Clearly Besotted February Teasers Day 1

Hello everyone. Wasn’t it just Christmas ? We’re running headlong into February already!
It’s Teaser time for Clearly Besotted’s February release. There’s a whole lot of cuteness as you’d expect from Clearly Besotted, but with a real sense of spring and summer which is most welcome as I’m sat typing in the dark evenings!
First project today is full on summer. The little guys from ‘Sweet Plushies’ here are actually stranded on a desert island. The looming volcanoes are from another set; ‘Prehistoric Plushies’ and the current dilemma is who eats whom first to stay alive…
The debate centres around Miss Wilhomena Waffle and Mister Patrick Pancake. Both are probably going to be the prime candidate. Canny Miss Isla Icecream had remained unobtrusive until the cool sticky sweet puddle around Bella Bubble-tea became a real giveaway. Isla argued that waffle was really only good fresh and already Patrick was frying with the heated syrup under the sun, and wouldn’t it be a good idea for a little portion?
They all heard ‘Wooooooooooooooo’ and spun around to see Wilhomena shuffling towards the sea. They shouted ‘nooo’, but she was too far away to hear them. Isla reckoned it was because she was hot.
Before anyone could stop her, Wilhomena was a bit soggy mess, and her downfall hadn’t even satisfied anyone’s hunger.
You can see the fab backdrop. I’ve brought the palm tree forward into the front of the die cut circle frame to try and link the characters and scenery better. It’s all coloured with Nuvo Alcohol markers and there’s a little AquaFlow watercolouring for the sky details.
Patrick felt more and more stiff, as the boiling syrup was ‘cooking’ his edges. He tried coughing to dislodge them, but ended up with a mouthful of sand as the breeze blew at exactly the wrong time. Now sticky, sandy and stiff, this desert island adventure was turning into a nightmare.
As time went on, the rippling waves became a real draw for the merry band of calories. The gentle lapping sea became irresistible and they all waddled down to enjoy the spray even if they couldn’t sample the water itself!
You can see the water effect below. I’ve just used some Dura-Lar matt and coloured some alcohol pens onto them. Trim the top into a wave shape and then add some white gel pen dots for ‘spray’.
Sadly there was no happy ending. The only one who survived was Bella. Her bubble-tea soon evaporated, but being a tough and inventive character, she found freshwater and survived…until the volcanoes erupted…..;-)
Hope you liked these gorgeous characters- you’ll be able to see the full stamp set on Release Day (Feb 1st).
The lovely Lisa is in the throes of unpacking after moving, so she’ll sadly not be able to create for this release. Here’s hoping you’re back to your sorted self soon Lisa!
So for this release, its me and Michelle. Do pop over to the Clearly Besotted blog and then to Michelle’s blog.
I’m back tomorrow with some more creatures, but a little closer to home!

Oh my cuteness! This is so fun, Keren! Who would have thought to combine the sets? Only you! 🙂 I love it, what a great idea and I love the story behind them all, even if it wasn’t a happy ending! xx

Sometimes I think you’ve missed your calling. Maybe you’d be better suited to be an author…but then, no, after looking closely at your gorgeous coloring and brilliant use of design, I say, no, an artist she is. This is just adorable, story and all. Love how you did the water…you’re still the acetate queen.

Even though there wasn’t a happy ending for these calorie laden cuties, I loved the story! I have no idea what dura-lar mat is but it looks interesting and like that they dipped their tootsies in the water before the volcano erupted on them! xx
