Clearly Besotted June Teasers Day 2

Hello! How are you today? We’re going a little Nordic today with the new set ‘Viking Plushies’. These cute swashbuckling guys are all ready to party like it’s 700AD 😉

I wanted to do a night time party banquet scene with the ‘Viking Plushies’. So this is what I ended up with.

To make the background, I blended some Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink into the area where the candles would be, added some Fossilized Amber around the edges. I then added a flame shaped sticky notes to add over the yellow for when I blended Black Soot over the top so I didn’t slip and blend black over the yellow area. I added some directional water splashes to give some texture to the background and look as if it was windy.

Next I coloured in the food laden table adding some fun dots to give a little magical vibe to the food. Obviously one of the cute vikings isn’t content to sit at the table but has clambered onto the table ready to pounce onto the chicken!

The Penguiviking is in charge of guarding the food against marauding robbers. This was such a fun scene to colour and there are so many different characters to create fabulous scenes with.

Please now go to see Clearly Besotted‘s blog (plus on Instagram too) and then jog over to the wonderful Michelle Short. We also have Francine Vuilleme and Alberto Gava who continue to delight us with their amazing projects so please visit them as well.

Do come back tomorrow for a look at another set!

Clearly Besotted May Release Day

It’s arrived…ta-daah! Release Day is here. You can feel the excitement mounting as people are counting down to this evening to grab their new favourite sets.

Normally I’d be showing a quick card that I’d produced…but today I have two. One idea is far better than the other but one is better executed.

Both projects are from the new set ‘School Day Play’. The replacement project is the bunny with his crayon rocket. Give a kid a pack of crayons and you unleash their imagination.

Want to see the first effort?

Well I like the concept much better. I think the long tall design just didn’t work. Too much maths and not enough colour ( sounds like the story of my school days!!)

I’d kind of had my eldest son in mind when I made this- he’s doing A Level Maths and it might as well be A Level Monkey Dialect for all I’d understand it. He’s nearly at his A level exams and he just needs to keep learning..and revising. Anyhow, I didn’t really like it, so ditched it in favour of crayon bunny.

The clouds are using the super useful Cloudy Days stencil from Clearly Besotted. We use it a lot on in our projects because it’s so good!

I do hope you’ve enjoyed the teasers this month. We’ve all certainly enjoyed your commenting and likes.

There’s more to see from Clearly Besotted‘s blog (and on Instagram too) and Michelle Short who has her blog post plus her video and then pop over to see our wonderful guest designers Kitty Day, Francine Vuilleme, and Alberto Gava.

As usual, the release goes live at 8pm GMT. All sets are available tonight on the Clearly Besotted store and also from Simon Says Stamp , Art CreatiuCloud 9 Crafts and Card Nouveau too.

Don’t forget to enter into the giant giveaway over on Clearly Besotted’s Facebook page. It’s a fabulous opportunity to win the whole release!

Thankyou for being with me again this month.

See you soon xx

Clearly Besotted May Teasers Day 4

Hey! How are you? We’re racing towards Release Day tomorrow, but for today- we’re looking at ‘Good Sport’ and I decided to get sketching again. The little rabbit hockey player wanted to play in goal so how could I not sketch a little goal for him to save a puck in front of ?

These sets really fire your imagination! I’ve never played ice hockey. When I lived in Nottingham I occasionally went skating but I spent all my time trying to stay upright- the thought of trying to play a tactical sport at the same time is way too hard. I simply drew a rough goal and coloured in with Copic markers and then added my coloured in bunny.

He’s definitely stopped the goal! Because it was such a simple card- I added a little patterned paper to give a little frame. Much quicker than anything else I could have done.

The sentiment is utterly perfect. It’s certainly a cute card you could consider sending to a valued friend!

I’m puckticularly ( sorry- I know that was bad) pleased to see a set that’s got sports in- as I know some of you love to have sporty sets. Whilst I’m not sport mad, I know many of you are.

All that’s left is for me to usher you onto Clearly Besotted‘s blog (plus on Instagram too) and then jog over to the wonderful Michelle Short. We also have Alberto Gava, Francine Vuilleme and Kitty Day who continue to delight us with their amazing projects so please visit them too!

See you tomorrow for two projects- one dud and one slightly improved!!😂

Clearly Besotted May Teasers Day 1

Hello! How are you? It’s Teaser time (which always makes me think of the 80s ‘hammer time’!!)

