Tonic Nuvo Hybrid Diamond Inks

I don’t know if you’ve caught any of the shows on Hochanda celebrating Tonic being with them for one year? Well over the past week, there have been a multitude of launches and I thought I’d show you some of the projects using these lovely new products!

The first show involved some Tim Holtz products including his Mixed Media Mat and his baby Travel Stamp Platform.

It also had on the new range of Tonic Nuvo Hybrid Inks. These were already a favourite of mine as they’ll cope with watercolour or alcohol based mediums- the perfect all-rounder ink pad- but there are some beautiful new colours (12 in all) and I thought I’d show you some of the projects I created

This first project just shows how gorgeous the new colour palette is, and how well all the inks work together.

This shows that the inks work so beautifully with watercolour; I’ve used my Nuvo AquaFlow markers and matching Nuvo drops.

This project shows their versatility on other surfaces; stamping on vellum is easy. They do need a little heat setting, so I could use them on acetate too but it needs to be heat resistant.

The Hybrid Inks are just as at home in combination with alcohol markers and I’ve created this using some of the brand Nuvo Alcohol Marker colours!

You can of course, use them direct to paper. They make a fun background using them this way, and then I’ve stamped them inner and outers of the flowers to show you can use them in a traditional inking way too.

Fancy stamping on more unusual surfaces? ‘This is a porcelain tag. It did bleed very slightly and will also be perfect for fabric; a tight woven cotton ( or cotton blend) will give great precise results and with a little heat setting before you wash them ( cool hand wash) they’ll be perfect for creating unique wearable items too!

I hope these have given you a taste of how adaptable the inks are. The Black Shadow Hybrid Inks is my go-to ink for nearly every occasion! Do look out for these inks online or your local store- I highly recommend them!

See you soon!
