World Card Making Day Blog Hop !

October 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm 90 comments

Hi! Welcome if you’ve joined from Agnieszka’s blog ! Can’t wait to see what she’s magicked up! If you’re just visiting and would like to do the hop. start off at the Winnie & Walter blog and follow the links!

I’m joining in with the Winnie & Walter blog hop especially for World Card Making Day. We thought you’d enjoy a hop along with all the other challenges that Winnie & Walter are setting. Just go and visit the Facebook page to see all the fun events that are happening. Apart from the hop, there are prizes.. so keep reading!

I’ve created a card background with just one stamp…

img_7958

Anyone recognise it?

It’s a hat. A simple conical party hat from the versatile The Party Set

w_w_theparty_6x8stamp_webprv_large

For UK & Europe shoppers- they have it here .

Not just a simple hat when you make it the star though!

I’ve stamped it over and over in Versamark, varying the direction and concentration of the image. Then sprinkle over white embossing powder and heat to set. Then add a load of colour using Zig Clean Color markers and vary the intensity of colour with a waterbrush.img_7957

This creates a fun background. I only coloured where the hats actually were and left the background space white. This meant I could cut out the white spaces so it brought a focus to the actual pattern.

Add the card onto an acetate blank and you immediately have your eye drawn to the everywhichway head gear! Then simply add in some die cut wording from the In A Word: Hello Cutaway with a few dainty butterflies from the Essentials: Audrey Cutaways and you have a really different greeting, just perfect for World Card Making Dayimg_7928

For  wonderful prizes in honour of this inspiring day, random winners will be drawn from all the comments left on the different stops along the hop. Each winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Winnie & Walter shop! Wahoo. So get commenting! (Comments for the hop are open until 23:59 CST on 7th October)

I’ve the pleasure of directing you to the lovely Emily Leiphart’s blog; she’ll have created something amazing. Half of the fun is for us guys to see what everyone has created, so we’ll be hopping along with you!

Have a fun World Card Making Day whether you’re working or creating. I’ll be at the Port Sunlight Happy Stampers show, meeting up with crafty friends and doing a little demoing too. More about that on another post!

See you soon

Keren xx

getouttatown! Of course they put you after Aga – a hard act to follow for certain – but of course you blow the roof off the place. I was thinking geometric background. Party hat?!?!? And then to cut out the “white spaces”. So. Very. Cool.