We have some gorgeous sets for you this release which are a little different and I loved this set ‘Stationery Plushies’ as you can use it in an illustrative way or ramp up the ‘cute’ with the fun office themed characters. I chose to combine them…

Most of the image has been coloured with Copic Markers and then I’ve added shading and detailing using Prismacolor pencils. I did love how the alcohol markers react with each other, so I could put ‘faux’ rays of light bouncing off the leaves by just stroking the lighter colour over the darker one. I wouldn’t usually do that, but any ink transfer doesn’t stay on the lighter pen and gives such a great effect.

Little Miss Stapler is wandering around at night, mischievously stapling everything in sight. Her owner is going to get quite a surprise when they find staples hammered into their Ikea desk 😉

The sentiment which is a perfect pairing comes from an older set called ‘Brighter Days’, and I think this would be a fun way to send up a ‘keep going’ cheerful note to a friend who is having a tough time.

We have some lovely returning guests this month, but first do visit the Clearly Besotted blog (plus they’re on Instagram too). As usual, please also go and visit my lovely teamie Michelle Short.

Then we have Francine Vuilleme, Kitty Day and Alberto Gava to visit who always create amazing things!

I’m sure they’d love you to comment on what they’ve created.

Hope to see you again tomorrow,

Altenew April 2022 Spring Garden Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello everyone! Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! I’m back celebrating a fun new release from Altenew involving dies, hot foil plates and stencils. You may have arrived from the blog of the lovely Laura Jane but if you want to start at the beginning, please head to Altenew’s card blog.

There are lots of wonderful new products including some Ultra Sticky Double Sided Tape which is going to be soo useful! I chose a couple of dies and one of the new hot foil plates to get creative with. I picked the Antique Blossoms die and Chevron Background Hot Plate.

I don’t do a lot of foiling, but this plate foiled easily and beautifully. I love the contrast between the foil and the dark blue. It delivers a gorgeous precise result. With having the chevron design, once it’s foiled, there is some leftover foil with the negative design, which I decided to turn into a second project. There’s an easy way to do it using a foil plate that comes with the Gemini Junior.

Once the leftover foil was transferred onto white cardstock, I simply added die cuts from the Itty Bitty Branches die cut from white cardstock. I also used the Hello Hugs die and added some black and pink dots to add depth. Such an easy technique and you could easily do this on a plain gold piece of cardstock if you don’t do hot foiling. Hot foiling is such a lot of fun, it’s worth trying it!

You can purchase anything from the new collection here. Here’s what the the new double sided sticky tape looks like too. Isn’t it nice having essential products that look beautiful too.

Giveaway Prizes

$300 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $25 gift certificate to 8 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 05/01/2022 for a chance to win.

Altenew will draw 10 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 05/03/2022.

I hope these projects give you some inspiration for all the new products – such a fabulous selection.

I’d love to direct you on to Reiko Tsuchida next- and I just know you’ll find something wonderfully creative at her blog.

Thanks for visiting and see you soon x

Clearly Besotted April Release Day!

It’s arrived! Have you made a list?! Which ones are your must-haves?! I did a little more paper-piecing to create today’s card. I’ve used the set ‘Sugar Rush Scenes’

I love a bit of paper piecing and this is the perfect set. The shapes are simple enough to trim out and if you like a little fussy cutting, this is pretty relaxing.

Stamp the image upside down then you can stamp the sentiment in between. Easy!

There’s still more to see today from Clearly Besotted and then onto Michelle.

We also have Francine, Adele, Mona and Alberto creating with the wonderful new sets, so please visit them as well.

Which have been your favourite sets? We always love to know (maybe because we’re a bit nosey!)

Thanks for visiting me this month, I really appreciate all your visits and comments x

Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 4

Well Hi! How’s your day going? Today is all about love; sending love and being loved! We’re revisiting the set ‘Paper Play’ with the cutest little raccoon. I wanted to try and do another origami shape.

It’s not easy folding the paper and this shape ended up looking like something that had eaten too much! So I recreated the same shape but just used pieces that I folded in the same way so it ended up thinner.

I stamped the heart from patterned paper and trimmed out and I love how it changes the look of the image. The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of patterned paper too. The whole card came together really quickly.

