Clearly Besotted April Teasers Day 2

So glad you’ve all come back today. For today’s showcase set, I’ve chosen ‘An Open Book’. I adore reading, and read so much with my kids when they were younger. Reading takes us out of our lives and somewhere magical instead.

I love the sentiment, and that was the idea behind my card. I tried to make a portal- not really having been in one, nor knowing what one is like! I imagined a hole and so added a circular mask and then blended some Distress Inks. Add in a little yellow watercolour and that was the basis.

You can see I splattered some water onto the piece, dabbed the water off and then used white and silver gel pen in straight lines to add a sense of dynamism and a moving portal!!!

The fairy has come to add her magic and make the reading experience even better. She’s sprinkling fairy dust over the pages using some Stickles.

It’s just an adorable set and I love that it’s also linked to another set with tonnes of reading related sentiments. Perfect for teachers and kids alike!

I’m back again tomorrow- with plenty more adorable-ness!!

Don’t forget to visit the Clearly Besotted blog, then to see Michelle and Lisa. We have a lovely guest designer this month – Rina Glait, so do go and give her some love too!

Wow! I love this! It is a portal indeed! The fairy dust and silver pen all finish it off perfectly. Wonderful card Keren which I think really highlights the magic of reading ❤

Gorgeous card Keren, I think we are all feeling like we need a magic portal at the moment to escape the weird world we’ve found ourselves in, stay safe and well. Jenny xx

Reading sets are always good for me too 🙂 Love your portal. Books really are a portal to another world. With all that’s going on, they are perfectly suited to needing to escape! xx
