Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 1

Hello lovely friends. Hope that you’re well and enjoying edging ever nearer to summer and sunshine! It’s Teasers time and we have some wonderful new sets to show you. Today’s set is perfectly topical and is called ‘Zoom In Party’. Is there anyone you know who hasn’t tried Zoom or some similar software?! We’ve all had to overcome not liking being virtually connected and I’m sure we’ve all got funny stories. Mine today is an Easel card…I actually have liked easel cards (even when they were trendy) but this one is perfect for the occasion.

There are a bunch of details to talk about. Firstly, if you want to make this yourself, it’s easy. Take a piece of cardstock 29cm x 15cm. Score along the long side at 9cm and 17cm. The larger end is where you’ll pop your faux keyboard on and the opposite end where you’ll attach a 14cm x 12cm piece of grey cardstock (this is the screen). I actually mitred the corners of 4 pieces of cardboard which was actually pretty stupid- just add a piece of white cardstock onto the grey piece (quicker, and much less faffy!).

Here’s the screen. Rather than line up each stamp, I just peeled the back acetate piece away carefully and stuck the 9 straight onto the stamp block. I’m always one for a shortcut. But, you could easily stamp, trim and position onto a piece of card. I did feel my card was missing one realistic part- the buffering sign. I’ve lost count of the amounts of times I’ve been kicked out of a Zoom meeting (not for misbehaving, mind) but because our internet is so rubbish. So I drew on the buffering sign to give it some authenticity!

The keyboard was just strips of grey cardstock. It’s not precise- there are keys missing but the main idea is idea. You do need to put the strip nearest the fold on using foam pads as this is what keeps the easel from collapsing. I used two…just to be fancy πŸ˜‰

The sentiments included in the set are perfect for this time- but once we’ve all stopped using Zoom as much, you can still use this set as stand alone images.

If you fancy making one, this is what it should look like on the side. The ‘screen’ will stick up past the ‘easel’ part and you will need a bigger than normal envelope. I can also imagine this type of card for teens or boys with their favourite game or name on the screen. So many possibilities!

It’s time to visit Clearly Besotted’s blog then Michelle, Lisa and we’re welcoming Francine Vuilleme back plus it’s lovely to have Kitty Day guesting too.

See you tomorrow,

Keren x

Oh my goodness! You are too clever. A perfect way to have a laptop as an easel card! The buffering sign is genius! The sentiment on the space bar, so cool. The whole card is superb Keren. Also, I did have a chuckle at the mitreing of the corners. We like to challenge ourselves don’t we. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Boy, you’re into these fancy folds, aren’t you. This one is fabulous, clever and, oh so, fun to look at. At first glance, thought you’d just laid the colored pieces on your laptop but, I see now, it is so much more intricate in design and execution. I bow, once again, to your creative mastery.

Awesome design ! You’ve answered all my needs for an idea for a male card in one post, thank you. Your card is so much fun, love the fun colours & poke at how useless internet coverage is lately. Brilliant x
