than I needed, so I lined my piece of card up, & laid the tag die over it so I got the top shape from the die but without the width! Simple!

Add A Little Dazzle & Fancy Pants Day 5

Hi! Its the last day of the joint blog hop! There’s been tons of fun projects over at Fancy Pants & Add A Little Dazzle. Hope you’ve got chance to see some of them this week
My last project was more of a labour of love. It’s not entirely finished on the inside (but let’s not talk about that right now 😉 Here’s how I made it…
Firstly- create an accordion fold on a piece of cardstock & then add a cover to either sidemb2Add double sided tape (red liner is perfect as it’s super strength!).
mb3 Now, add yourself some pages. I cut mine roughly the same size as the front and back cover, but very slightly smaller. Here’s where I started playing around with the metal. I thought they might make interesting binding. And actually, not only do they add interest and shine to the mini-album, they add a little rigidity and strength and also help the front cover stay open when you open it. I used Golden Glimmer metal for the binding- (click the picture to take you to the Boutique)

Golden Glimmermb4
I could have used this on each fold, but the chances of getting it really neat were beyond my capability so I decide to use some of the Fancy Pants Corrugate paper, which comes as part of the MEology kit

mb5 As you can say, it was perfect, as it bends beautifully- just what you need for a mini book that will be opened and shut a lot.mb6
You can see how I created a metal flower (using Perfect Peacock metal) echoing the shape of the ones on the patterned paper, and I cut up one of the patterned papers that had the days of the week on, fussy cut around the shape over the wording and used them as tabs for each page. The paper is great quality, double sided (I know, choosing is hard!) and has a really varied range of patterns in each pack. Fancy Pants generously sent the kit, which contains 3 sheets of corrugate paper, a 12×12 sticker sheet plus 2 other sticker sheets and 12 sheets of paper. Add A little Dazzle is stocking their newest Christmas range ‘Oh Deer’ plus coordinating metal sheets which is gorgeous too!mb7
Do go and visit the Fancy Pants Designs and Add A Little Dazzle blogs and leave a comment for the chance to win a prize- if you comment here on my blog, Add a Little Dazzle is providing an extra prize to be drawn out of all comments on the DT’s blogs too!

Off to do a little cleaning..a little can’t hurt, can it?!

Add A Little Dazzle & Fancy Pants Day 3

1474501_10202693550406695_1756452941285093743_n Hi! It’s another challenge day- we’re continuing with Fancy Pants and Add A Little Dazzle to bring some fun bright projects to hopefully inspire you to grab some metal and paper products and get crafting. The Challenge is all about gifts packaging. Boxes, parcels, anything! So, I went a little different.. popped to my local McDonalds and asked for a take-out coffee cup and created this!photo 1-49 I’ve used the MEology papers from Fancy Pants Gorgeous, bright and fun designs. I’ve used some of the stickers from the pack & the really gorgeous corrugated card. Add to that some Add A Little Dazzle Scarlet Red & Perfect Peacock 55203072I used the cup as a pattern & created the corrugated metal cuff part by running the metal through a crimper tool . It’s a lovely sound hearing the metal crimping!! You could add sweets, coffee, a gift card, pretty much anything, and for a coffee lover, it’s an ideal gift! photo 2-49To win prizes, pop to the Fancy Pants Blog & the Add A Little Dazzle blog and leave a comment. For an extra chance to win, leave a comment here too. To play along wit the challenge (& you don’t have to have metal or Fancy Pants products to do that), post your link for Challenge 47 to here. Hope you are enjoying the projects- it’s been brilliant fun using the Fancy Pants products with the craft metal sheets!

See you soon, xx

Add A Little Dazzle & Fancy Pants Hop!

fphopshineHey! Happy Monday!

Welcome to the Add A Little Dazzle & Fancy Pants Hop. Fancy Pants is a great fun and bright papercrafting company. I’ve had various ranges from them over the years & I’ve got the MEology range which Fancy Pants kindly sent me to craft with.

I’ve decided to go a little quirky..when I saw the paper with this lady on, I knew I wanted to give her a metal ‘skirt’. The metal bends so well, it was easy to give her a fluid short skirt. The metal skirt ‘shines’ so it gave me the idea for the sentiment. The MEology pack contains stickers so everything on the card is Fancy Pants or Add A Little Dazzle.

I’ve used Pucker Me Pink & Golden Glimmer (see her shimmering shoes 😉 )

Golden Glimmer Pucker Me Pink

If you go and visit each companies blog & leave a comment, you could win one prize pack donated from each company. Add A Little Dazzle & Avery Elle Blog Hop Day #2!

DazzleAEBlogHop-e1411954221978Hi! Welcome to the Add A Little Dazzle & Avery Elle blog hop! It’s a week long affair, full to the brim of craft metal and stampy goodness. Avery Elle are a manufacturer of ‘fun, fresh and modern’ designs & their Design Team & ours have combined to hopefully show you some of the things you can achieve when you combine stamps and metal!

For my project, I’ve combined two Avery Elle sets ‘#Smile’ & ‘Storybook’

Combining the two sets creates something a bit different. I’ve used the aluminium metal and embossed it with a Herringbone folder (XCut) which gives a lovely crisp texture to the metalAALD1When I was thinking about the design, the phrase ‘watch the birdie’ sprang to mind. This phrase became popular at photography sessions in early photographic history. If you look closely, on the next picture, you’ll see the bird is actually flying (via a piece of acetate!!) at the front of the camera. The ‘flash’ is one of the starbursts from the StoryBook set and the butterfly from the same set is in the middle of the multi layered acetate lens!!

AALD2I’ve also used some Avery Elle sequins which just add movement to the card.

Prize Alert!!

Be sure to leave a comment on the Avery Elle Blog, Add a Little Dazzle Blog, and each of the Design Team Member’s Blogs each day for a chance to win a prize pack from both companies! You must leave a comment on all blogs.
