Add A Little Dazzle Design Team Last Hurrah!

They say all good things come to an end. That’s not always true and it’s only half true in this case.

After much consideration Monica Weaver from Add a Little Dazzle has decided to close the Dazzling Diva Challenge. BUT the blog and boutique will continue being open offering unique creations and Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets. Do continue (or indeed start) following the Add a Little Dazzle blog.

We had the challenge photos done ahead for a little while, so we’ve all still made a project along the lines of the inspiration photo.

I’ve used Wondrous White

and by embossing it and removing some of the colour (I used Stazon cleaner), you get the two tone look. The leaves are stamped in Fresco paint from a PaperArtsy stamp set and the embossing folder is from Crafters Companion.

Do join in with our last challenge- it would be great to see you all out in force.

It’s been lovely being part of the Design Team; the girls are simply some of the nicest and most talented you’ll find anywhere in blogland. Lovely Monica and her husband deserve to make this new direction a real success. She’s combining her passion for crafting with clean eating and will produce some totally unique ideas on the blog.

I’ll still dabble and experiment with craft metal as it’s such a brilliant product.

See you soon, and thankyou Monica and the Diva girls! xx

Dazzling Divas Challenge #72

Yay for a beautiful day! The mood board comes with the theme of Mothers Day ( obviously it’s in the US, as we’ve already had it!)

I went with the colours and the theme. Who doesn’t like a dress? Well- maybe some of you. And pink? Wouldn’t catch me in pink dress ever, but it makes an OK card!! I’ve used an XCut die and cut the skirt portion out again and curved and bent it to create the 3D full skirt effect. Really easy!

I’ve used these beautiful metal colours, Perfect Peacock, Princess Pink and Lovely Lavender.

The stamped ‘Mum’ is using some stamps from PaperArtsy.

The challenge with all the other Design Team’s lovely images is here. You’ll want to go and see what they’ve come up and hopefully have a go yourself!

I’ll be back shortly with a fun project using butterflies and acetate!

See you soon x

Dazzling Diva’s Challenge #71

Post no.2.

Hope I’m not clogging up your feeds! Dazzling Diva challenge today from Add A Little Dazzle

I went literal again…focussed on those gorgeous peaches!

But what’s a girl to do when she has no peaches? ….use BALLOONS!

See the round balloons? I just stamped them in a light orange, trimmed around cutting the balloon knot off and then using the little white area as the indentation at the top of the peach!  Add in the colours of peaches using some Copics and then add in the metal!

The blue looks great as leaves when contrasted with the orange and I’ve used the Trio of Happy dies for the sentiment in the Princess Pink metal.

Want to have a go? No metal required. Just create using the photo as inspiration and a $15 voucher for the store could be winging its way to you. You’ve a week to enter..what are you waiting for?!!!

Hope you’re all having a lovely wet and dreary day like me!! I’ll be back soon with a tale of the missing glasses!

xx

Dazzling Diva Challenge #70

Hi! Hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter. The challenge over at Add A Little Dazzle is this mood board. I was inspired by the navy old sign in the top left

It’s using a set by Waltzingmouse Stamps called Old Country Roses  and I’ve used Black Diamond metal

I simply scrunched up a piece of metal, flattened it out and put it through my diecutting machine to flatten in further.

Then add some double sided tape to the back- stick it down on the card base at an angle and emboss around the edges with an embossing tool to create the illusion of a frame.

Then I simply sanded lightly and where the metal has been scrunched it sands away nicely.

Do join in with the challenge- it’s about how the mood board inspires you. You’ve a week to join in..post your makes in the linky here

I’ll be back tomorrow with my make for Make The Day Special stamp store.

Xx

Ps- amazingly we’ve still got eggs left in the house. I’ve not touched any of mine which is more of a comment on how busy I’ve been rather than my non existent will power!

Dazzling Diva Challenge #68

Isn’t that picture beautiful? Makes me want to get out my cake stands and have afternoon tea. Here’s my take on it

It’s a play on ‘hang in there’- with the frame hanging on the card. The frame was fun to make using Golden Glimmer craft metal

I’ve simply stamped using Black Stazon onto the metal using a new set from the stamp company ‘The Ton’ using this Vintage Frames set

Vintage Frames

It’s a larger set and I loved the ornate frame. I simply started pushing an embossing tool into the metal where I wanted it raised, then turned the metal over, and pushed out the metal where the marks where showing on the reverse.

It makes for a fun effect and certainly gives bags of dimension!

