‘Off The Card’ Project & Changes

Up on the Make The Day Special Stamp Store blog this week- we have a series called  Contrasts and we’ve all paired up to do a day or more each. I got ‘Colour vs Black and White’.

Sarah and I picked the Altenew stamp set ‘Painted Butterflies’altenewShe did an amazing job-going all beautifully subtle. I wanted to do bright. To make the card- I cut out a hollow heart shape from acetate. I folded it in half and stacked the foam pads so the heart remained at an angle.closeupSimple- just a really fun idea to extend beyond your card blank!closeI added a strip of acetate that I tucked behind the heart and then added the sentiment.

This week at home we’re embracing changes. My eldest wanted a new bed. Between sourcing one and helping her (or Steve, to be in fact) pick up the bed, then realising it was the wrong one.

Then she decided to take down the bunk beds herself. Cue more Steve and then me to clean up the aftermath. The room is normally shared and so we had to remove some of the other daughters belongings and stuff them somehow into the next room. The next room is in fact the younger boys room who were initially reasonably happy with the arrangement but as the new sibling brings a whirlwind of mess with her, the changes are being embraced slowly.

Thing is. The colour of the bed was wrong.

So back to Ikea.

Problem is now… the mattress is uncomfortable.

Cue ANOTHER trip to Ikea.

At quite a trek from here to there the bed is turning out quite possibly the most expensive in history.

On the plus side, she’s very very happy.

The changes I wish would happen involve getting the dog trained.

In so many areas.

Trained for starters to not mess in the kitchen.

I came down the other morning to find …well…the mess is indescribable.

Let’s hope he changes soon..

See you when I’ve taken out shares in kitchen roll, poop bags and Antibacterial spray. xx

You always do transparency so beautifully! This is no exception! Love it! ….and yeah, things we do for the kids, right? I bet that all is well since the eldest got a bed that she really really wanted. I bet she will remember this for a long time 🙂

First the card…SPECTACULAR…so brilliantly engineered and fabulously executed. You’re some kind of genius. Second..sounds like the bed incident(s) were trying and tiresome. What we go through for our offspring! Third, dooty bags, etc. When you find where to get the stock, let me know.
