Hey! How has it come around so quickly? Hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog hop- there’s still time to hop and comment before Friday & win some fab prizes. It’s the weekly challenge over at Add a Little Dazzle & this week it’s an insirational photo. As we’ve been hopping with Altenew, it only seemed right to use one of their sets.. I went for the colours- if you look really closely, there’s a red hue towards the bottom.

Yes, they are all individual triangles..stamped in Mint Julep (Hero Arts). I then cut out some of the parts I’d stamped in black & added the Perfect Peacock craft metal sheet behind.

You can see how with a bit of burnishing from behind using the Add a Little Dazzle paper pencil tool, it gives an embossed look, which irl is pretty cool.

However..the card was ok- but I suddenly found myself looking at the stamp set and thinking on refracted light in prisms.

Don’t you hate it when that happens 😉 ?!

So, with a bit of playing around- here’s the next card…

Love the vibrancy of the metals and the really cool font on the sentiment. Were I to remake this, I’d use thinner strips of metal & I also wouldn’t have added the tiny triangle (which gives it an almost rainbow pencil look, but is in fact there to hide some rather unseemly adhesive. The ‘prism’ would have better in black- but you live and learn!

If you fancy joining in with this challenge No.38- just get any inspiration any which way. This second card is stretching the original photo somewhat- but look at the lines of the bridge and the tree and that’s where I went from.

Spurious?

I like to think not!

To join in go and visit the challenge here & you can use the inspiration photo or ‘anything goes’. You DON’T have to use craft metal sheets and its worth entering as due to the summer break, there weren’t as many entrants so that means you stand a better chance of winning the $15 voucher from the Boutique. Then, upload it to your blog or online gallery.

If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword DIVA38. Then leave a link to your project here . Please use a direct link to your post and not just your blog.

I was going to write and tell you about a certain breed of divas not so far from me. Those kind of divas that are challenging to care for & steer.

However, due to sometimes the said divas reading this blog, I’m guessing it would be inappropriate.

I can tell you a story.. once upon a time…

Hmm.. that’s too transparent.

I have a friend…

Nope. That’s an old one.

Lets just say I’m being kept on my toes to such an extent that dancing back to back ballets en pointe for a whole week might possibly be a breeze!

Does that help? 😉

Off to breathe deeply and relax.. and that’s the theme for the post tomorrow!

See you when I’ve found my sanity. It’s gone again! xx

Sending you hugs as i don’t like to read of you being stressed, life is stressful without divas making it more difficult…

Your cards are beautiful Keren, love how you have managed to take a small amount of the metal and make it so focal, the rainbow burst looks fantastic. Great inspiration here, you take care 🙂 xxx

Firstly (is that a word…well, it is now), what a clever creature you are Those triangles are a down fall of mine. Love em, own em, never used them. Will now.. Secondly (now,I know that’s a word), diva’s come and go…so let them. Deep breathing sometimes works…lying down, may work if you have the time. Me…I resort to drink, beer that is. Only a couple, but it helps.

Fun cards. Triangles just have something pleasing about them; I rather like these quite a lot! Your second card reminds me of Ardyth. She had Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride” stuck in her head, and now I’ve got Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” running through mine. Hope that doesn’t give any offense – Top 5 greatest albums of all time. LOVE your cards. Really and truly. And remember not to sweat the small stuff…and except for God, family and health, it’s all small stuff.Hugs and smiles to you, Bonkers… : )

Both fab cards – I have this stamp set but couldn’t think what to do with it once it arrived! Triangles are trickier than I expected 🙂 Love the prism idea – great way to use the metal and the stamping on your first card is just perfect!

Great designs, Keren! That is a seriously large number of triangles you stamped, and with no oopises! That second card- soooo clever! Gotta love your scientific thought process! Love them both!
