Share The Love Week- Transparent Challenge

Welcome back to more of the ‘Share The Love’ week with the two fabulous companies- Ellen Hutson and Winnie & Walter. Today’s challenge is ‘Transparent’ and it’s all about play on the word. You probably will know (If you’ve hung around this blog for any length of time) that I  love acetate and vellum and so decided to create a couple of projects celebrating the theme.

I’ve used a patterned acetate base, tent folded and then die cut the Cover Model: Leaf Effect Cutawaycover_model_the_leaf_effect_cutaway_large

Ellen Hutson generously sent us two products to combine with Winnie & Walter products; the first I’ve used;  ‘Totally Awesome’ by Julie Ebersole.

which I’ve stamped onto acetate with white Stazon, and then trimmed down to create individual words. I attached them onto some coloured strips of card with brads and then glued them onto the acetate base.

The second project I’ve created is using the transparency to act as a see-through base to add elements onto to act as though they’re hanging mid-air.

I die cut a circle from a tent folded blank and then drew two diagonal lines in the centre of the circle and cut them out with a craft knife. I then added some acetate behind the gap and adhered it all together.

I’ve also used the Brushstroke Wonderful die

and combined it with the Winnie & Walter set I never get tired of; In Bloom; Elsa’s Flora

You can see the acetate stamped part; it’s such a challenge to attach them. I’ve adhered the ‘wonderful’ together twice and then to the acetate sentiment. By seeing where the small bits of the die-cut are touching, you can add adhesive behind those small parts and then the glue is disguised.

Hope these have inspired you a little to join in with the transparent challenge. There’s a different challenge each day this week. Do have a look and try to join in with the challenges over on the Winnie & Walter blog ;– there are prizes too! 2 random commenters from the Share the Love Week posts on the w&w blog will receive the stamp set and die from Ellen Hutson I’ve used here (thank you Ellen!).

Each day 1 randomly drawn participant will receive a $25 credit to Ellen Hutson AND a $25 credit to the W&W shop.

See you soon xx

Your mind works in magical ways…I’m agog over both these cards. The first one dropped my jaw (again!), the second sent my into paroxisms of glee. Consequently, I’m sitting here with drool all over my face. No one can touch you during this Share the Love week.