Unless you looked really closely you’d never know- and who doesn’t love a good shortcut. I did want to recreate one of the characters with a boat shaped card blank- maybe I’ll try that next week!

I added them onto a piece of patterned paper and then another piece onto the base. It provides impact without having to do any colouring; result!!

Please pop over to the Clearly Besotted blog and Instagram too. Plus also my superb team mate Michelle Short.

Please also go and visit Francine Vuilleme, Adele Emery, Mona Toth and Alberto Gava to view their wonderful creations.

See you tomorrow as it’s release day!

Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 3

Aren’t these sets fabulous so far. Today I have a funny one; one all about humour. Clearly Besotted always does some really funny phrases and this set is no exception. This set is called ‘Funny Friends’

We need a good giggle sometimes don’t we! I wanted to create a card that I could use a ‘wobbler’ on to make it look as if the characters were rolling around laughing. The issue was that the wobbler is quite large and the characters much smaller. I began by stamping one, stamping a mask of that one, trimming it out and then stamping the left hand rabbit on top. I actually made a mask of him too but I actually didn’t need to mask him off. That should have been enough, but the dip in the middle wasn’t disguising the wobbler so I came up with the idea to draw a lampshade which would be enough to hide the plastic wobbler.

They really are having fun- I do love the hilarity on their faces. This is what it does!!

Fun ! I tried to colour them in with the light source coming from above- but that was before I needed to put the lampshade in..which definitely isn’t coming from above.. or least not quite high enough. I’m not sure the recipient of the card will think too deeply about light sources, so maybe I’ll get away with it!

I added them onto a piece of patterned paper and then another piece onto the base. It provides impact without having to do any colouring; result!!

It’s now time to visit the Clearly Besotted blog and on Instagram too. Please also go and visit my welcoming teamie Michelle Short.

Then we have Francine Vuilleme, Adele Emery, Mona Toth and Alberto Gava to see, and look at the magical projects they’ve created.

See you tomorrow with another set!

Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 2

We’re back again with a set that I absolutely adore! It’s called Paper Play and I’ve had fun creating two projects (one later this week) using this set.

Who doesn’t love a bit of origami?! My Mum used to make all sorts of origami animals and when I saw this set, I just knew I needed to have some origami as the base for the cute critters. Having done a little origami, I knew that ideally I needed to have thin origami paper but I really wanted to use the pretty paper so I persevered and had to squish some rather chunky folds. But I was delighted in the end result, albeit with less precise folds than I’d have liked. Isn’t the butterfly so dimensional!

The little fox seems rather proud of himself for having created such a wonderful piece of origami and is busy showing all of his friends. The sentiment seems entirely appropriate too.

You wouldn’t need to make an origami butterfly- you could simply use a die cut one, or cut out a shape yourself. It makes however a nice change from a flat matt and I’ll definitely try some more shapes. My kids were rather amused seeing me watch some 11 year old kid on YouTube whilst I learned how to construct the shape!!

It’s time now to visit the Clearly Besotted blog and on Instagram too. As usual, please go and visit my lovely team mate Michelle Short.

Then we have Francine Vuilleme, Adele Emery, Mona Toth and Alberto Gava to visit who always create wonderful things!

Hope to see you tomorrow,

Clearly Besotted April Release Teasers Day 1

Helloooo! How are you all? We’re back with some lovely teasers for you ahead of release day on April 1st. There’s a lovely mix and I’ve loved creating with these sets this month and for today, am going a little musical with the set ‘Band Together’. You can create your very own marching band!

You might have noticed I often do themes with these teasers and I had a gorgeous set of scrapbook papers to hand called ‘Happy Hearts’ by Simple Stories. I love the colours and there was so much lovely paper to use so thought I’d stack3 tags together on a card particularly when I found I had one musical paper tag.

And three happy musicians each with their own instrument, playing loud and (hopefully) in tune! The design is very simple, just colouring in the animals using Copic Markers.

The sentiments are suitable for many occasions and I love that phrase (I use it myself a lot).

We have lots of guests this month, but first do visit the Clearly Besotted blog plus they’re on Instagram too. As usual, please go and visit my talented teamie Michelle Short.

Then we have Francine Vuilleme, Adele Emery, Mona Toth and Alberto Gava to visit who always create amazing things!

Hope to see you tomorrow when I’ve got another set to show you.
