Clearly Besotted Teasers Day 4

Teaser Time

Hi everyone! Hasn’t it been brilliant so far- seeing how everyone puts a different creative spin on the same stamp sets. Today I’m just focusing on a super cutie set; ‘Hot Stuff’.

Dragons, and  cute ones and twin ones, and fire and heart balloons and…well sweet overload! This little dragon is being heralded in a blaze of balloons (ha). She’s fortunately too newly born to breath fire or she might pop all of the heart balloons. I’m unsure as to whether newborn dragons can fly from birth (or breathe fire for that matter), but I’m sure someone will correct me ;-p .

I have to admit that often on cards, some of the details are simply serendipitous. The whole card concept came about from an left over piece of folded cardstock I’d laid aside after trimming down another base. It meant that the baby dragon (dragonette?!) was the main part and not lost in CAS’ness. I cut out some clouds freehand and then added the tops of the heart balloons onto the card.

The card is shored up with an acetate structure (or simply strips of acetate to give the illusion of floating balloons). The ‘sugar’ effect on the balloons was simply because my wink of Stella pen had run out so I reached for some old school normal glitter (Stampin’Up Dazzling Diamonds). I love the textured effect it gives! I coloured the balloons with Zig Clean Color pens (and yes, it bugs me that color isn’t spelled the English way!!).

The second card is just very very simpleIMG_4301

Having had toddler twins myself, this picture is a familiar memory. Obviously dragon fire at this point in time mustn’t be harmful to the little ones- maybe it’s just like a playful pinch. (getting carried away now aren’t I).

Simple colouring with Copics, a little more ‘sugar’ glitter and you’re done. Really quick and easy. This set, isn’t just for little newborns- my second eldest who loves fantasy type fiction practically squealed when she saw the set. She now has one of the dragons on her folder for school!

Well, that’s enough saccariny goodness for now. I hope you’ll pop over to the Clearly Besotted blog to see what else Stephanie and the Design Team have created. We’ve only one day left of teasers in the morning and tomorrow night at 10pm you can fill your boots (or baskets) with some of these superb sets!

Thankyou for all of your lovely comments too, it really does make this job worthwhile!

See you tomorrow xx

Two fabulous cards, really love the idea of the balloons floating on the first card, such an amazing talent! x

OH Keren!! How spectacular those little dragons are … I have a new granddaughter [born two months early] who has the heart of a dragon – not fire breathing, but mightily strong!! Your card is the essence of the 100+ preemies in the NICU!! Fantastic!!! [of course the last? Indicative of any sibs riding in any car, on any continent!!]

Any infant dragon born today deserves lots of lovely, floaty balloons…so happy that this adorable creature got them. Think the glitter makes it extra special. And the second card, can I just say, the epitome of cuteness. Sa-weeeeet! Of course, wouldn’t expect anything less from the Queen of Card Engineering.