If you fancy playing with us- you have until next Tuesday and please use the photo as an inspiration point. You don’t need to own craft metal but obviously, if you join in and win, then you’d get to spend the voucher and have your very own stash. Link up your card here

Well, I’ve walkies to do, so better hop to it. I’d much rather be sleeping on the sofa though…like that was even an option. I’m busy doing a commission for Crafts Beautiful right now, and I need to get it finished!

See you when I’ve come back from the dog barking at every living thing! x

Dazzling Diva #67

Hi! It’s time for an Add A Little Dazzle challenge. Gorgeous gorgeous picture ..and I’m afraid I just didn’t do it justice.

I lost my pens- couldn’t find the pastel ones. Should have used my watercolours but instead…

I drew the tulips, outlined them in black and had gentle pretty colours in mind- but could I find the packet?  All I managed is this. I guess they look like tulips and therefore springlike…

But not a patch on the picture.

I’m hoping you guys can step up to plate and create something more lovely.

I’ve used Perfect Peacock metal

And the die is from WPlus9.

Fancy joining in? Come on- you can have a much better stab at it! Join in here

You win some…you lose some!

See you soon,

Keren xx

PS- I’ve just found the pens! 😋

Dazzling Divas #66

Hi! Wednesday means challenge day. It’s a case of creating using the mood board. My eyes were drawn to the wellies and the watering can and here’s what I came up with

I’ve simply drawn a watering can shape, cut it out of Brushed Copper

It’s easy to add dimension- I just used an embossing tool to push out and mark. I added 3D foam pads underneath to keep the dimension.

I’ve used the WPlus9 set Fresh Cut Florals

A simple and restful card!

Do join in here and win some of these gorgeous sheets. Just post a project using the mood board to create a card ( or something else!!)

Will see you tomorrow with an unusual card !

Add A Little Dazzle Challenge 65

Hi! It’s challenge day at Add A Little Dazzle. All about pink. I’ve gone for a card for a little girl. Pink and cute

Using Princess Pink metal

I’ve used the metal to make the Lawn Fawn stamped images more 3D- easy to do when you’ve got craft metal.

cute set huh?!

If you’d like to join – do use pink in your projects- but don’t worry if you haven’t got the Add A Little Dazzle metal, still enter and you might win some!

Link up your projects here.

It would be great to see some new entries!

See you soon

Dazzling Diva Challenge #62

IMG_7259
Hi! This week’s challenge is a colour challenge. We’ve all used Dark Chocolate and Scarlet Red metals

IMG_7175 the picture is very cute and I know it might be hard to see on the picture, but the dark chocolate ( apart from the little heart) is actually pleated on the right hand side of the card-this metal pleats so easily!

IMG_7170 I decided to use some Lawn Fawn dies and wanted to utilise two fonts and treat each font as a shaker element but with different shaker contents! After I cut out the sentiment, I carefully pushed some Scarlet red metal through the heart aperture and rubbed until the heart has dimension and stands a little proud of the cardstock aperture.
If you’re worried about the dimension being squished in transit, you can add in some embossing paste to fill it in.
Wonder if embossing paste would do wonders for my wrinkles too! 😉
The diecut section is backed with acetate, each area surrounded with foam pads/strips, the shaker element added and then encapsulated with some card on the reverse. Despite it looking gold, the stars and micro beads are actually silver.
Micro beads!! Remember them?!! I’ve a little stash from when we were all using them a few years ago!
If you’d like to join in- pop here, leave your photo of any project inspired by the photo – and you don’t need to use metal either!
Enjoy joining in!!

Diva Challenge #61

challenge61Brrr. It’s a freezing Wednesday and the challenge is a photo inspiration- I’ve gone a vague Valentine route.photo 5
I thought I might show you how easy it is to do embossing without a die-cutting machine. First I made a template that was supposed to be mittens but looked rather like Oven Gloves 😉 Cut them out after tracing onto the metal.
photo 1
Next, lay them onto the embossing folder, close the folder and use a rolling pin with plenty of pressure!
photo 2
And..ta-daah.. perfectly embossed metal with no equipment!
photo 3
The stamps are all from WPlus9 -stamped in London Fog (Memento) and Pale Tomato (Hero Arts)To create the little heart I added glue to some Lawn Fawn twine and held it in the heart shape until it dries. I’ve added some Scarlet Red hearts with the Wondrous White mittens.

wondrous white

The challenge is easy to join with- and you don’t need to use metal either challengepicJoin in here- you’ve one week to join in and there’s a voucher for the store to be won as usual.

Wishing I had a pair of mittens to wear to the school run today!

I’m also joining in with the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge…H is for ( Hearts- obviously!!)

See you tomorrow xx
