Altenew Build-A-Flower: Semi-Double Chrysanthemum Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

March 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm 49 comments

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely Monday. I’m delighted to be involved with this special Build-A-Flower blog hop celebrating the release of the Semi-Double Chrysanthemum. The blog hop is starting at the Altenew Card Blog and the whole list is at the bottom of this post. You should have arrived here from Katrina Howe’s blog, or you can start at the Altenew’s Card Blog.

The set is really gorgeous and I chose to use it this way..

I know you don’t get chrysanthemums this colour, but I’m using artistic licence! This layering stamp set features a beautiful 4-layer chrysanthemum and three 3-layer leaves to add to your handmade cards, scrapbook layouts, bullet journal pages, and other DIY paper crafting projects.

The Build-A-Flower: Semi-Double Chrysanthemum special edition stamp and die set is only sold as a bundle. It includes one 6″ x 8″ clear photopolymer stamp set (16 individual stamp images) and one coordinating die set (4 dies). You can get hold of the stamp and matching die set from the Altenew store here.

I love the sentiment and it fits so perfectly with the florals. You can create so many beautiful colours and shades just using different inks. I love the more neutral palette with the minty green aqua leaves. You can also get hold of a stamp/die and ink bundle plus if you have the Build-A-Flower subscription plan you can get your savings too.

I wanted to create layers without fuss, so added a layer of Grafix Duralar Matt film and added the extra flowers underneath so you can see the filtered images. It always amazes me just how much dimension and realism you can get from a stamp and ink. The multi step images are easy to line up.

You can see I’ve allowed some of the flowers to stick out past the matt film. It gives the card a frame without cluttering it too much. I added some black and white ink dots to add some movement into the card design. The sentiment is just stamped and white embossed onto some dark jade cardstock.

There’s also an exciting giveaway. What’s a celebration without prizes?! There’s $200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 03/07/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 03/09/2021.

Before you go, there’s plenty more loveliness over at Laura Jane’s blog. We’d love you to continue hopping !

That card is absolutely fabulous. If Chrysanthemums came in these colors, I would grow them in my garden. Love those shades of grey/aqua. Good to see you at Altenew.

What a great idea to use the matte film! I love it! The layered stamps give dimension already but you’ve elevated the idea. I’m a fan of the greys, so really like what you did.

Oh, I love artistic license with the flower colors! What a great look! The vellum really softens the whole card and lets the one flower just pop. This new flower set is just awesome!

Wow. Simply stunning. I love the effect you created using the film. To me it reminds me of vellum. I always forget to use it and actually need to get more. Such a beautiful card you created using this floral.
