Summer Garden Party with Roald Dahl & Ice Bucket Challenge!

IMG_3175.JPGI’d love to be having a garden party right now. It’s not really the weather, is it? On the plus side, that’s less cooking!!
A little while back I created this party set using the Roald Dahl products from docrafts to show that it doesn’t need to be used just for kiddy projects!

IMG_3176.JPGit was really easy to brighten up some simple paper party products- all really inexpensive but when all the prettying up happens it doesn’t cost too much either.

Last night the family got together to do the Ice Bucket Challenge. I’ve read quite a bit of the pros and cons of this challenge but it’s great to encourage the kids (& us) to go a bit further than the usual and do a little to help others. We decided that most of us would contribute towards Meningitis Now which is a charity close to our heart. Sadly ( or relievedly!) as my eldest was videoing me, my memory became full so it didn’t tape! Ha ha!
The kids were good sports. We’d been out for the evening and it was actually pitch black, cold and pretty wet by the time we’d finished it!
It reminded me that there are few things we can all do together that take no skill and can all be enjoyed by any age.
The screams of shock and laughter were very loud ( bless those neighbours!!) but it was really good fun. I’d encourage you all to have a go..but do it in your own way..buckets full of ice may be too much, but I’m sure you can creatively come up with a way of giving. I’ll leave you with this link to a guy who put all the Ice Bucket Challenges into a larger context..love this!
