Clearly Besotted Teasers Day 4

February 28, 2018 at 8:30 am 21 comments

Hello! How are you all?

Thankyou so much for the lovely comments and the way you’ve made me smile reading them.

I have to confess, this one may disappoint you as it’s a bit of a dud. I had an idea.. what I thought was a good idea and, well… add to it some dodgy wonky stamping and here’s what you end up with!

You may think I’ve done it upside down- but I was trying to emulate the idea of hanging flowers in those trendy restaurants (just check out Pinterest!- I can’t find a working link to credit this photo unfortunately) . Just imagine instead of what I’ve created- trimming off the ‘wooden’ bits and just leave the flowers (which are a really stunning set).

I’m thinking of starting a new series ‘How to fix your cards’ πŸ˜‰

First up, I ‘borrowed’ the wand and star from the ‘Fairy Tale Fairy’ and the ‘wood’ from ‘Into The Woods’, I added a mask when I wanted to elongate the sticks and then drew the lines further up.

Because I wanted the stars in the foreground, I stamped and trimmed masks and then stamped the tulips (from the amazing mini ‘Spring Tulips’ set) over the top.

Then I just coloured the tulips with alcohol markers and added the background with Nuvo Aquaflows. So now just imagine half the card and I’ll be very happy!

The sentiment is from Sweet Sentiments and all sets apart from that one, have matching dies.

I have been lucky enough to have been given a special Β£40 gift card to the Clearly Besotted store for my lovely blog readers (thanks Clearly Besotted)!. I will be picking a random winner so do leave me a comment about which set is your favourite so far. The deadline for comments is the 5th March and I’ll contact the winner shortly after that.

In the meanwhile- do visit the blog to see what the other girls have been up to! Release is tomorrow at 8pm GMT.

See you soon,

xx

Keren, you did make me chuckle! Not at the card, but at your words. For a start you are way too harsh, even though your card may not have turned out as you envisaged, it’s still lovely, and full of colour and interest. Happy to join in on the how to fix a card series, I have plenty to go in there!! Xx

Keren, once you know the thought behind the hanging flowers, those beautiful tulips don’t look upside down at all. The colours are fab.

Seriously, this is beautiful and the masking…such intricate work, cutting them out. The stamp should come with a disclaimer, “Warning; Contents may cause warped fingers”. Can’t find any flaws on the card, either, so have no idea what your talking “wonky” about. Seems just as stunning as all your creations, to me.

Wow I really like the colour palette you have gone for – looks rather magical especially with the stars! I think we’re often the worst critic for our own work as we know what we wanted it to look like! As for favourite set – hmmm I would have to say the fairy – she’s just adorable oh and the unicorns!

Very clever design –especially if someone is familiar with the hanging flowers.

Well I think they look amazing and so refreshingly different hanging from the top. Upside down flowers in restaurants, not something I’ve ever seen in real life, but then I don’t frequent swanky or trendy restaurants! Off to take a peek on Pinterest.

I like this! It’s fun and funky. Actually, with the way you colored the wood and and the bright flowers with the stars, it reminds me a little of Mary Englebreit, but I’m not sure why. Maybe the color palette? But whatever the case, I think anyone would love getting that card. As far as my favorite set so far…do I have to choose? I think the silly sausage one surprised me the most with it’s great sentiments and adorable dogs, and I really like that there’s a set of stamps out there with girl pirates. However, I think I’m most drawn to the spring florals, just because I love florals, and I think my nieces would love the fairies and unicorns the best. So how’s that for a total non-answer? Thanks for sharing with us. πŸ˜€

Dud, I don’t think so. I really like it. Tulips and the sausage dog are tying for first place at the moment, it may come down to the flip of a coin!!

I actually quite like your card, Keren! It’s clever and unique! I’ve really enjoyed seeing your teasers this week, so thank you for sharing! My favorite sets from this release are both the fairy tale sets, the sausage dogs, and the little get well kitties! I’m super excited about this CB release! Hugs πŸ™‚
