Dance in the Rain card & Jubilee!

Happy Bank Holiday to the Brits! To anyone else reading the blog we’ve got two days holidays because of the Queens Diamond Jubilee. There was a big pageant on the Thames River yesterday to celebrate her reign. Her Majesty looked a little tired by the end- it was raining and she’d waved for a very long time. Love pomp, ceremony and anything royal.
This card is linking with the Gallery Idol. This weeks’ theme is Colour and I’ve made a few rainbow inspired cards. This card was made this way…

…by punching holes randomly in a card blank, making a striped piece that was bigger than the set of holes and then sticking it on the back. Guess you’ll know by now my love of holes and circles!! Just stamped some clouds from an American Crafts stamp set, added 3D foam, some adhesive gems and a sentiment made from My Little Shoebox stickers.

Today we went out to have a picnic in Quarry Bank Mill and then had a little drive and stumbled upon a place called ‘Runway’. We looked around an old plane, saw a Nimrod and looked at the Concorde they’ve got in a hangar. I’m no plane buff- I’ve only actually flown once but it felt pretty historic seeing this enormous but incredibly beautiful craft. Loved the sinuous lines of the aeroplane and still continue to be amazed at seeing planes land and take off at the viewing platform outside. We were tempted to go for a tour until we realised it would cost us £35! Apart from an extremely embarrassing moment where I momentarily lost the parking ticket and fumbled around whilst the man told us it might cost us £12, then he said £6 and then he quoted it might be £3. Fortunately I found it and we scuttled out after only handing over 3 quid. A day out for £7 in total ( plus petrol obviously).
Better go- our kids have jointly arranged a Jubilee party in the space of 1 hour and there’s about 27 people coming.
See you when I’ve escaped from baking loads and loads of cakes, putting up bunting and clearing up! xx

Love your GI entry, Keren! If there is any great thing about my GI experience is that I get to know you and your beautiful cards! It’s priceless!

Weirdly enough Virginia- I was thinking the exact same thing this morning. Not wanting to overstate a cliche – but every cloud and all that is entirely true! So glad to have stumbled across you!!!
