Double Glitter technique & Dazzling Diva Challenge #41

Hey! Ok- just adjust your computer. This is full-on glitter and really not the norm.

Over at Add A Little Dazzle, Monica challenged us to try the Double Glitter Stencil technique.

I have to admit- I was a little bothered by the amount of glitter. But- it’s good to try something new!

Here’s what you’d need

A double sided adhesive sheet, glitter and some sort of stencil.

Now, at this point it’s worth mentioning that you really need to add something under the stencil BEFORE you stick it onto one of the adhesive sides. Because my stencil was plastic, I thought it’d be easy enough to remove.

I nearly strained my arm muscles trying to remove it. So- add some soap or Versamark to the side of the stencil you’re going to stick to the adhesive.glit10Make sure you rub the glitter down well- it needs to be firmly stuck into the adhesive. Once you’ve done the first colour- you then remove the stencil. Add the second colour of glitter.

You have to add the glitter carefully or it ends up migrating out of the lines!

Then..just remove the backing from the adhesive and carefully add to your cardstock

And ta..daa..glit5You can do multi-coloured.. which is somewhat labour intensive

But.. ends up looking like this!glitmain2

You can see the fabby craft metal on both projects.. I’ve used the reverse of the metal for this ‘happy’ and Perfect Peacock for the first project.

If you want to join in (& you don’t need to have craft metal sheets) just create a project using this technique, and  using this week’s Dazzling Diva Challenge or Anything Goes.  Then, upload it to your blog or online gallery.

If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword DIVA41. Then leave a link to your project using the linky widget at the bottom of this post. Please use a direct link to your post and not just your blog.  Enter for a Chance to Win a $15 Gift Certificate from the Boutique.

Do go and check out the blog to see what the other Diva’s have created.

Better dash, need to go and do school pick up- they’ve gone back to school today! xx

Two fabulously glittery cards, love the first one as it’s a gorgeous colour and very pretty. Hope you have managed to get rid of most of the glitter you have had hanging around by now lol 🙂 xxx
