Dazzling Diva Challenge #60

chall60
Happy Wednesday- the week is flying (or blowing by- it’s a good job I’m not super-thin or I’d be whisked off my feet in this wind!!). For this week- the challenge is to make a 3D flower. I attempted one and was too embarrassed to have put it on here so tried again and was happier with this version!
indiflower1
This flower is made by stamping a flower from a set by Indigo Blu twice onto Black Diamond metal

This metal is more matt than most of the other types, but either way, its easy to emboss onto it using Versamark and I’ve used some Wild Wasabi embossing powder (Stampin’Up!). There’s a not funny story with this stamp set. I’d put up some stamps and dies for sale & sold this set yesterday. I just quickly stamped two of the flowers before I cleaned them and packaged them away and then this morning Monica (who owns Add A Little Dazzle) asked me what on earth I was doing selling the set.

Yup- silly idea- but its too late, the guy has paid for and bought this set- I’m sure he’ll get lots of joy from it (&, isn’t it nice seeing a man stamper has bought it!!)

indiflowerThe metal is trimmed and wound around a paintbrush to give the spirals & then some strips of black and silver cardstock. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.

challengepicDo join in- you don’t have to use metal, and there’s a fab voucher up for grabs for the winner- post any projects link to this post and you have until next Tuesday to enter. 3D flowers are brilliant fun creating- the only problem is how am I going to get this in the post?!! I think this will have to be a ‘hand-delivered’ one or maybe I have to make a box to transport in!!

See you soon- stay safe and stay warm!!

Dazzling Diva Challenge #59

dd59
Hi! Happy Wednesday to you all!
We’ve got a challenge to use ‘music’ somewhere in our projects and also kinda sneak in a Valentine Day theme if we can
r
I’ve done a 3D effort- similar to a card I did back with Gallery Idol- it was really quick to make and uses Scarlet Red metal for the tiny hearts
You can see more clearly how I’ve done it- spot the error in the photo!
r1
Yes- I took the photo before completing it- I realised that it really needed a sentiment. All dies and stamps are Lawn Fawn.
r2
Do join in- we’re getting some fabulous weekly entries- just join in here and you could win a voucher to spend on lovely Add A Little Dazzle goodies

See you tomorrow- with some more Winnie & Walter! xx

Dazzling Diva Challenge #58 & Winnie & Walter Challenges

dazzlingdiva58This time the Dazzling Diva challenge is a colour based challenge. I didn’t go with the winter theme for inspiration- just the colours..congrats1
The 3 metal colours I’ve used are Scarlet Red, Wondrous White & Perfect Peacock

I’ve used an Xcut die of different paperclips and some Winnie & Walter stamps with matching distress inks.

We all know that distress inks can often pool on detailed photopolymer stamps (but they have a myriad of uses and that’s why we all really love them!!) but if you use a little trick, the stamping is much clearer.

Just stamp the image first with Versamark ink and then ink it with Distress ink.

congrats3

The metal makes for fun embellishments- and of course, the paperclips will clip on too- if you wanted.

challengepicDo join in with the challenge here. Don’t forget- there’s a $15 voucher to be won & then you can get your hands on some lovely metal too! Link up your projects to the linky at the bottom of the post and join in!!

I’ve created this project for the Winnie & Walter Birthday challenge too!

This project ties in with the ‘Distress Inks and Patterns’ challenge

There’s a ton of challenges to join in with too!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this,

will be back soon with some more challenges!

Dazzling Diva Challenge #57

57
Hey! A new year..a new challenge. I’ve not half struggled getting back into the swing of it all. Wednesday means the challenge is up..and it’s this inspirational photo.
I went a little mad!
clock1
To make this I’ve used Golden Glimmer, and used a file from the Silhouette online shop.

Golden GlimmerIt took a little while to construct. First I cut out the Glimmer Gold with my Silhouette Cameo. I then backed it with some acetate to give the front of the card some stability. I traced some similar sized circles so I could create a back piece for the shaker part. For the stamping I’ve used some Winnie & Walter stamp sets; The Big, The Bold & You and Big, Bang, Bling.

I stamped the sequins and the sentiment before adding foam pads around the outside. Sprinkle in some glitter, mini-beads and sequins and stick it to the back of the inside of the clock. Then I simply cut out the outline of the shape in black cardstock and attached it to the top of the clock so the card could stand up.
photo 5
I used my new light tent that I got for my Birthday- and despite it only being an iphone and I’ve still got to tweak the set-up, it’s not done badly considering it was pitch black outside.

