How was your Christmas?
I’d like to say that ours was chilled and slow and picture postcard perfect, but then- I’d be lying 😉
We did manage to get to bed well before 2am which was fab. As we were settling down, a confused and sleepy little boy shuffled in with his stocking
“Santa’s been!” he said groggily.
We decided to let him open one stocking present and bundled him back into bed.
Just before 6am, several awoke, but we managed to put them off bouncing into our room until about 7am.

When most of the present unwrapping flurry was over, we popped off to church and adjusted our perspective as to what the day was really all about and then headed home.
Not a moment too soon either. The roast turkey, despite being at the correct temperature was ready half an hour before it should have been.
We busied ourselves, readying the food and tweaking the table and then most of the guests arriving.
Some guests bring flowers, others chocolate. One of ours unfortunately brought dog muck with them & Steve and his Dad had to set about removing it from the carpet and their shoes. There was another type of ‘accident’ and this was all before we’d even sat down to eat.
Eating was a chaotic yet fun affair. It involved parading around the table and trestle table pushed together in order to seat the 15 of us. There were helpings doled out for other people, general hunting for missing parts of the Christmas feast and it was pretty noisy. Once everyone had got food it all went a little quieter as we enjoyed turkey and trimmings and amazingly no one spilled their drinks ( which is almost a daily occurrence in our house!).
The afternoon consisted of thrashing the dishwasher, games, some dancing ( not me!), and then the favourite toy broke.
Littlie managed to break his angry bird helicopter- the connector to the charger came apart and we had lots of tears and ‘that was my favourite toy’ etc.
Combined with a glass ramekin breaking on the kitchen floor it was a thoroughly ‘smashing’ time 😉.
Once we’d eaten for Britain and littlies were all getting tired, people left to go their separate ways and I sat ( or rather snoozed) on the sofa. Normally Steve and I enjoy a chilled time in the evening opening some gifts but I’d run out of energy and did my present opening on the next appropriate day; Boxing Day!!

Today we’re off for a visit to my Mum and Dad’s and tomorrow I’ve work to do.
Hope your Christmas was a little less frenetic than mine- but at least we never have the chance to get bored.
I quite like the tradition of blogger’s favourite cards of the year. I might do that, or just show you another from Get Stamping- like the one at the top!

Enjoy the rest of the Holidays!
See you when I’ve managed to squish down all the wrapping paper in order to fit it in the recycling bin! x
