Clearly Besotted February Teasers Day 3

Hello, lovely people!
I hope you’re having a fabulous day. Me? I’ll be cutting and sticking, sewing and racking my brains for some projects coming up soon.
For the moment though, the matter at hand is all things Clearly Besotted and their awesome new release.
I’m using two sets today; ‘Picture It Jungle’ along with ‘Jungle Plushies’. They are a perfect pairing and I thought the little lion would be perfect chilling beside the glistening waters.
Truth be told, there is no story, other than a confession; or rather two confessions.
The first is that my story yesterday was written to a deadline- albeit with the clock ticking to the scheduled post time. I finished it with 2 minutes to spare. I am a little too tired as I’m sitting here to conjure up a story and I’m not skating that close to the wire for this post.
The second confession is that this design had much promise. Do you ever get to colouring half way through and wished you’d stopped 10 minutes before? Me too! Colouring aside, I then thought it would be a great idea to make a hexagonal card. I made a hexie base and the card just looked wrong. So I chopped it in half and messed around with the front for quite a while. It was heading for the bin when I considered a normal slim type card and plonked it on and called it done. I realise it’s a little unusual looking- but that’s my cards for you all over!! 😉😂
No matter what I did, I couldn’t get the sentiment in the right place. I commandeered the sentiment from ‘Garden Plushies’, chopped the first half of the sentiment off and decided that would do!
Not a lot of finesse and an awful lot of faff. My favourite bit of the card is the water..reminds me of the ‘Lake Of Shining Waters’ which to any Anne of Green Gables fans, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
Little lion is sat there, merrily resting against a large jungle-y leaf, completely unaware of the hassle it was to get him there! 😂
I did lots of colouring with Alcohol markers and then added a watercolour-y wash for the sky. I decided I’d make too much mess doing the whole sky, so there’s simply a hint!
As usual, I’m doing my black and white dot doodling which also hide a multitude of blending sins…you’d be amazed how much better your colouring looks with doodling on ( it’s the best tip I can give you…kinda cheating !!).
Any minute now a Cheju monkey will descend from the low hanging vines, slap the lion and chatter with laughter…as for why, well you’ll have to guess, but I’ll give you a clue; it all started when the lion stole his hair gel!
Tomorrow’s creation is a much less fun affair but perhaps a card for the more sophisticated amongst us, ( that counts me out then 😂).
Next head over to the Clearly Besotted Blog and over to the ever lovely Michelle
See you tomorrow xx

I love the hexagon element on the slim card, Keren! I think it looks fab but I’m sorry that you had so much trouble putting it together. I feel your pain! I love how you did the colouring on this (not keen on how mine came out!), love all the dot work xx

You may have gone throught the tortures of the damned for this card but it was so worth it. The coloring is spectacular…yes, I do remember the “Lake of Shining Waters”, being a Green Gable girl, myself. I think this card is a delight…Just think, with the monkey as an interactive element it would be another masterpiece.