Back to the challenge!challengepicDo join in..it’s simply an inspirational challenge- whatever inspires you from the picture. Link up here– it would be great to see how you can use metal craft sheets, but it’s not a requirement. Just add the tag Dazzling Diva Challenge #57 if you’re linking up from an online photo gallery or simply link up your blog. There’s a $15 voucher up for grabs- so get creating.

Winnie and Walter are having a big Birthday bash over at their blog here
I’ve added this into the sketch challenge.
2015/01/img_6801.png
See the circles and the two banner shapes- they look a little like clock hands don’t they!!!

I’ll be back soon xx

Dazzling Diva Challenge #56

dd56Hi! Here today with another challenge. I’ve been creating but so very busy that I’ve not been able to post.

Here’s my take on the inspirational photowreathI loved the blue tones and gold and picked out the little stars too. It’s an acetate ‘wreath’ using the teeny star die from Mama Elephants ‘Embellished Tag’ dies.

For the sentiment- I used the Holiday Labels- Merry from Waffle Flower . The metal is so wonderfully flexible that you can make spirals and even bows from it. Don’t ask how you’d transport it easily- it would need some protection!

This week Dazzling Diva Challenge #56 is an Inspirational Photo or Anything Goes. There are so many beautiful pieces to grab inspiration from and it’s all in what your eye is drawn towards in the picture. There is not right or wrong so have fun with it and play along.

So pull out your crafting supplies and make a project using our Inspirational Photo or Anything Goes. Then, share it with us by linking to the bottom of the post.  You have until Tuesday, January 6th to enter.  The winner will receive a $15 Metal Sheet Prize Pack. challengepicApart from all the usual Christmas prep- I’ve been quiet on the blog because of this little man…

humph
This man..or monkey is called Humphrey! All the kids have put dibs on him. Thing is, each one takes 4-5 hours to hand sew and I’ve got 5 kids 😉

I’ll be pretty busy from now on- that’s not even wrapping any presents.

Will see you soon (after sewing!)

Add A Little Dazzle Diva’s Challenge #55!

dd55heart1 Hey! I know, two posts at once! And I forgot to post one yesterday that will have to come tomorrow!!!

I’ve chosen to make an ornament. I picked up some of these slate hearts dirt cheap recently to use as present tags. They may be a little heavy to use as that- but they’ll make cute ornaments for my home!
I’ve just sketched the letters in pencil and then added gold gel pen to pad out each word! Super easy!

I’ve used Glimmer Gold and Black Diamond metal

Please link up here – pull out your crafting supplies and make a project using a White & Gold theme. Then, share it with us by linking to the bottom of the post.  You have until Tuesday, December 16th to enter.  The winner will receive a $15 Metal voucher for the store.

Dazzling Diva’s Challenge No. 54

54Hi! I know, it’s me again 😉

It’s  a challenge all about snow or snowflakes. I went with snowflakes and added a pop of red.five
Here’s how I created the dimension- firstly by making a file in Studio (Silhouette software) and cutting it out from cardstock. I turned it over, added the metal to the back and carefully burnished with one of the tools to push the metal all the way into the apertureone
Next turn it over, and tadaaa.. gorgeous dimension (not to mention the shine!!)

two
Next- I added the cut out heart from the centre of the ‘o’ after adhering Scarlet Red metal to the back. By turning it over and repeating the burnishing process- you get this look with the heart slightly sunken in and the metal rising from the edges of the heart.
three
I’ve used these metal colours and you buy them from hereBaby Blue
You can I’ve added glitter into the cut out word and also a vinyl cut out onto the snowflake.
four
It would be great if you joined in with the challenge this week
challengepicClick the challenge image and go and see what the other teamies have created. It’s worth joining as there’s always a store credit prize to win each week.. and then you can have a go at the tons of ways of incorporating metal into your crafting.

See you very very soon, with some family funnies & some offerings using some very gorgeous sprout tape I happened upon recently!!

