Winnie & Walter October Release Day 1

Oct27a

Hi! Hope you’re all ok.

Today is the first look at Winnie & Walter‘s new October release. It’s a massive release & today we’re focussing on In Bloom: Anna’s Flora, In Bloom: Elsa’s Flora, In bloom: Renee’s Leaves and some dies. The Cutaways are ‘Home’, Joy’, ‘Merry, ‘Peace’ & Thanks.

The first card above is just Renee’s Leaves & the Thanks cutaway. The set screams ‘Autumn’ or Fall but we’re pretty much at the end of that season so I wanted to show how you could use it for another time. Introducing blue (I know, there aren’t blue foliage normally!!) just gives the card a more current look! I’ve only used Distress inks to swipe across with a blending tool; no great care taken!

Next project? using In Bloom: Elsa’s Florals and ‘Joy’ cutaway.oct27c

I know it’s a bit unusual. I think I was in a quirky mood that day. These blooms can be traditional or contemporary- just depends how you dress them up. Change the colours, and you’ve a whole new look.

I’ve added in the frame from Essentials: Audreys Cutaways to try and ‘frame’ the piece and give it a sharper look.

Last, but by no means, least is my card using In Bloom:Elsa’s Florals plus the ‘Merry’ cutaway.

Yes, it is different!!

I die cut out 5 white ‘merry’s. I then adhered them together just linking small parts of them. I then cut small holes at each side and at matching gaps on the base card, which is kind of a school ‘A’ frame, without the centre. I stamped the mistletoe from the set onto the bottom die-cut and also on a spare piece of card, and coloured them in. Then you simply link small ring onto the merry cut outs and link them onto the base card.

Ok, it’s not the most stable of cards, but you can guarantee your recipient is unlikely to have had anything quite like it before!

Do go and visit the Winnie & Walter blog– their design team is super talented and you’ll see some amazing projects showcasing these sets!

I’m back tomorrow with another set of projects! Which of today’s sets do you think will be your favourite?!

(does all this explain why my blog’s been a little quiet recently?!)

xx

Love the card, perhaps you could have used some acetate to give more stability.

Hi! Yes, that’s a great idea. I didn’t use it this time just to avoid glare with the camera, but now you’ve said it, I might add a panel before I send it xx

Wow Keren what stunning projects!!! They are all gorgeous but if I had to pick a favourite I think the ‘thanks’ card would just nudge in as the winner! The greens and blues you have used make a wonderful foliage display 🙂

Keren!! Aside from your out-of-the-box card bases (which you know I’m a huge fan of!) I’m really in love with how you colored the florals with the black spatters, and then left the white spaces on the second one. Wonderful!!
