Clearly Besotted June Teasers Day 3

Helloooo dearies. It is so wonderful to see you here on Day 3 of the teasers.

Today we’re going upper class; royal to be precise. Unaccustomed as I am to writing silly stories, I possibly thought I’d try and squeeze one in today.

Again. For those who find the stories annoying, please just look at the pictures and know that the sets I’ve used are two fold; ‘Love London’ and ‘Scene It City’.

There. Isn’t she cute? The girl who wanted to be Queen.

To preserve her anonymity, we’ll just call her Lizzie. From the time she could talk, she insisted that her mum and dad called her ‘Her Royal Hipponess’, and couldn’t understand why they never did it without laughing. She just knew in her heart of hearts that she was destined for great things. She did all in her power to meet the Queen of England. She wrote letters, checked the royal twitter feed (@royalfamily for any of you wanting to follow them) and tried desperately to meet her.

It just wasn’t to be. She couldn’t get close. She suspected it might be because she wasn’t a human, but had always assumed herself superior, so continued with her quest. Lizzie wasn’t content to to wait until she became 100 years old to get a glimpse of the Queen, even via a card, she hatched a plan.

At this point, I really should interject and explain that Scene It City makes the most wonderful frames when added in a square. This was the start of my slightly over the top shaker card. The little boxes and taxis actually make really cute shaker elements, and Lizzy, dear Lizzy is sat there proudly….

The plan was quite simple. Visit London, go to Buckingham Palace, demand an audience with and then overthrow the Queen, putting herself on the throne. Easy. Absolutely no reason to suggest it would go anything other than perfectly!

Well our intrepid royal wannabe got as far as the palace. Sadly it wasn’t an open day and she gazed longingly at the masses of gold and gleaming windows. ‘Call me delusional’, she whispered to herself  ‘that palace belongs to me, baby’. Her whisper was somewhat louder than intended and she was suddenly aware of a number of eyes peering suspiciously at her. The most piercing of the sets belonged to a member of the palace guard, who’d just arrived to do changing of the guard. He continued to stare her down, and she shuffled off awkwardly, seething inwardly that he hadn’t recognised her royal credentials.

As she passed a group of Japanese tourists, they went a little crazy. What I neglected to tell you was that being the avid sewist that she was, with a little help from her Dad, she had fashioned a royal crown. It was identical in every way to HRH’s own crown (as much as a coat hanger and an old purple velvet dress could muster). The sight of a royal hippo bedecked in a crown was too much for the group of royalist holidaymakers. They ran screaming and clicking their digital cameras at her, and she knew, finally, that she had arrived. She still adorns several postcards still sold today in Tokyo, and went back home knowing that she may never be Queen of England, but she was ever as royal as her namesake!!

Do go (by horse drawn carriage, of course) to visit crown princesses Steph & Jenny then bow reverentially to

Lady Lisa of Letchworth and Marquess Michelle of Middlesborough

See you tomorrow,

Keren x

Seriously, this is a book in itself. And then there’s this fabulous shaker card. Love the additions of the London icons you’ve included. How fun to read a story and the accompanying card. Maybe you could patent and bottley this.

Hahahahah! You should start writing stories! I also love that you’ve given Lisa and Michelle the most fabulous epithets. Love this big quirky card! xx