Dazzling Diva Challenge #53

dd53 Hi! Hope you’re all having a lovely day. Being Wednesday- it’s a challenge day. Looking at that photo- what would you have created? I loved the texture on the bottles and went with the turquoise too. Also this week, the Add A Little Dazzle team were challenged to use either a ‘No More Shims’ mat or embossing paste. I chose the mat and created this project trees1You create a crafty sandwich; cutting base, stencil, metal, no more shims mat & then the top cutting plate. I used this amazing stencilHow gorgeous is that? Both the stencil and mat are available in the Add A Little Dazzle Boutique. Once I’d laid the metal over with black side down , it meant that the texture I’d created with the trees to the front was on the silver side. I created another piece with the black face up, which resulted in the piece as it is now. I used a Black Diamond metal sheet I wanted to give it a moonlit look so decided to remove the colour from the surface of the metal. I used Stazon cleaner on tiny cottonbud sticks. It took a little while as I had to remove specific sections. I love the look of it and simply embellished with mini stars from Mama Elephant Embellished Tag cut with Perfect Peacock metal. trees2 I needed a sentiment and dug out a set I’d created last year when I was dabbling in creating stamp sets. Tomorrow, it’s Black Friday in the US (& it’s creeping in here too).Add A Little Dazzle is going to have a special offer, so do check back on Fridayblackfriday As usual, we’d love you join in with the challenge. Do have a go and creating something by being inspired by the picture. Link up here. I’ve now got a link in my sidebar for those that fancy having a try of the sheets. You can get them from here. See you back here Friday (or might even be before 😉 ) xx

Add A Little Dazzle & Neat & Tangled Blog Hop Day 5!

bhshine1Welcome to the final day of the Blog Hop. I really hope you’ve enjoyed the fab projects that the girls from both teams have posted.
My final project is just a bit of fun. When I opened this stamp set, ‘Gifts For You’, I was puzzling about what to create with it
I wanted initially to create an Andy Warhol-esque project, with different coloured backgrounds and hair colours and then whilst messing around with creating coloured hair, I finalised on this one. Again, as the hair was a solid stamp, you don’t have the luxury of simply stamping in a colour and cutting out, or the metal wouldn’t be seen. Likewise, stamp the image on the reverse of the metal and your image is the wrong way around once you turn the metal the correct way around. I used the stamping onto metal with Versamark technique, adding the clear embossing powder, heating to set (mind your fingers, the metal gets hot quickly) and then I have a line to cut around with the edge of the embossing but it still allows the colour and shine of the metal to be seen.

For the photo booth look and sentiment I’ve used the Photo Booth set

shine2

I’ve used Baby Blue & Pucker Me Pink craft metal a diddly bit of Outrageous Orange for the bow tie!

The boy and girl are fun images and the set is designed to create gorgeous tags too.

Here’s the rest of the list. I’m at the end, so just start at the beginning!

Add A Little Dazzle & Neat & Tangled Day 4

bh
choc2

Hi everyone! Don’t fall over in shock- a post, …with actual content! The gremlins are still misbehaving a little- but hopefully I’ve ironed it out & we have a fabulous hop for you today. If you haven’t caught up with the other days..do go and look at all of the projects!

This week Add A Little Dazzle and Neat & Tangled have joined forces to bring you some stamp and metal goodness. Neat & Tangled is a stamp company boasting fun with a cute, hand drawn, heartwarming feel. They’re great quality stamps & I’ve actually not used stamps in a physical sense today but their digital stamps (which is the same design of one of their stamps too!).

I’ve linked the picture to the actual digital file page. You don’t need an actual stamp to create my project, in fact, the stamp wouldn’t enable you to make this little gift. This digital file is just what you need! In case you’re wondering; it’s a layered hot chocolate gift- all ready to pop into a pan or microwave (reserving the choc and peppermint candy pieces until the drink is made) and makes a super easy gift for someone.

choc3I have shared some projects created with my Silhouette Cameo before & this was created with the Add A Little Dazzle Scarlet Red & Brushed Bronze metal and some gorgeous vinyl. The supplies work together beautifully.

Brushed Bronze

Because Neat & Tangled create these as files which are downloaded as JPEGs or PNG files, you can print, colour, or, as I did, trace them in my Silhouette Studio software & cut out sections in both metal and vinyl. Now, due to the miniature size of the tag- I couldn’t cut the file exactly as it is, so I had to remove the tinier elements so I could actually cut the metal & the vinyl.

The Cameo is fab- but you need to be gentle with it-especially when it comes to cutting metal. Slow speeds are crucial with metal. I have it cutting at the slowest speed and the Blade at about 9-10. Part of the reason I’ve a higher no is that my blade isn’t super-new.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the actual stamp! I have used another stamp set for the tag; ‘Gifts For You’

choc4As usual there’s a prize for visting all of the blogs and leaving comments at each; there’s a prize from Neat & Tangled & Add A Little Dazzle. You have until midnight (MST) on the 22nd of November to have left comments with each participant. Here’s the list of everyone taking part today.
